We stayed at moholoholo lodge for one night with a wedding party travelling around different parts of South Africa. The views here are stunning which I cannot fault and there was lovely/friendly staff to greet us all on arrival. Having a fear of bugs and insects meant that I was anxious about what the accommodation would be like when we arrived. I stayed in a 3 bed house with one room upstairs with a en suite and 2 rooms downstairs with a shared bathroom and kitchen for everyone. No air conditioning in the house, only a few big fans and the rest were the tiny plastic fans. Immediately I noticed how dark the house was and even with curtains open it was hard to see what you were doing, and when night came you could hardly see a thing. Instantly I ended up seeing huge spiders, massive moths running around the rooms which instantly put me on edge and spoilt the experience due to being so terrified and anxious. When trying to sleep at night, you could hear things dropping from the hut roof to the floor. During my visit, they seemed to be building or repairing something near the river and so at 6.30am, workers began loading rock into trucks and driving them to the river and repeating this over and over with no thought about the residents. This place is gorgeous and I'm glad I experience it but personally its not the sort of place if you don't like bugs.

Attended a wedding here in November. Accommodation is excellent, we stayed right on the banks of the river. The grounds are well kept and tidy. Food was great too. There is a huge grass embankment next to the river below the eating area, beautiful views.

Very friendly people to welcome you in this great lodge. Loved the bushwalk we did here. Enjoyed the surroundings and the accommodation: as a family we had two separate bedrooms which was perfect. Also the meals we used here were great: the typical Afrikaanse braai, the light lunch and the lovely breakfast.

We stayed there just a couple weeks ago. We only stayed one night, but really wish we could have stayed longer. ALL of the staff went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. Since there is a walk to get to most of the chalets, and the path is a bit uneven, the staff made sure we never had to even touch our luggage. They delivered it for us, and they wouldn't even let me carry my small bag. They made sure we had a flashlight so we could see the path clearly when we needed to come to the main house. The chalets have a real African feel. They are so pretty inside and the night sounds only add to the experience. We hope to stay here longer next time. The biggest down-side was that you have to go to the main lodge for wi-fi to work. It is a bit slow, even in the main lodge. No wi-fi in the rooms.
