Suspended high above the N’wanetsi River, the dramatic cliffside setting of Singita Lebombo Lodge’s 13 contemporary glass-walled suites ensures inimitable views of the world-renowned Kruger National Park. The lodge’s cutting-edge design is cleverly integrated into its wilderness setting, where everything defers to nature and airy spaces welcome the breathtaking surrounds inside. The sophisticated loft-style suites embody the essence of modern romantic hideaways and their elevated wooden viewing decks allow guests to sleep outside under the stars. These light-filled structures, floating between river and sky, were inspired by the many eagles’ nests built into the cliff face of the river bank. Surrounded by Singita’s 33,000-acre private concession in the Park, the lodge boasts communal areas that extend seamlessly into rocky outcrops dotted with giant euphorbia trees. Features include a roof terrace, multimedia room, library, interactive kitchen, espresso bar and an all-day ‘bar-deli’. The exclusive-use villa – comprising two 2-bedroom suites, each with their own private pool – is set apart from the lodge and offers a full staff complement, private boma, open-plan kitchen and airy living areas that spill onto inviting outdoor spaces with an expansive pool.

The bathroom set-up at the Satara airstrip let’s you know you’re going to experience the incredible at Singita Lebombo. The rocky outcrop terrain of the concession and many water pans and rivers create areas for ahhmazing animal and bird sightings. The guides and trackers have encyclopedic knowledge (in our case Sean and Given) and ability to find the smallest/faintest tracks. The rooms are architecturally stunning and do not miss a beat on amenities (indoor/outdoor showers, outdoor day/night bed (to watch the action on the river below), yummy snacks, wine/spirits, coffee/tea when in the room, scarfs/blankets/bags/binoculars for the drive. An then there is all of the food — pre morning and afternoon drive yumminess (more than just a biscuit), breakfast/lunch/dinner/wine menus which are specific to your dietary desires. Besides the stunning setting for the lodge and the animals that roam through and nearby the lodge, what sets Lebombo apart from other places are the interactions with all those who work at the property. The kindness of night porter June, butler Khensey, wine pourer extraordinaire Jamie, and the welcoming team of Dharren, Cheyenne, Jack, and Melody ensured lasting memories were made. I’m dreaming of my next safari at a Singita property.

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you for the amazing feedback after your stay with us. We are happy to hear you noticed the set up at our airstrip which has recently just been renovated. We are also incredibly proud and excited at the same time to be showing our concession to guests, it truly is unique and unrivalled when it comes to the landscape. Sean and Given are masters of their craft and as we are sure you realised, one has to be a master when it comes to tracking animals on our concession, the landscape is vast. The entire Lebombo team immensely enjoyed hosting you, we will most certainly pass this feedback on to each individual and their respective teams. We look forward to seeing you again in the hopefully not to distant future. Take care, “The Lebombo Family”

I had a very nice and emotional stay at Lebombo Lodge. It is an absolutely unique place. From the Design to the small Details, everything fits together and is topped by the unbeatable friendliness of the entire team. We were incredibly lucky and saw lots of other animals in addition to the Big Five, which we owe not least to the harmonious team of our Guide Brian and our Tracker Charles. Brian, with his incredible knowledge of flora and fauna, and Charles, with his infectious good humor - both incredibly competent and obliging! Lembombo Lodge completely enchanted me, not least with its attention to detail and captivates with its uniqueness and loving service. When you return late to your room, you are greeted with fragrant lanterns and a handwritten card inviting you to a "good night chamomile tea". Simply enchanting!
Everything is superbly organized and the stylish reception begins right at a small welcome station next to the gravel runway on which the small plane lands. The facility can be described as relaxed luxury. Boutique hotel style, incredibly beautiful and tastefully done, but not over the top. The view and the public pool area are also great. The entire team is incredibly friendly and courteous and you can speak to anyone at any time. Fantastic drinks menu and lovely service! We drove poor Victor crazy with our German bread request;)
I would go back anytime. I have rarely experienced anything so great and sustainable. If you could award points, 11 out of 10!

The stay was beyond my high expectations. Starting from the planning the trip with Drew to the entire stay and departure. Drew arranged for us to be picked up at the airport and arranged flights to Kruger and from Kruger to Tambo.

The resort in in some 300,000 plus acres of land leased from Kruger National park in its truly natural form. The stay was made more special by the staff. They make you feel at home from the moment you're picked up from the airport. Our driver Solomon and guide Andrew were exceptional. They did such a good job tracking the animals on our twice a day Safaris. We were fortunate to see all the big 7 during our stay. Mid morning they would pick a nice spot in the wilderness for our coffee and light snack and do the same mid evening for drinks and snacks.

The staff at the resort is more like a family than employees. Starting from the manager Lucky, Jack and Victor and Victor, Bongi and rest of the staff made out stay special. We were a group of 14 and we had a lot of non menu dining requests. We never heard a no once. The chef was kind enough to make Indian food on two occasions along with the pre set menus. The drinks at the bar are all premium Liquor. Food is served when you are ready to eat or you could request in room dining.

The lodges are set along the cliff and blend into the nature. We had one closer to the river. We saw Hippos in the river from our deck. There is complete privacy in each lodge. You can see any of the other 14 lodges from your room.

Singita has done a fantastic job with the resort. I would recommend this for anyone looking for stress free safari at Kruger.

Good Day Thank you for the amazing feedback. Lebombo is home for our guests during their stay and therefore it is important that we make you feel like family. Our concession really is one of a kind and the views overlooking the Nwanetsi river are always something to appreciate, even for those of us who spend every day at the lodge. It was such a pleasure hosting the group and we hope to see everyone again in the not too distant future. Daniel, Darren and the Lebombo Team

My husband and I recently traveled to Singita Lembomo over the winter holidays. We were there late December. We have stayed at a few Singita properties and are a huge fan of the Singita brand.

Lembombo was stunning as all of the Singita lodges are. The rooms were so beautiful and well designed with the most spectacular view of the N'wanetsi River.

Our only complaint were the bugs. We understand that in Dec/Jan/Feb, there are a lot more bugs and mosquitos but the amount of bugs that came out at night all over the property was just ridiculous- the sofas in the main sitting area, the walkway to the rooms and even inside the rooms were just teeming with bugs- giant beetles, spiders, praying mantises. One night, we even considered skipping dinner as we didn't want to leave our room and risk letting all the bugs back in as we had just spent 10 minutes getting rid of 30+ beetles in our room. The only way to minimize the chances of keeping them out of our rooms were to leave all of the lights off and only use candle light when the sun set.

We totally understand and appreciate that the Singita brand aims to to ensure lodges touch the earth lightly, minimizing footprint on the land but if there were a way to reduce the amount of bugs in the room, that would have made our stay a lot more comfortable and enjoyable.

Hi There, Thank you for your recent review on Trip Advisor post your stay at Singita Lebombo in December last year. I am delighted to hear that you have stayed at a number of our Singita properties, they all offer such diverse experiences in each of the Southern and East African regions they are situated in. Thank you for your lovely comments about the rooms and how well designed they are, each with great views over the Kruger National Park and the N’wanetsi River. During this time of year, and in particular December last year, we have had excessive rainfall, which is great for conservation, but it also meant that there was an unusually large number of insects in and around the area. I apologise that this caused you discomfort, the bugs are attracted to light, which is part of the reason why there may have been so many in and around the Lodges and Room areas. One area that we have identified to assist in trying to reduce the number of bugs, is by reducing the amount of lights at night. I hope this experience didn’t put a complete damper on your stay with us, and that you did get to enjoy your time with us here at Singita Kruger National Park. If I can be of any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Best regards Andrew

Wow! What a place! Singita Lebombo was just incredible in every aspect. What I loved most is the beauty of their concession so different to the Sabi Sand/Timbavati area, its really is spectacular!

Barend (Guide) & Sunday (Tracker) were very good, probably my favorite guide/tracker combo I have ever come accross. They were so interactive & I could see that they have a very special bond. We saw all of the Big 5 at Lebombo. The highlight seeing a female leopard & her 2 cubs feeding.

The Suites at Lebombo are stunning with all the luxurious needed , our suite overlooked the river where we spotted elephants everyday.

Thank you to each & every staff member that made our stay unforgettable!

Our expectations were quite high going into our 4 night stay at Lebombo; however, the lodge, people and magical setting far, far exceeded anything we could have imagined. Many other reviewers have noted the outstanding game viewing offered on the private concession, so I will focus my review on the people that truly made our stay special.

From the moment we were picked up at the airport, we knew we were going to be treated as family. Liam, our guide, was friendly, knowledgable and passionate about his profession. I do not think we stumped him once with our incessant questions! Our tracker, Howard, was an absolute delight. While I had many, MANY highlights of our drives, one had to have been when he spotted a chameleon in a tree...in the dark...while our vehicle was moving. Mind blowing!! The two of them were so much fun to ride with each day and provided a different experience for each drive.

And then the team at the lodge. Ronny made sure we were well taken care of during meals and Dickson made sure our glasses were full of the best the impressive wine cellar had to offer. It was such a pleasure to chat with them both during meals. Dharren and Jack always provided a welcoming smile and were quick to ensure our coffees or afternoon game drive roadies were ready to go (usually without asking). And also, a special shout out to Chef Kyle with whom we had the pleasure of enjoying an afternoon culinary experience - such a treat! I am absolutely missing others, and for that I apologize, but do know that each and every person at Lebombo is warm, caring and truly invested in maximizing your experience.

Finally, I want to recognize Leah with Singita who helped with the planning of the trip. In total, we exchanged close to 50 emails (!!!), so I very much appreciate her patience and thoroughness in helping iron out all of the details of our trip.

Dear Utsav, It was great having you and the family with us. I truly appreciate the kind words, and will be sure to share the sentiment with the team. Suite 6 truly does encompass the feeling of an eagles nest overlooking the N’wanetsi; much like many of our other suites. The wilderness and tranquility the lodge and concession exhibits is unparalleled, and I am so glad you had the opportunity to truly absorb and experience what Lebombo has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you back! Kind Regards, Daniel Zents & the Lebombo Team

We spent 4 days at Lebombo with our kids (10 and 12 years old) and found it perfect in every way.

In a private part of the Kruger with abundant wildlife and experienced drivers and trackers, the game experience is incredible.

Add to this the stunning location, fine cuisine and incredible wines, you cannot help but have a magic time.

The staff are all positive, attentive and intuitive.

And the true benefit is knowing your stay is contributing to the conservation of this special corner of the world.

Singita Lebombo was next level in terms of attention to detail, friendly professional staff, quality of vehicles and food and drink.
I was on a very special trip with my mum who is in her 80s and it lived up to all our expectations.
Our guide and tracker deserve a special mention. Sean was the guide/ranger. He really knew his stuff and answered my constant questions with knowledge and enthusiasm. He clearly loves his job and is passionate about the animals and environment. He kept us so well-informed about what we were seeing, where we were heading, what to expect, etc. He was also incredibly polite and very considerate to my mum. And we were so fortunate to have Given as the tracker. What a delightful man. He was constantly smiling and enthusiastic and a very skilled tracker. He ability to spot tracks and wildlife was phenomenal. The camaraderie between Sean and Given was a delight and the 2 of them worked so well together to make sure we saw an incredible array of wildlife – lots of exciting lion action plus leopards and much more- and deepened our understanding of the animals’ behaviour. We felt very safe in their hands. Their care for the land and what Singita stands for was evident in all their actions.
A stand out was the extra touches with regards to the amenities provided on the drives (the polar fleece ponchos, toiletry packs, sun screen, to-go cups filled with whatever we wanted…etc..).
The rooms were spectacular and the food and beverage very high quality. We really enjoyed the fact we could eat and drink at just about any time. The ladies at the bar made us some fabulous cocktails and even created a banana daiquiri for mum because that is what she wanted! We had Eddie as our butler. He deserves special mention for his attentiveness, friendliness and professionalism. We looked forward to seeing him at every meal and we are grateful for how well he looked after us.
I had a massage at the spa. I am always a bit nervous about this becasue i am fussy with massages, and i was pleasantly surprised to have one of the best massages ever from Dee.
Thank you Singita for the trip of a lifetime.

Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear that you had such a memorable experience. Sean and Given are an incredible team who encompass what we call our "Singita values", you definitely also chose to join us at an amazing time of the year which was evident in the amazing sightings you had. We are thrilled to hear that you go to see so many lions and leopard, it is always so special. Eddie is our Head Banakele at Lebombo and leads by example, he will be so thrilled to receive such delightful feedback. He wears his heart on his sleeve as does the rest of our team. The ladies at Wellness and Wellbeing have got magic hands and being located in the heart of the bushveld makes your experience truly unique. I just completed a dream trip to South Africa (literally in the airport ready to return home). We spent time in Cape Town and then 3 nights at Singita Lebombo Lodge (followed by 3 nights at Singita's Boulders Lodge in Sabi Sands game reserve).

Lebombo is spectacular. The team there is unbelievable. Every need is anticipated and then met. Every single person with whom we interacted (safari guide, tracker, food prep, food service, porters, housekeeping, sommelier, etc. was friendly, helpful, kind, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. EVERY SINGLE ONE: Evidence, Daniel, Sanje, Tash, Guy, and so many others that I am neglecting to mention (my apologies for that).

The accommodations are excellent. Very modern and spacious villas perched high on the mountains overlooking the river. The suites here are not quite as large as those at Boulders, but they are gorgeous and well maintained.

Our guide (Evidence) and our tracker (Daniel) were unbelievable. Their skills were amazing (I still can't believe the way that these guys can spot an animal nowhere near us and making no sounds or showing no signs of life in the dark of night). They helped us to see some rare finds (leopard, african rock python, puff adder, cape buffalo, white rhino, and so on and so forth). Moreover, they were friendly and fun and and a joy to be with. This is important, given that you're spending 7-9 hours a day with your tracker and guide each and every day that you're there.

The teamwork here is excellent, as our guys were regularly alerting other guides as to our animal spotting (and vice versa). After three days, we had easily spotted each of the coveted "Big 5" animals and also some others rare finds as well (e.g. the python).

I didn't find the food to be out of this world gastronomical ecstasy, but this is nitpicking on my part. We ate (and drank) often and very well.

Bottom line, we will return to this lodge soon (likely next year), we will encourage other family and friends to join us, and we would likely not even consider other lodges or brands. We wanted a top notch luxury safari and we got it (and then some). Well done.

Thank you so much for a great experience.

-Seth & Stephen

Hi FoodieMD, Yes - It is always best to let your travel consultant or agent know of any allergies that you may have prior to your arrival so that they can alert the lodge. It is always best to inform your travel consultant or agent of any specific/special dietary requirements prior to your arrival so that the lodge can prepare and make all of the necessary arrangements.

Both lodges are great choices and you cant go wrong with either! They share a spa area and gift shop. Sweni has been remodeled to closely align with Lebombo. Lebombo has a very nice wine tasting room and the rooms are more spread out than sweni, but this also means that some rooms require a bit of a walk to get to. Both lodges share guides and land, so your safari experience will be the same. I would recommend taking advantage of the offer to visit both Kruger and Sabi, this would provide you with two different lodge experiences and two different safari experiences.
