A party of six, we stayed in Limpopo House and one of the Suites for a night at the end of April 2017 for a total price of around R6400 DB&B. We were en route between Pafuri Border Camp in the Kruger Park and Johannesburg. Madi a Thava is to be found amongst beautiful green forests in a dramatic mountain setting just outside Louis Trichardt, an easy 4.5 hour drive north of Johannesburg. The 4km dirt road off the main R552 is not great - badly rutted and muddy when wet, but well worth the trek. This is a unique place, clearly the product of much love and devotion by the owners, Marcella and Bart originating from the Netherlands, who, with their team of friendly and dedicated workers, deliver a wonderful experience far away from the stresses of city life. We received a very

We stopped over for a night on the way to Pafuri and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We had lovely accommodation in the Limpopo House - very comfortable and well equipped. The food was very good (dinner and breakfast) and the staff were friendly but professional. We will definitely visit again if we are in that area. There appear to be several activities on offer including bird watching and hiking. The owners have also embarked on a community upliftment initiative, and beautiful crafts are on display, many of which are available for purchase.

We spent only one night at Madi a Thavha after attending a friend's wedding at a nearby resort. After a bit of rough terrain driving (thankfully during daylight) we made it to this beautiful oasis. The brief glimpse that we had of first class service, stunning views and great activities on offer has put this lodge on our next holiday list with the family. Unfortunately we couldn't experience the cuisine that previous guests had written so impressively about (in the beautiful guest books in our suite) as the kitchen was closed. We will definitely try it out on our next visit. 👌🏽
