If you’re keen to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation, Blyde River Wilderness Lodge is the place to go. The lodge is situated along the famous Panoramic Route of Blyde River Canyon near Hoedspruit and is less than an hour’s drive from the Kruger National Park (Orpen Gate). Set on the banks of the tranquil Blyde River, this thatched lodge is every nature lover’s dream. A blend of contemporary, African decor complements the beauty of the lodge’s garden, which rests under the shade of majestic Jackelberry and Fig trees. Each beautifully appointed room has an en-suite bathroom, tea tray and mini bar. Scrumptious breakfasts are included and 3-course candlelight dinners under the stars are an optional extra. On chilly nights, guests can also enjoy the mesmerizing flames and warmth of a wood fire in our traditional African boma.

Wonderful service and delightful staff! A very peaceful setting, perfect for a weekend getaway. We received a free upgrade upon arrival and throughout our stay, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay. Looking forward to going back there soon.

Unfortunately we only stayed one night at the lodge but we enjoyed every minute of it. The place is beautiful, quit, clean and the best part is you are in the middle of the wilderness and you’ll see animals everywhere. We had a wonderful vegetarian dinner at the terrace and were really happy to have come to this place. Definitely coming back soon!

Had a lovely (too short) 2 night stay here. Stayed at Kimba House which was a stunning, peaceful, well equipped cottage with fabulous facilities. Ate at the restaurant, and enjoyed delicious meals and a good wine list. Beautiful setting right on the banks of the Blyde river with great birdlife and a tranquil setting. Really regretted not being able to stay for longer and hope to be back. Helpful and friendly staff help made for an outstanding stay.

The accommodation was fantastic and the host Pricilla was phenomenal. Everything was great not a single complaint. The property has great facilities and very close to the river it actually runs through the lodge you can wake up go to the river smell the fresh breeze.

We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. It's a beautiful little bush retreat. We regret that we only booked for one night and I wouldn't recommend it just as a stop over on the panorama route, as it is located deep in the bush with an additional 20 min dirt road drive from where Google takes you but it's definitely worth it if you have the time. The staff is very friendly and the food was excellent but dinner is quite pricey. The rooms were beautiful, even nicer that on the pictures in a classic bush lodge style and they even upgraded our room for free. We will definitely try and come back again.
