My son and I stayed at Moditlo Lodge for 4 nights and we had the best stay of our entire trip in Africa. The property is beautiful and so were our lodgings. All of our meals were fantastic including the Boma meals under the stars. Thanks so much to Appearance for always making sure we were fed well. Make sure you get a massage from Cristabel. Hands down the best massage ever. A special thanks to Witness for making sure we always got back safely to our rooms! Also to Giellie who spent time sitting and chatting with us in the evenings.I would especially like to give special shout out to Aurela and Derek. These two guys are the best guide and tracker team anywhere!!! Nothing stopped them from their mission of tracking down game for us to see. We drove through bush that we never thought a vehicle could get through. We saw some of the most beautiful scenery! My son and I can not thank them enough for making our trip truly amazing. I would go back to Moditlo without hesitation . We loved it there.…
One of the greates places I've ever stayed at. Entering to the lodge is like living a bubble of perfection for everything. Staff is extremely helpful and nice; rooms are spacious, modern and well designed and the game drives are the best experience you could have ever imagined.
Moditlo is a great bush experience.. the staff and Richard are friendly. They do pride themselves on great service. I did however, have an unfortunate experience of jewelry stolen from the room on the day we arrived. Sadly it was not found and not much could be done about it even after lodging a formal complaint. I was disheartened by this unfortunate experience but otherwise a great place for a truly great bush experience
Thank you for accommodating me and my family on a Swop and Stay basis. Like the previous time, we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The staff is amazing, the game drives very special and the whole experience was excellent! We will surely recommend Moditlo to our family, friends and business partners.
A wonderful place and introduction to this part of South Africa. The staff, food, and facility were excellent. My family was jealous they weren't with me! I'd love to come back with them and stay longer.
Firstly....Wow. My husband and I decided to do a week in the bush for our honeymoon. What an amazing place. Let me start with the best part - The Game drives (Or safari's for the tourists): Our father and son team we had as our Guide & Tracker were absolutely incredible. I was amazed how they managed to track down almost every animal rather quickly, the process was remarkable. We managed to see 4 of the big 5 on our trip, as well as a Cheetah which I have never in my life seen in the "Wild". Unfortunately the leopard still alluded us (Luck of the draw). You get 2 game drives a day, 3 hours a pop basically. Which is included in your costs to stay. So its a MASSIVE bargain. The accommodation: The rooms were extremely neat, they are away from the main lodge and in the wild. The entire lodge is not fenced including the rooms. We had a heard of Nyala right at our room, it was awesome to sit on the terrace and drink some champagne watching the amazing wild life. The staff walk you too and from your room (At night) to give you a sense of safety, however we chose to walk ourselves as we felt pretty confident. Every morning the room is cleaned, every evening there is a turn down service with a cute little chocolate on our beds. The Food: Let me tell you...You will not be hungry. Breakfast starts with fruits, muesli and yogurt and a hot breakfast made to order of your choice. Lunch is usually a platter, it changes every day, then dinner is also amazing with a starter mains & dessert. The food was really tasty and truly what you expect from a 5 star resort. The Service: Everyone is literally at your beck and call. They are so helpful so attentive and so professional. The staff: Gielie (Not sure if I spelt that right) - What an amazing host for our boma evening, he also doubles up as the maintenance guy. The gardens he has put together, the facilities and the quick assistance with anything that wasn't working was awesome. He also has such a passion for nature and the bush. A true gem, and such a awesome guy to talk to. Richard - Truly a gentleman and such a professional host. Knowledgeable about the park and really passionate about what you do. Thank you. Effort - The Chef - My man, what a good chef, truly brought out the African flavors and such a nice guy to talk to. Front of house (So sorry I forgot your name) - Thank you for really taking the time to make our honeymoon special, the heart on the bed in pebbles, the flowers was really above and beyond. It really made our whole week! Our amazing servers - Ladies, you were awesome. You really made our stay pleasant and it was awesome learning some Tsonga words from you. "Ndza khensa" Finally the overall experience - Spectacular. I really wanted to stay longer, if I could I would be a permanent resident. The park is amazing, so many animals, surprisingly big and really worth the trip. The game drives were extremely good and there wasn't a single drive that we didn't see something amazing. The conservation effort they are doing there is amazing, I am glad our stay helps upkeep the park (Well worth the conservation fee). Every tiny detail was awesome. All in all, worth every penny, worth the trip and definitely can recommend to anyone. P.s. They have a clothing optional pool.…
We stayed at Moditlo for two nights, but wished we could have stayed longer. Every aspect of the stay was outstanding. The facilities are modern and luxurious, the service was flawless, personal (and funny), the food was delectable and plentiful. One of our party was vegan (we called ahead to let them know) and the kitchen went above and beyond catering to her dietary needs, producing delicious vegan alternatives to all courses. Thank you! While we didn't use the Gym and Spa the facilities, they looked top notch. The game drives were exquisite and extraordinary. We saw many incredible animals throughout the reserve but in the company of Aurell and Derek even encounters with the most common animals (eg. Impala and Warthogs) were exciting and entertaining. We hope to be back one day. Thanks for everything!…
What a wonderful stay at Moditlo River Lidge. The staff were absolutely amazing and made us feel right at home. The food was exceptional and the game drives were full of wonderful sightings. Our spa treatments were top-notch and felt completely relaxed. Thank you for all your hard work. You will see us again.
We had the best 3 nights at the lodge. Excellent service, delicious vegetarian food and happy and helpful staff. Richard was on hand every day, and was kind enough to arrange transport for my son to the local Airport. Special thanks to Appearance, the rest of the staff and the great chef, Sedon our Tracker and Jika the Guide were terrific too. Nothing that we requested was an inconvenience to the staff. Thank you!
Absolutely loved my stay at Moditlo River Lodge. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We saw plenty animals and the Big 5 on awesome game drives. The rooms are SUPER clean. The food was tasty and continuous. And the pool and chilling area were just perfect for reading and relaxing. The spa and the cocktail bar are worth noting as well - incredible! Thank you to the Moditlo staff!!
