Property's Favourite Review
Nyati was lovely in every possible way. The property was lovely with African inspired design, all comforts, great riverfront views, and frequent visits by animals (you’ll still be safe though). The food too was really good - a different menu everyday and a lovely chef to explain it all. The staff too was excellent, and things ran like clockwork - the ladies at the reception would always ask you about your plans in advance to make sure everything was on track.
The highlight of a stay here is obviously all the game drives you get to do. I was able to spot three of the big five, as well as a host of other interesting animals you could only find in Africa. The sundowners and morning coffees in the bush were great too, and the lodge took care to bring out more cars than necessary so that everyone had ample space. Best of all, being in a private reserve, we could drive in the dark as well, which was a really unique experience for me!
The place also offers excellent value for money if you book online through their site. All in all, I’d highly recommend it to anyone thinking of heading to this part of Kruger, and definitely would return here myself at some point. :)

On arrival we were met by a young lady who was competent and proffesional who explained the rules of the Lodge. Complimentary drinks were served
We were escourted to our Lodge and our Ranger Lux assisted us with our luggage
The accomodation was superb with a magnificent deck overlooking the crocodile river with a shared ( with the neighbors lodge) sparkling pool
The Lodge was beautifully clean with all the amenities a self catering lodge would need
Lux ( a most experienced, courteous and ever interesting guide) took us on morning and evening game drives which were exemplary in every way. Always with snacks and drinks
Kate the housekeeper and Jeffery the gardener ( who also saw to the fire in the luxurious boma every evening) made sure the Lodge was always pristine
Between the wonderful staff of Lux, Kate and Jeffery, always at our beck and call, we had a five star experience and are looking forward to being there again as soon as we can.
The rates are exceptionally competitive
Well done &
Thank you Nythi Safari Lodge

We stayed at Nyati with our 2 kids over the long weekend . We had a lovely stay , accommodation was clean and well kept . Meals were freshly prepared and mostly good , if you like game meat I would recommend the lodge . The kitchen made provision for kiddies meals which was much appreciated. The lodge is spacious and well run . It offers 2 games drives daily , we saw 4 of the big 5 during our stay and plenty other animals . Will was a great guide .
Overall the lodge is a good place to visit & I would recommend it .
The lodge can improve on the beds , they are rather hard and the combination of single mattresses with single covers doesn’t work well for couples .

I spent a few days at the lodge in August 2021. Due to COVID 19, there were only a few international guests, which gave me the opportunity to get acquainted with some South African guests and I am delighted with their warmth and friendliness. The bungalows are beautiful, the beds are pre-warmed (pure luxury), the food is excellent, especially the quality is very good. The friendliness of the staff is overwhelming. I especially liked the breakfast in the bush, it is certainly not easy to bring all the necessary things into the bush. I enjoyed the game drives very much, every day was different. The rangers are very eager and have excellent knowledge of flora and fauna. What struck me as particularly positive was that when animals were spotted (especially the big cats) there were never more than a maximum of three vehicles near the animals, the others then drove off. The vehicles are in very good condition and also very clean. Of the additional excursions offered (for a fee), the boat safari is especially recommendable, as it is really relaxing and you have the opportunity to observe animals from the shore, in addition to many beautiful birds. I found the safari to Kruger Park exhausting because of the long drive there and back, although the drive through the villages was very interesting. What I did not realise when booking was that the lodge is in the Greater Kruger Park, which does not mean that you do the safaris in the Kruger Park.
In conclusion, all I can say is that I can't imagine complaining about anything, because everyone at this lodge goes out of their way to make the guests' stay as enjoyable as possible.

Caroline and myself spent two nights at Nyati Lodge and its an extremely special spot deep in the bush in the Maseke Game Reserve over looking the beautiful Oliphant's River. In future I would definitely spend longer here to really relax and enjoy everything the lodge has to offer. The staff are extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable, always smiling and making you feel at home. We stayed in the spacious 2 bedroom Olifants Villa which had its own swimming pool and huge deck to relax on while viewing game on the Olifants river. The food was very tasty and enjoyed in the relaxed dining area also overlooking the Oliphant's river. There is also a large swimming pool at the main lodge that guests are able to use, which we found very relaxing while sipping on a cocktail. The lodge offers other activities on top of two game drives a day, namely quad biking, a golf driving range, a gym, and a spa. Overall and extremely enjoyable stay and I would recommend this lodge for families or couples who are really looking at time off relaxing in the bush.

Our experience at Nyati was in a word...AMAZING. From the moment you arrive at the lodge, which is more than 10km into the thick bush of the South Africa lowveld, you know that you are cut off from the rest of civilisation and that you can prepare yourself for some true rest and relaxation away from it all. We stayed with our two daughters aged 8 and 11 in a luxury tent on the banks of the river which was a great experience for the children and more than enough space for a family of four with young children. Hearing the calls of the wild at night and seeing the heavens so bright makes for a truly memorable experience. Our four day stay included new Covid restrictions and all the staff did a tremendous job in trying to be as accommodating as possible to all guests given the very difficult circumstances of having to wear masks in public and not being able to serve alcohol. The meals were five star and had something for everyone, including using a lot of local wild game in the dishes. Because we only stayed for 3 nights we decided to go on all the morning and evening game drives which is such a great experience. Our two rangers Zaan and Karel were extremely knowledgeable and made a lot of effort with our two daughters to explain animal tracks and animal behaviour which made them feel very special. Thank you to all the staff for making this a great vacation and lastly thank you to Josef (barman) for all the cocktails...until Covid shut down the bar unfortunately. Nyati is a true African bush experience which we will always treasure.

We flew up from Cape Town to join friends at Nyati Safari Lodge and what a fantastic experience. Karel Jacobs our game drive guide was informative, knowledgeable, polite and went the extra mile to share amazing facts. The restaurant staff and front house were welcoming and friendly and informative taking all the covid screening checks very serious to ensure we all safe and responsible, thank you Nicole for been so thorough and diligent. The rooms were comfortable and the views of the river were superb. All in all the weekend exceeded all expectations. Did I mention a lovely touch the chef 👩🍳 comes and tells us what’s on the menu for the dinner each evening 💪👍👌 the whole experience was personalized and memorable. We hope to do another visit later this year.

Very nice stay. Staff were really helpful and kind, specially our Game driver Leonard. We had an amazing experience with him as he had eagle eyes to spot animals and he was always really kind and knowledgeable, we will miss him. Our Villa was amazing, very clean, good sheets and good amenities. One thing that I would suggest changing are the toilets as they are bit old and replacing the 2 single beds for a real double bed. The food was very good and dinners/lunches were presented in a good way. I didn’t have the chance to experience their bush dinner as it is only done on Sundays. I would suggest them to do it more than once a week so as all guests could experience it, it looks amazing. They should also let all guests know about the activities they have such as bush walks etc., we didn’t get any information about it and we always had to ask if we wanted to do something.

Spent two nights at Nyati. The road from tar to lodge, which is a good few kilometres, is somewhat tough if arriving by car. This gives more of a family resort feel rather than a lodge and had cocktail glasses given to us at the bar when ordering a bottle of white wine as there was a major shortage of glasses. Having read prior reviews, yes this is a Danish hangout with us not sleeping one night as we were subjected to a party in the cabin next door, until the wee hours. The rooms are a bit tired versus some other options in a similar price bracket in and around Kruger. on a positive note, we had a black rhino encounter and also saw a beautiful tusker. Will we be back - Nope.

Nyati is an recommended lodge for pampering and relaxation. The staff are welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel important and pamper to your needs. Always courteous are requiring after your well being. The location next to the river allows for amazing views of nature and animals. The game drives are well managed and the guides do lead you to the game. The meals (all inclusive) are three course and equal to any grand hotel. Our tent accommodation was luxurious and comfortable, great views from the deck. This is value for money.

There are 5 olifant suites
Wherever you book it will not be far away
We had one oc the luxurious rhino tents
Chalet 1 ,2,3 sre closer to the okifants villas
Yes, elephant, leopard, wartoug and monky
Guys.. we go to Nyati 3 or 4 times a year.. we have been 3 times this year already.. last trip we saw 3 leopards on one game drive..that never happens so that was amazing. Food is great and the staff are just absolutely amazing., you won’t go wrong with booking here
We have a 10 000 hectare private reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park. Three are no fences between our reserve and the Kruger National Park therfore the animals can move freely. The one major advantage is that our reserve is not as congested as the commercial part of the Park.
