I have been traveling to the northern part of Limpopo for over a year now and I FINALLY found a fantastic place to stay. The farm is stunning and peaceful. The rooms are comfortable and the food was outstanding! I only wish I found it sooner.

The reviews of this place are "spot on" If you want to learn about the culture, history and traditions of the area, this is the place to stay. Madi a Thava leaves you with a lovely memory of beautiful countryside, ethnic decor, brilliant cusine and an understanding of african culture.

The hosts Marcelle en Aart (and friend Jan) make you feel so welcome everytime you enter the house: whether you arrive as new guests or after a day of excursion, always there for you. Their philosophy with the community projects is great, they really help locals to improve their standards of living. Marcelle works hard to develop different projects. We enjoyed Aart with his dry humor, never a dull moment. So, enjoy staying in this nature valley, monkeys on the terrace, very nice and relaxing people in the most 'african' area of South Africa. Our accommodation was clean, comfortable and modern. The food was very good. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, and made many efforts to help us to make the most of our stay. We walked near the farm and at a neighbouring farm and enjoyed good views over the area. We rented mountain bikes for one day and went out with our guide (at very short notice) to visit a local community and see at firsthand how people are living, and how they are making the adjustments to life in a developing nation.
