What an amazing 4 nights with Ross and his team. It was our second visit to KwaMbili and we are already looking to when we can go back. The new changes are fantastic and I look forward to seeing what further developments you have planned. Most of all the team at KwaMbili are the absolute best. Thanks to Ross for subsidizing the pricing to allow South African's to enjoy a truly outstanding bush experience. Can't wait for our next visit.
We really love KwaMbili! During our stay (of two nights) we slept in a safari tent. We highly recommend this; it’s very romantic, cosy, luxurious but it still feels like you are in nature/ in the bush. The gamedrives were superb. We saw a lot of animals – elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, leopards, kudus - and don’t worry if you see less animals during a gamedrive. The ranger and tracer have a lot of knowledge about the birds and vegetation, which is very interesting and enjoyable as well. The food is great. In fact, you might gain a couple of pounds… We did. 😉 In short, KwaMbili is incredible and has a lovely staff. Shout-out to our ranger Kaden, tracker “Squirrel” and Melissa for making us feel at home! We are definitely coming back. 😊
Very elicited to return to KwaMbili after my last visit . Thornybush reserve had been good to me for Big 5 plus Wilddog experiences . This time round we came across the biggest mammal , elephant of about 50 yrs old and the smallest bird , Common Button Quail chick . To spiders , frog nests at the dam . Rare birds not often seen , Senegal Lapwing . Weather didn't quite fit the plan but never the less the game viewing was great. Our guide and tracker tried their best to find leopard , tracks followed , really went out of their way to find one. Sadly it was not to be , although there is plenty of leopard sightings during our stay, we could not transverse in Thornybush property where they were. The camp is small and Out of Africa feel to it. It inter mate camp , nothing flashy and glitz. The tents are spaced out with privacy . Only accommodate 10 folk so you not a number but a guest . Tents have aircon if needed , we slept with the side flaps and one door flat open . First for the noise at night and the breeze. Outdoor shower which looks onto the bush as part of the bathroom. Had an impala ram grazing while I was in the shower. Meals are fresh and very tasty . Good wholesome home cooking . Thanks Chef . The camp is not completely fenced in , brilliant as it allows wildlife to walk through except elephants and giraffe . You never know what you could see ? At night a guide walks you to your tent for a specifically reason apart from the curtesy but incase any Big 5 around. Last night had 4 Buffalo bulls sleeping about 4 M from our tent . Exciting stuff . Guide had to get back up to get them to move so we could walk back. No time were we in danger and the guide, Jesse told us what to do. Great experience .…
All round amazing experience - From Game drives; game rangers; front and back room staff; food and authentic bush experience ! Excellent sightings and learning experience can't wait to go back and experience peace and tranquility !
Me and my Swiss friend went to Kwambili game reserve for 3 days. My friend had certain religious constraints with eating certain foods and driving on shabbas due to him keeping the sabbath. The entire Kwambili staff were exceptionally outgoing to accommodate his specific needs. They took us on extensive game walks on the morning and evening of the sabbath as well as an evening drive when it was night and my friend could drive again. Besides being very accommodating , the lodge itself was immaculate and clean , without losing any of the bush feeling, we stayed in the tents and nothing can be faulted . It was superb. The kitchen staff were great , every meal was very tasty ! The game rangers and guides can not be praised enough ! The experience and knowledge that these men hold between themselves is seriously impressive and if you allow yourself to ask a million questions they will gladly answer everyone! The owner is a hands on owner and can be found around the lodge ! You can sense how much pride and care he takes in his lodge and this rubs off within his staff. I’ve done many Kruger trips and private lodges but this was seriously a stand out experience.…
We stayed two nights in KwaMbili and the experience was incredible. We enjoy the food, game drives and great conversations around boma. It is one of our best bush experiences in the country. Many thanks to the management and rangers.
We stayed 4 nights in an en-suite tent and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The tent is well equipped, the beds are comfortable. The meals were very tasty. Dinners were served in the boma. We had very good sightings on all the game drives. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Thank you to the kwaMbili team for a wonderful bush experience!
We stayed 4 days in this intimate bush lodge. They only take 10 guests, We stayed in a tent (they also have chalets). The en-suite tent is well equipped, the beds are comfortable. The meals provided are delicious, compliments to the chef! The guide Wesley and tracker "squirrel" were excellent and their knowledge and tracking was outstanding. We had beautiful sightings of the big 5 and wild dogs. Thank you kwaMbili team for a wonderful experience!
Our stay at KwaMbili was absolutely incredible. Our ranger and tracker (and also the rest of the amazing team) gave their very best to make the stay incredible for us - with which they were successful. KwaMbili is the perfect value for money lodge, and if you are not looking for the most luxurious place (like we did), you will absolutely love KwaMbili! It has a family atmosphere and you feel more than welcome. The food is amazing, neither too much nor too less and our ranger & spotter made sure we had some great sighting. We will definitely come to KwaMbili again and recommend everyone else to do so as well :-)
3 of us had magical 4 nights 5 days at Kwan Mbili. We absolutely thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are so much looking forward to booking again soon. Kwa Mbili is without doubt by far the best value for money lodge in the entire Thornybush / Timbavati area. The tented accommodation was airconditioned and comfortable overlooking natural bush with a constant stream of animals visible close by. The food was also superb and we felt part of the family as it’s such a small number of visitors at any one time. All the staff were excellent and super friendly. Our ranger guide and tracker were both equal to any at the best more expensive lodges we’ve frequented previously. We all highly recommend Kwa Mbili for the best wildlife experience, we saw leopard most days, lions, python, honey badgers and even an African civet.…
