Mohlabetsi Lodge greeted us with a handwritten welcome and flowers in our luxury "hut" with a fab outdoor shower and luxury linens. Lunch is served under the trees and dinner at festive banquet tables within a walled enclosure with a bonfire, often used for grilling. Excellent food. Driver Lucky and tracker Robert knew exactly where to go and what to do when viewing rhinos, lions, elephants and more. A trip of a lifetime. I am still in awe.

This is a very nice and exclusive lodge located in the Balule reserve, 7 km from the reserve gate. Included in the steep price of the room (about 300 € per person per night, 200 if you take advantage of the pay 2, stay 3 nights offer) are three meals and two game drives in an open vehicle. The food is excellent, and the staff are friendly and do their jobs superbly. The rooms are rondavels, big, cozy, nicely furnished and with an outside shower (I wonder if it might be a bit cold in the winter). The only thing I did not like is that there is a subtle pressure to consume drinks, which are not included in the price. Water is provided with the meals, which is greatly appreciated. However, although knowing that none of the other drinks are included, the way in which you are offered a drink for the sundown game drive leaves some room for confusion. In the end, you feel kind of forced to order a drink, even if you don't want any, as not doing so seems a bit awkward. I'd recommend that you ask in a different way, so that it is clear that the drink is not included and allowing the guest to order nothing without feeling uncomfortable. In any case, this is a very nice and relaxing place. The game drives are exhilarating, and you get to see most of the big animals, from a very close distance, as the vehicles can go into the bush. This left me wondering about whether it is really safe to do that, as, if an elephant or a buffalo feels threatened or scared and decides to charge, there is no room for manouver in the deep bush.

The reason I rated Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge five out of five is because from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you are treated as part of a family. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The shower is alfresco and there is air-conditioning in all the rooms
The deal comprises 3 meals a day which are excellent,2 Game drives a day. There is a spacious lounge with views over the lawn to a watering hole.
There is also a very good swimming pool at your disposal, and for the Ladies a curio shop on site. You will find all the staff very helpful, also the Rangers and Trackers have wealth of knowledge

We have been going to this lodge for 10 years, that should say Wonders. The lodge is situated some 35 minutes drive along the R40 from Hoedspruit. On entering the reserve and travelling along 7 km of Bush Road you are greeted with a very impressive entrance. You will find your accommodation is well appointed with air-conditioning and the minibar. The food menu is very good and very varied as is the stock of the bar.On your arrival you will be met by one of the very friendly staff who will explain the routine of the day, which includes two 3 1/2 hour safari rides on an open Toyota Land Cruiser. This is a tracking lodge which means on Safari your ranger will use all his skills to find at least the big five if not more animals. We found the staff very very helpful and could not do enough for you, all in all we thoroughly recommend this lodge.

Beautifully, upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a welcome drink at this unbelievably gorgeous accommodation. The small lodges that resemble bungalows as rooms are thoughtfully prepared with a handwritten note, and an outdoor shower adds another highlight, allowing you to shower under the starry sky in the midst of the national park. The safaris are breathtaking, and the rangers are incredibly dedicated to creating a unique experience for every guest - we were able to see all the Big 5 in this resort - simply indescribable. The dinner around the open-air campfire is another highlight. As someone working in the hotel industry myself, I can only express my utmost respect and sincere congratulations for the overall concept, the rangers, the offerings, and the exceptionally kind and competent staff. It was an unbelievably beautiful stay that we were fortunate to experience in your unique and lovely lodge! Many thanks to the entire team for this fantastic experience and the high level of competence and excellent service quality!

We were very impressed by Lodge Manager Nina's exceptional friendliness and how she managed her team. She hosted us, together with her husband Jacques. It was very personable.

The general staff was very friendly and helpful, and the meals are tasty and wholesome, albeit limited in choice.

The rooms are clean but very close to each other, so privacy might be an issue for some. There are only outside showers available, which I'm generally a fan of, but it might be overwhelming for others.

I was really impressed with the game density and variety of animals we saw. It would have been nice if the guide and tracker would interact more with us to share more relevant information.

Caroline and myself really enjoyed our two night stay at Mohlabetsi lodge in the Balule Game Reserve. The lodge is small and has a very homely relaxed feel where one is able to relax on the lawns and watch game walk past. Our ranger Kelvin was able to get us some great sightings and we saw plenty of lion, where I was able to get some great shots. The staff were very friendly and attentive and were always smiling and willing to have conversations with us. The food was delicious and each meal was really enjoyed. We also enjoyed relaxing by the swimming pool and having a gin and tonic during the day. The rooms are small, but cozy with all the modern amenities one requires.

Mohlabesti is a lovely welcoming place. At arrival you are pleasantly greeted by Nina with a cold drink, a tour and the daily schedule. The meals are spectacular, each served in a different location on the property. Elephants are frequently seen out front. On our last day there were giraffes out front as well. LOVE watching those elephants and giraffes. The game drives with Sam and Solomon were excellent, they are dedicated to their guest enjoying the experience.

The hotel is very well equiped and clean. The food is great. The game drives happen twice a day at fixed times and our two rangers were extremely kind and experienced. Once we got there, the staff informed us about the daily routin. The schedule is followed strictly and worked perfectly well during our stay. We were able to see a lot of animals during our game drives and the experience was unforgettable. There was also enough time to rest and enjoy by the pool and hammocks.

The extra attention to the clients was extremely nice. The presentation at dinner was delightful. The presentation around the fire and the use of it to cook dinner was wonderful. When returning from the safari it was wonderful to have a warm damp towel to wipe off the grime and dust.
