The idyllic Letaba Rest Camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the Kruger National Park. The name means "river of sand", and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld, and remains a firm favourite with visitors. At night the stars overlook a symphony of sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets and cicadas all vie to be heard, until the lion roars, then all are silent.

the grounds are pristine, perfectly mowed lawns and camp is just beautiful to look at, we didnt stay there this trip but i will be sure to pay it a visit soon. The shop is one of the best in the park, and had different things to buy. The toilet cleaning lady was rude and shoved

Good service from the staff, and relatively good facilities. Bathrooms could be cleaner, but that is to be expected from such a busy season, and the pool ablutions could use a lot of attention. Laundry Facilities are adequate, though instructions could be clearer, and a number

Chalets and bungalows in varous sizes and styles as well as tents and a big camping site. Our chalet was equipped with the basics - including cups, cutlery, bbq - and a very smelly fridge! The room and bed was comfortable enough, although a little dark. Shower did not have

We have enjoyed our camping experience! Clean and spacious facilities available. We were close to the fence and the hyenas, were walking past us looking for something to eat. Although no grass in camping areas, are there plenty of shade and power points available. Some game

Much improved since our last stay here a few years ago. Not that it was bad then but now cleaner and better equipped. The Elephant Hall has been updated and is a great place to spend some time learning about elephants in general and those who have made their mark on the

What kind of eating places does Letaba Rest Camp Have ?
The camp itself has a restaurant - same restaurant and meh as most other major camps - with a good a la carte menu. Depending on what kind of accommodation you’re getting though it’s always a great idea to self-cater so that you can sort yourself out for the drives through the Park. There’s a shop in the camp where you can buy all you need (or bring in from somewhere else). Dinner can then be a great African braai/BBQ, or the restaurant if you prefer (we prefer the former).

Good day, does bungalow no 109 at Olifants Rest Camp Kruger Park have a bit of a river view at least?
Not sure but as the bungalows are on the side of the hill the view is slightly obscured unless you are on the edge of the river. Lovely camp with a great viewing platform within easy walking distance. Highly recommended. Was there in May.

Every room (4) have two single beds in them and every room have its own bathroom (quite a big one). I didn't check all the rooms (as they were exactly the same) but as far as I remember ours had a bath and a shower so I'm sure it will have both for all rooms. Each room have its own access door from outside and each bathroom is only accessible from within that specific room. According to the Sanparks website it says Wc, shower and bath.

I booked the Fish Eagle through Sanparks on September 1 at 7:30 AM. I have been told in the past they do not book through travel agencies. That said, I have had my best luck with Kruger reservations using the Stellenbosch satellite office as it is so hard to get in to the main number at first call.
