This was our second stay at the Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge. And it was just as great as the previous time. Rooms are comfortable and very very clean. Hosts are so welcoming and caring. The facilities (including the pool) are so good. And the communal braai in the evening, with the delicious salads, potatoes and homemade bread provided by the lodge, is a wonderful way to end the day and share stories with other guests. But the best thing here is of course the view. The lodge borders the Crocodile River, so you are looking directly at the Kruger Park. We again saw lots of animals from our room, from the pool and from the deck. Elephant, rhino, hippo, etc. are all walking by. And lots of beautiful birds can be seen at the lodge as well.
The lodge is self catering, but as said, they do provide salads, potatoes and bread and the fore for a braai each evening. So you just have to bring your own meat and drinks (or buy drinks from their fridge). Each room has a coffee/tea station and own fridge as well. The lodge also provides a small breakfast bag that you can take into the Kruger Park, with a fruit, drink, muffin and yoghurt. Very welcome if you drive into the park at 05.30 and want to have a small breakfast on your way.
During our stay the corona virus started to spread in South Africa. The lodge immediately took precautions, like desinfecting arm rests from chairs etc. througout the day and providing hand sanitiser for all guests.
If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay for a very good price, book here!

This really is an incredible place to stay at. If you have any doubts whatsoever, take it from someone who travels to Africa on a regular basis, staying in accommodation from B&B to 5* luxury lodges, that you will absolutely love it here. You will arrive as visitors and leave as life long friends. The warmth and hospitality that exudes this little piece of paradise, will leave you wanting to return time and time again. The owners Allan and Michelle have moulded their lodge to perfectly suit the needs of all. The brai each evening brings people from all around the world together, where many stories and sightings are shared and friends are made. The side dishes provided by the lodge are incredible, so just turn up with your meat and alcohol and enjoy the evening, the beautiful views over the Kruger national park the lodge offers and the amazing night sky. To cook the perfect steak, we reckon it takes three beers :-)
The rooms are lovely, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is always plenty of hot water and the added bonus of air conditioning on hot, sticky nights. It is just a few metres to the gate of Kruger, where unlike the other gates, you present your indemnity form, ID and cash at one of the payment booths, meaning no need to get out of the car to stand in long queues. As visitors who are first in and last out each day, this is fantastic as we can be back in a room just a few minutes after leaving the park each day.
I really can't recommend this lodge enough, the value for money ratio is outstanding and as previously rehearsed, it really is one of our favourite places to stay...

We stayed at Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge mid February 2022. The location of the lodge is unbeatable just 300 meters from the exit of Crocodile bridge gate of Kruger and with amazing views over the river into Kruger National Park. The two hosting couples were amazingly friendly and helpful and we had nice chats with both them and the other guests. Although not really in the bush the atmosphere at the campus the atmosphere of a real bush camp. We stayed in the tents ( with aircon ! which we switched of in the night to hear the hippos in the riverbed and the hyenas howl). Dinner is included in the rate and was very tasty as well as the breakfast served in the morning.
Great place highly recommended and we will definitely return

We spent 2 days at this lovely, neat clean lodge. The hosts are so friendly that when you leave, they feel like family. The lodge is situated on the Crocodile River, where you can view all the animal activity.
The breakfast and dinner that is served is very well prepared and fresh. I can highly recommend this lodge.

A most pleasing two night stay.
With its superb location (directly on the Crocodile river), comfortable accomodation, courteous and deferring service, good fare and reasonable pricing met all our expectations.
Just one suggestion;
Whilst accepting the facility is non-licenced, it would be useful if a small range of common non-alcoholic beverages were available.
We thank the management for the courtesy extended and will certainly be returning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The location is so convenient for getting into Kruger, but it’s also fantastic that you can view game from the lodge itself. We really enjoyed the communal braii set up and appreciated the excellent sides provided (& the breakfast bag too). Really friendly staff, you can see why people return here.

Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge is ideally located : you could walk to the park entrance and you may spot lions, elephants and others from the terrace of the lodge (or the terrace of your room if you have one facing the river).
You will be very well welcomed and attended by the team, Alan & Bruce and their wife are super hosts. The best moments at the lodge are evening braii time before and after diner talks around the fire facing the park under the moonlight (or following animals with powerful flash light).
I recommend this lodge which is excellent value for money. Be careful went programing your GPS, many places are called Crocodile Bridge something, the 4 words are needed. The lodge may arrange day safaris in the park with a professional guide for very affordable price.

our weekend with Alan and Michelle was the most memorable in ages. we truly felt like family from the get go. every need was met, and in the most obliging manner. Alan is vastly educated about wildlife and is the perfect host. they cared about every aspect of our stay. we keep kosher, so alan accommodated us with a kosher braai and went to great lengths to include us in their meals we will return without doubt. marilyn medalie

My wife and I booked 2 nights in a luxury tent at Crocodile Bridge Safari Lodge after having spent 15 nights camping in the Kruger. This to wind down and relax before heading home to JHB.
We were absolutely blown away by the level of service received from the owners and management. Even the guests that booked in seemed to be one big family. The team created a family atmosphere with all guests and we all got to interact with one another. We have NEVER experienced this level of hospitality before and we do travel quite a bit. The lodge is immaculate and clean. Rooms are cleaned daily with a daily change of towels. Game viewing from the deck overlooking the Crocodile River into the Kruger is amazing with one of the highlights being the spotting of a mother and baby leopard. We actually saw 3 of the big 5 from the viewing deck. Your "home cooked style meals" were absolutely divine, especially the home made bread.
Don't take my word for it, go and experience this amazing place for yourself.
Thank you Bruce, Ilse, Alan, Michelle and all the staff at CBSL. Cant wait to come back.

How do/did you arrange your trip into the safari?
Answer from

We went by car coming from Johannesburg, which took us most of a day. If you plan to arrive late in the afternoon or even in the evening right in time for dinner, you should stop at some supermarket on the way and already buy some meat for the barbeque. We went on the safari with our rental car. The crocodile gaete to the Kruger is at walking distance (10 minutes) from the camp.
