Everything about Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge was a very unique experience To start, we were very warmly welcomed by Alan and Michele, who have created an environment where guests are brought together for great conversation and food. All staff work tirelessly with enthusiasm and dedication. They provided guidance on self drives as well as our full day organized safari drive. Our waterfront luxury tent gave us a front row seat to watch hippos, elephants and birds. We can’t wait to return.

We spent 4 nights here and loved it. The lodge is right on the river 2 minutes from Crocodile Bridge Gate. The tents are beautifully comfortable with a/c, lovely shower and viewing deck. There’s a small pool overlooking the river great for cooling off after a day out. Charmaine and Anton were super-hosts: always on hand and joining us for supper every evening which was always something cooked on the braai by Anton with fresh Salads , veggies, etc and something different every evening. The food was delicious here and breakfast cooked to order or they give you a little cool box with yoghurt, fruit, juice if you’re out early morning in the park. We had a drive with Dylan which was fantastic and we saw and learnt loads. We also did some self driving from the Melalane Gate (25 mins away by road or drive to that area through the park) We were lucky to spot the Big 5 during our stay including a beautiful leopard in a tree and a rhino cooling off in the water. We watched elephant, crocodiles and hippo from the lodge. There’s a lovely authentic, real South African vibe to this lodge and we hope to be back.

The staff was incredibly warm and caring. The room had everything we needed, a kitchenette, air conditioning, a wardrobe, a comfortable bed, an incredibly beautiful view of the river. You can have a beer on the patio watching the elephants playing in the river. We went for safari, but I would say take 3 more days to rest in this hotel. 2 days was not enough, we wanted to spend time at the hotel, but we did not have time. It is a very warm environment where you can sit by the fire and chat with other hotel guests in the evenings. They book safari for you. Safari was also very enjoyable, we did not see the big five, but there is no guarantee anyway, you have to join the safari a few times. Some people had seen leopards on a walking safari. Evening meals were delicious, there were various salads, vegetables and barbecue, it was very enjoyable. Coffee and tea are unlimited. Thank you so much for everything. we will miss you guys

I had the privilege of staying over at Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge for 2 nights on the 30th Nov and 1 Dec '24. This was my 2nd time and it was as pleasurable as the 1st time. Friendly people, a clean functional, comfortable room and delicious meals. The young couple that is managing the place is an asset to the owners. They are always very helpful and friendly and willing to assist in every way they can. I had a problem with the airconditioning in our room - a necessity in the humid hot lowveld climate - and it was fixed in no time. I will always recommend this place to anyone and will certainly return whenever I am travelling in that direction.

The Lodge is in a beautiful location, overlooking the Crocodile River, but that's where it stops. The room is tasteless and uncozy and not really neat. The food is very mediocre and the staff is not really not cordial, except for the gerant but he is so overenthusiastic that it is disturbing.. he does not remain silent for 2 seconds and does not give the guests rest. We absolutely do not understand the good reviews, there are so many nicer locations in the same price range!

This lodge is especially good for its location facing the Kruger and the Crocodile River. It is very easy to access the park and we have the great pleasure of meeting elephants and hippos, which come close to the boundary of the property. the included dinner is of good quality and it is obviously very practical not to have to worry about it. The Honesty bar concept is great since you have access to wine or other drinks at a very acceptable price. The room is comfortable, nothing more - let's be clear - and the bathroom is a bit rustic. There is real room for improvement in small details, lighting etc.... A small swimming pool is available. Finally, the welcome is very friendly and relaxed. An excellent option to approach the south of the Kruger Park.

We heard about Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge from friends and we were glad that we decided to stay here. Our only regret was that we did not stay more than our 2 nights there. It was a great place to launch into Krueger National Park. The meals that our hosts cooked were excellent. And because we were headed into the park very early in the morning, they packed us a cooler with breakfast and lunch to enjoy in the park. We especially enjoyed sitting on our back patio and listening and watching the animals in the park.

We stayed here 2 nights, beautiful location! The owners were very friendly, room was beautiful with nice views over the crocodile river and near the entrance to the krugerpark, crocodile bridge. Throughout the day elephants, hippos, impalas passed by, in the evening even lions across the river. Highly recommended when visiting Kruger

Fantastic view to watch the animals during the whole day from the deck. The animals are on the other side of the river but also walking just before your room e.g. Hippo, waterbock. The teams are very friendly and the food is good. It is a nice atmosphere with the other guests while chatting the meals ore in between or at the fire. The location itself is very good and perfect for starting tours in the Kruger - the gate is three minutes away.

We stayed at The Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge at the start of October. The location is incredible. You’re about a minute away from the crocodile bridge gate. We saw a number of animal from hotel’s viewing deck and from our room. Including elephants and lioness with her two cubs scaring impalas. The staff and management at the hotel are very friendly and the food is freshly cooked every night. You get a chance to sit around the fire pit and swap stories with other guests. We will most definitely return next time we visit Kruger.

Hi, we are wanting to do the same. Perhaps take a flight from Johannesburg to a local airport near this camp. I too am hoping to find this info. Or can we rent a car near the resort? Diane
We arrived JNB on a late flight so It was two leg trip: 2 hours and 150 km to night stop in MIddlebourg motel , and a little less than 4 hours to final destination with few stops to make a picture etc. Roads in SA is excellent.
We went by car coming from Johannesburg, which took us most of a day.
If you plan to arrive late in the afternoon or even in the evening right in time for dinner, you should stop at some supermarket on the way and already buy some meat for the barbeque.
We went on the safari with our rental car. The crocodile gaete to the Kruger is at walking distance (10 minutes) from the camp.
There are more places to choose from in the Kruger National Park area.
