a surprisingly lovely spot! our family of five spent one night there. the gardens are beautiful, the home is wonderful and spacious, and the caretakers were kind and helpful. we highly recommend this beautiful and comfortable home!

Unfortunately there is nothing worth mentioning and therefore you become a captive audience and end up paying over R300 per person for a very ordinary meal. Of course drinks are extra !!

There is a small section of road to the lodge that is a dirt road from what i recall but it is a very short section. The road to the Blyde River House is tarred and there is no problem. The cars are locked behind security... More

Hi It took about one and a half hours easy motoring. Sealed roads all the way. When you stay there, do leave time (1 day) to do the Panorama route drive. We had a clear and sunny day, stunning scenery and a nice cold beer... More
