Little Africa was amazing. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, we always received service with a smile. The lodge itself is thoughtfully laid out, able to accommodate wheelchair users and perfect for the elderly (no steps, walk in shower and rooms not to far away from the main lodge area). The food was superb, I honestly cannot fault a single thing the chef abd her team made us. We were fed really well and definitely ate way too much. We were asked of any dietary requirements when we booked as well as again upon arrival.

Breakfast is a continental with delicious variety of cheeses, cold meats and home made breads. Followed by a warm breakfast (each day you can order an English breakfast or the breakfast special which changes daily).

Lunch there was a main course and a dessert. We had delicious fish and chips on our first day, followed by rump and roast veggies on our second. On our last day we had a pork kebab with handcut chips and a delicious salad followed by amaruoa panacotta.

Dinner: a three course meal each evening which was superb. Night 1: butternut soup followed by balsamic glazed sirloin and finished off with home made malva pudding and custard.
Night 2: a braai done in the boma area with plenty of delicious salads, a venison stew (most delicious I have ever had) , pap and shebo, rice and then 3 different braai meats ( chicken, lamb chops, beef sausages). Desert was a delicious coffee chocolate cake.
Night 3: lentil soup and a mango and biltong salad followed by a rack of lamb and finished with a lemon and coconut cake.

The drinks were really well priced (which is often not the case at game lodges) their house wine brand a good south African favorite (Alvin's drift). We were never charged for tea or coffee and we drank a lot of it,

Now onto my favorite part of our experience at Little Africa. The game drives was unlike anything we have had before. We have frequented a fair amount of lodges in South Africa in various provinces. What made it so special was that we had a game ranger (Thomas) and a tracker (Cazwell) they were a dynamic duo and you could truly see they had a passion for the Bush. They would frequently stop the vehicle and track the animal footprints. I cannot count how many times over our 5 game drives Cazwell would walk into the bush following lion/leapord/rihino or elephant footprints while we carried on driving with Thomas. Only to emerge out of nowhere 20 minutes later and having found the animals he was Tracking. Thomas would then off road with the car till we were a stones throw away from the animals. I have never had so many close up experiences with the big 5.

Little Africa is superb value for money and I will be recommending it to everyone I know. I can't wiat to come back.

Little Africa is such a gem of a lodge. This is our second time visiting and the staff and owners really care about their guests.
Because it is so small and intimate (only 7 units) there is a real hands on experience and no big crowds of people.
The guides will go out of their way to get you up and close with the various animals and we came really close to lions, elephant and rhinos.

This new safari lodge is a small gem in that it is a small family owned and run establishment with only seven luxury tents for a maximum capacity of fourteen guests. Even so, service is wonderful and the food is prepared fresh for every meal. At one point there were only three of us at the lodge and yet full service was given to us. We felt very pampered indeed! The owner is on the premises and often helps with meal service which is always very good and served with a smile. The "tents" are beautiful, new, thoughtfully appointed and even offer air conditioning! There is a nice pool with beautiful deck loungers from which you can observe wildlife if you are lucky. Both a tracker and a driver are at your disposal for the game drives. They were excellent and went above and beyond is search of the wildlife and I fully credit their expertise and will to please with finding the big five and many, many other animals, often accompanied by informative and very interesting narrative. We will remember Little Africa as a favorite experience and would not hesitate to recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a wonderful experience in a cozy, personalized environment.

A piece of Paradise. Game drives, expertly led by Giga ,calm, quiet and respectful of the many diverse wild animals found and hugely rewarding with extra treats of sundowners ,tea in perfect natural locations. Food included 3 course meals of five star Cordon Blue restaurant quality. Chef Ami superb and gracious. Accommodation exquisitely beautiful but also practical - Additional warmth provided by air conditioning and luxurious duvets. Shower and bathroom spacious, luxurious ,aesthetically natural and pleasing .Gardens and natural rim flow pool unpretentious yet gorgeous. All expertly managed by gracious Pollen who treated us like royalty.
It was TOTALLY perfect . Exceeded any expectations

Little Africa has access to 15,000 hectares of private game reserve near the Kruger. The accommodation is first class ( so good that the odd passing baboon will attempt to make use of your tent !) and the twice daily game drives are well organised by an enthusiastic and well informed Edward with his charming partner Danielle attending to the catering, which is first class.

Thanks to Edward we saw everything but the elusive leopards and hyenas although the proximity of elephants and lions would have some guests on the edge of their seats while seeing 2 cheetahs despatch an impala while simultaneously eating it demonstrated how bloodthirsty nature is. For balance, the marvellous dung beetle had a lot to commend it.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable and educational stay

We researched long and hard before plumping for this gem. It was everything and more we hoped it would be. The host, Leandra, is so attentive and friendly, with nothing too much trouble.

The small size of the lodge allows for intimacy and the ‘tents’ (we camp and can only dream of such luxury!) were beautifully constructed surrounded by trees and with decking overlooking the river bed. The lodges are protected from large animals but beautiful nyalas and cheeky macaque monkeys graze and wander about among the buildings.

The swimming pool has the most beautiful outlook and we adored it.

It’s a haven too for birdlife - and all this before going out on the twice daily game drives! Speaking of…..Never (driver/ranger and font of all knowledge on animal behaviour and birds) was entertaining and wonderful company. He was motivated and, along with Mateo, the spotter, really went the extra mile in trying to ensure we had the most magical time.

Everyone, including housekeeping, the waiting staff and the chef, ensured we’d a wonderful time of treasured memories. We feel privileged to have had the chance to experience such heaven.

Family Owned and operated, this little gem provides an exceptionally high standard and warming service.
Situated within an 11,500 hectares estate, Little Africa has direct access to the World of game viewing at its best.

Comfortable and quality furnishings add to the overall experience of home-from-home, but deep in the African Bush.

Food is prepared with skill, maintaining that all important traditional African cuisine, alongside European dishes.

Helpful and cheerful staff, who go out of their way to assist.

Top marks Little Africa!

Leandra is an amazing host. The facilities are just what we wanted. It's a small camp and very personal experience. Leandra and Alvesion were incredibly accommodating with the menu preparing delicious and abundant selections. Our guide and tracker team of Jika and Gaswell were amazing - knowledgeable and friendly and they worked very hard to find animals (small and large). Bottom line - GREAT experience and highly recommended
