We were so disgusted with the level of well below standard accommodation that we promptly left the premises without handing back the room keys, for which we had paid a R200 deposit - not to mention that we had UNFORTUNATELY unknowing of the decrepit condition of the 'so called' chalets paid ahead for 4 consecutive nights' accommodation. Needless to say we left promptly and wrote off our losses.we made our getaway as fast as we could !! Luckily we found accommodation at nearby Weesgerus resort. A 5 star resort by comparison !! It was simple but clean, well equipped, comfortable and had the feel of 1st World accommodation. We welcomed it after the despair of facing a possible stay at Sanrock - where the chalets are constructed from a 'prefab' material ? not brick ,the 'walls' were hot to the touch on a mellow 20 ish C day. Possibly built in the 1950's and apparently never been renovated/ properly cleaned since then. The plumbing is dodgy - my husband unintentionally lifted out the entire kitchen faucet in an attempt to see if there was hot water. The kitchen surfaces were dirty and greasy and a smell of 'old' cooking permeated the chalet ......We couldn't make our getaway fast enough !!!! BE WARNED this place should be closed down. I don't know under which law in South Africa it is still able to be operational . Do NOT believe the deceptive photos they have posted on the internet . Photography can be kind ...

NO,NO,NO......... we booked and paid this through RCI. It is possibly the worst place I have stayed in my life. We booked a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom unit, which is what we got!!!!!
The geyser was leaking through the roof, we had to ASK FOR towels, a toaster, a kettle and globes to be put in. The Braai area is run down and not private at all. The unit accommodates 10 but there are only 4 chairs at the dinning table and 6 lounge chairs.
The unit has 2 beds downstairs and 8 upstairs, both bathrooms are downstairs. The upstairs area is a wooden landing which is uneven and unstable and VERY noisy. The stairs going up are also very steep and senior citizens will not manage. No aircon, the TV signal is so bad we could barely see the sport. The manager and her staff did however try to help us by moving us on Saturday to another unit this was a little better but!!!! we were just settling in when gates were flung open to the public and the facilities were overrun by local people with car radios playing in the car park. We packed our cars and went to another resort for the day. When we returned we were told that the "day visitors" would leave by 7pm, which they did, leaving our children an area to use, in the dark, littered with papers and empty bottles of alcohol. The Jacuzzi advertised was not usable as the water was brown. I will never recommend this resort to anyone. RCI should be ashamed to have this resort on their accommodation list. We booked for 3 days but returned home one day early as we did not feel safe with so many strangers around.

It is tidy and clean, but the place did not live up to the expectations or photos on the internet. The food is definitely not recommended and never plan to eat in the restaurant. We actually moved to a new hotel the next day. Booking was also a bit of an issue and we struggled to get this sorted out. More of a conference and function venue than a holiday or family destination.

The place needs serious attention: pool was peeling, tiles were chipped, upstairs room had no window and no curtain in small window, water was brown, toilet was leaking. outside light for braai was not working and jacuzzi enclosure was very old and chipping!! Staff tried to fix some of the issues but the place is very run down.

We've stayed in another resort of Goodersons and loved the stay. But sadly this resort in Modimolle is a place from hell. We were put in a unit with no airconditioning on one of the warmest weekends. The fans in the rooms was loose thus cannot be switched on. There was almost no utilities in the kitchen. The shower was dirty and full of spider webs. The TV is older than the chalet and needs to be upgraded. We couldnt watch TV as it couldnt display some channels. The area surrounding the chalet was not well maintained. It is dusty and sandy. No grass. The swimmingpool's fibre glass is broken and is in need of repair. All the courts are in need of repair and maintenance. Overall this place needs serious upgrade and maintenance. Although we reported everything, the staff could not provide the necessary as they did not have things at hand. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant did not have stock of what was displayed on the menu. The menu is also overpriced for what you get. Dinner and breakfast tables was neat and clean. Sadly the worst stay ever and that for a Gooderson Resort!

The place is disgusting and not of standard, it was terrible and not neat. The bed had bed bugs, it was uncomfortable & also had funny irritable bed spring sounds, we had bitten marks from the BED BUGS all over our body. The blankets & towels were not clean at all, everything was out of line. i think they should change the pictures that are posted on their website as they are decieving. San rock needs a thorough inspection. The kitchen is UNBELIEVABLE, NO HOT WATER, couches not properly arranged, wooden floor tile is very old and wall painting its very dirty. I agree this place need to be closed down.

I found the resort via RCI and paid real money for what is called a bonus brake. I do not know how such a resort can be listed on RCI and unfortunately only read the Tripadvisor review after we booked and paid! The resort is between squatter camps and there is no sign of security!! You get your key and drive through an open gate. Family camped in the caravan park of the resort and were robbed during their first night of stay. We had to ask the staff to clean the braai area twice before it was eventually cleaned. The water in the showers had no water pressure and was either boiling hot or ice cold. The gentleman who is the manager of the resort does not know what is customer service. I wanted to arrange a family function at the resort but more than once he promised that he will phone back within an hour or the next day and he never came back. I decided to use the facilities at Weesgerus for a function that was initially planned at Sanrock. The service and facilities was excellent at Weesgerus.

"Simply - at all costs avoid this place. To add insult to injury the cost of their accommodation is over the top expensive - usually a 'safe' method to judge the standard of accommodation. Inspect before you pay is my tip."
