Accommodation is very good and the location excellent - just a few minutes and you are in the Kruger park. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Food was good. Room verandah overlooked the Crocodile river and hippos, crocodile and various other animals could be seen.

We already spent 3 days in the Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge in December 2022, this time in one of the perfectly furnished tents with a terrace and a view of the Crocodile River and were again thrilled by this lodge located right at the entrance to the Kruger National Park, which we can definitely recommend! Everything was excellent again: the friendly and courteous hosts, the staff and the food. The ideal location on the river again promised great animal sightings.
Unlike in December last year, however, the animals were scarce. The sightings were limited to three hippos on the other bank on the first afternoon and evening. In the next few days, only a few animals were drawn to the river, as they probably found enough water in the Kruger Park after the rainy days - which were thankfully over after our arrival. On the first morning, after breakfast on the terrace, we waited in vain for animals, except for a few buffalo and antelope and a herd of impala. On our afternoon game drive almost to the Lower Sabie Lodge, we were able to see not only impalas, antelopes, zebras, wildebeests and warthogs, but also an elephant, three lions dozing and a large herd of buffalo crossing our road. That took over half an hour, so we just managed to get back to the lodge from the Kruger Park, which closes at 6 p.m.
The next day, it was hot with bright sunshine. Our game drive took us straight to the Lower Sabie Lodge, but the animals had apparently retreated into the bushes and under the trees in the midday heat. Some elephants with their young, giraffes, vultures, zebras, impalas and warthogs made the journey not entirely in vain. In our lodge, however, we continued to wait in vain for animals on the Crocodile River. Apart from the hippos, there was no life on the river bank, only grazing impalas passed us across the opposite bank. Then there was excitement in the dark when several lions walked past the lodge's fence.
Before our trip to Johannesburg Airport, we made a detour at the Melelane Gate in the Kruger NP towards Berg-en-Dal Lodge, where we had observed many animals - including lions, leopards and a rhinoceros - in December 2022. But this time the one-hour game drive was in vain: unfortunately there was nothing to discover at all!

We were warmly hosted by Allan and Michelle. The lodge is really situated within viewing walking from Crocodile Bridge Gate. The lodge has an unobstructed view of the river and even during our short stay we saw elephants on numerous occasions and some giraffes. Breakfasts were fresh prepared by the capable staff and the smells of bacon and sausage with some coffee started our days. For dinner Allan showed us his braai-skills and kept us entertained with his many stories. Michelle was warm and welcoming and prepared numerous side dishes. All the while friendly staff assisted where they were needed tending to our needs.
Our only regret is that we could not stay for longer. Hope to come visit again soon.

Everything about Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge was a very unique experience To start, we were very warmly welcomed by Alan and Michele, who have created an environment where guests are brought together for great conversation and food. All staff work tirelessly with enthusiasm and dedication. They provided guidance on self drives as well as our full day organized safari drive. Our waterfront luxury tent gave us a front row seat to watch hippos, elephants and birds. We can’t wait to return.

The location is beautiful! View of the river where the hippos live, 5 minutes from the gate for Kruger and nice houses and tents to stay in. We received clear tips in advance about the Kruger Park, how we could best get there from our previous location and an excellent game drive was arranged. Every evening you were well taken care of with an extensive shared dinner and the breakfast was good. On the day we had planned an early game drive, a breakfast package was made to take with us. The owners are friendly and enthusiastic people, who want to share interesting things about South Africa and nature.

CBSL never fails to make our stay memorable. The hospitality and friendliness of the team is second to none and they are conveniently located making access to the KNP a dream. Amenities are modest but comfortable and clean. COVID-19 protocols are properly followed and we never felt uncomfortable spending 4 nights there. Thank you guys we'll be seeing you soon again.

We stayed at Crocodile bridge Safari Lodge on our way into the Kruger Park and I'm sorry we didn't stay there for longer. Geyser and Natasha were excellent hosts, and the location is absolutely fantastic - one doesn't even need to go into the Park as you can see everything from the luxurious deck overlooking the river. Thanks Allan and Michelle, for a fantastic night!!

The stay at Crocodile Bridge Safari was an experience of note. The tents are very comfy and the hosts Geyser and Natassia went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome and the food they prepared were out of this world. All staff are friendly and very helpful and they keep the place neat and clean. I will go back a 100 times for the view. Thanks to all making our stay pleasant.

The Lodge has a great advantage as you can do game viewing from your veranda. We even had a lion kill close to the safety fence! Accommodation is good value for money and braai (barbecue) on the Saturday night was one that I will remember for a long time. Owners are very friendly and professional. Will definitely be back very soon!

We absolutely Loved every minute of our stay at Crocodile Bridge. Starting with a warm welcome from Bruce & his lovely Wife Ilse to the sight of a crackling fire that was on the go to our 1st meal braaid rump steak cooked perfectly.
Bruce is a character with lots of stories to tell around the campfire and a wealth of knowledge about the Kruger and its wildlife. Our room was perfect, the view of the Crocodile River enchanting and the staff very happy to assist in anyway possible.
We will definitely be back again someday and wish Bruce, Ilse and staff all the very best for the future. Keep up the good work, you Guys are amazing.

Hi there, from what I remember the gates close at dusk. Well worth asking the hosts thought they are really friendly.
Hi, we are wanting to do the same. Perhaps take a flight from Johannesburg to a local airport near this camp. I too am hoping to find this info. Or can we rent a car near the resort? Diane
We arrived JNB on a late flight so It was two leg trip: 2 hours and 150 km to night stop in MIddlebourg motel , and a little less than 4 hours to final destination with few stops to make a picture etc. Roads in SA is excellent.
Unsure what is "panorama" route.
We went by car coming from Johannesburg, which took us most of a day.
If you plan to arrive late in the afternoon or even in the evening right in time for dinner, you should stop at some supermarket on the way and already buy some meat for the barbeque.
We went on the safari with our rental car. The crocodile gaete to the Kruger is at walking distance (10 minutes) from the camp.
"Loved the tent with the kitchen. Larger, private, and having a frig in the room is very convenient."Read full review
"For those travellers who prefer a more traditional type of room, book the river front rooms which are your typical concrete hotel rooms instead of tents."Read full review
