We stayed in the Leadwood camp it was absolutely wonderful. I’ve visited South Africa on many occasions and this is a hidden gem, quiet, tranquil and right in the heart of the African bush. The large plunge pool and outside shower were perfect for hot afternoons, everyday was ended with a camp fire and a few beers under the most beautiful stars. We also had a visit from the local giraffe on our first morning. Hoedspruit is about a 40 minute drive to get supplies etc and we visited the Maroela bar in town for a burger (buy one get one free on a Monday night) 😁 also had a morning at the three rondavels view point and the best lunch at the Potluck Boskombuis bush kitchen on the way back. We found the location of the lodge to be perfect for the local tourist attractions in and around Hoedspruit and also less than an hours drive in to the Kruger national Park where we spent the last few days of our trip. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, authentic African bush experience then this is the place for you.

My wife and i spend 4 nights at this beautiful, quiet place.
Getting there was no problem at all if you follow gerhards instructions.
Once we parked the car, we were instantly impressed by the location and surrounding.
Spacious outside living area with a great braai area, sunbeds, lounges and a pool.
The Tent has a kitchen with everything you need and a comfortable bed. The outdoor bathroom was nice.
Gerhard was a great host, we enjoyed the afternoon game drive very much.
We can definitely recommend this place. Great value for your money!

Amazing stay from start to finish. We stayed at Corkwood camp which was just stunning, from sunrise to sunset. The tent itself is very well equipped with a lovely addition of the plunge pool for when you want to cool off. Seeing the wildlife up close is amazing, several times we had giraffe come up to the tent. The manager made us feel more than welcome and is very knowledgeable about the area. I highly recommend the pridelands sunset drive, elephant moments and the blyde boat cruise, all of which were arranged by Charlotte. We can’t thank you enough for a fantastic stay. Will definitely be booking again in the future!

We booked for one night. Upon arrival we were told by security that we had to pay a conservation fee of R150. This is a substantial amount for one night that was not disclosed before we booked and paid. I found it afterwards in the confirmation email when I actively had to read to find it. There was loadshedding when we arrived so we couldn't pay with a card and didn't have cash. The security guard just said, "sorry that is the law". No looking for a solution; very unwelcoming.

I made a fuss about having to pay the fee, upon which the hosts' communication with me changed from very friendly to unpleasant. Fanie, the person who had been in contact with me, insisted on sending voice notes on my WhatsApp, even after I asked him to please text. I find it completely unprofessional and inconsiderate, forcing a client to have to listen to minute long messages of umming and ahing.

We were told that the water pressure would be very low during loadshedding. We were prepared to not shower during that time, but in fact there was no water at all in the 4-hour loadshedding period we had that day. We couldn't drink or wash our hands.

The pilot flame for the gas heating system for the bath didn't work. The water didn't even get lukewarm, couldn't bath but the shower did work somehow.

I am sorry for your experience with us but I would like to say that in all our years of operating this is the first review we have had like this and pride ourselves on our attention to our guests prior to arrival and during their stay. In response to your review about your stay with us I would like to make it clear that in all the time we have had people stay with us I have never before received a message from the Reserve Manager who assisted at the time at the gate when you were making a 'fuss'to tell me how rude you were to the point of refusing you entry. There is a conservation fee payable on entering the reserve as with most places - kruger park etc This is payable per car not per person so when worked out per person is a nominal amount. This charge is made perfectly clear in your booking confirmation and again you are the only person to ever question this small charge at the gate. You also received a message from our staff prior to your arrival asking you to read your booking confirmation and any questions please let them know they would have been happy to help. But, it would appear that you did not read the booking confirmation otherwise you could have questioned this prior to your arrival as with all the other information this is made perfectly clear. You continued you to be rude with our staff after your arrival. Again a situation that has never happened to us before. I would like to reiterate that i am sorry for your experience but feel that everything we were doing was not going to be good enough. We consistently receive reviews from Guests on how helpful and pleasant our staff are at Mountain View Safari

AMAZING stay. Quiet and clean and unique stay in the woods. Saw giraffe on the way in. Very romantic and comfortable. Not missing a thing. The road in was fine with a small car. The hosts were communicative and left us alone. Highly recommend to anyone wanting peace and quiet.

Just a fabulous experience overall. Charlotte was so helpful not only through the booking process but also just in general helping to navigate the whole travel process with COVID. She truly went above and beyond. Tyron the manager was great, and the property is simply amazing. Glamping in the African bush with all the amenities you need and an awesome pool! Only regret is we wish we could have stayed longer. My son left his backpack behind and we were unable to retrieve it and Charlotte went out of her way to PayPal us the money that was in it as well as facilitate getting us a quote to mail it back to us in the US. Truly great experience and property.

This was a wonderful experience, Its suited for couples and if you rent out the bigger area kids would also enjoy it. Its luxury camping, everything you need in one spot, splash pool and outside braai area. The accommodation is great, clean and comfortable. The outside shower is a winner. Its a beautiful area and driving distance to Hoedspruit and Blyde River

Our family spent the weekend at Leadwood camp and it was fantastic. Sitting on the deck watching the animals is medicine for the soul. Kids loved the splash pool and exploring around the camp. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Overall an amazing experience.

It was truly a wonderful weekend
