Boscobel is truly a gem to visit. The setting is so beautiful, the cottages are so clean, equipped, comfortable and well maintained. Margie's warm hospitality is really so refreshing and made is feel very welcome. The location is perfect for exploring the area and perfect for just staying at the cottage itself. We are hoping to be back soon but this time with some friends & fam as Boscobel is truly a gem to be shared.

Self-catering cottages with all the creature comforts of home. Our two small dogs loved the massive garden and ran around sniffing in the cool mountain air. We were snug an warm the whole time, with a stunning stone fireplace, heaters and electric blankets. Not to mention a lovely glass of sherry to fight off the nip in the air. Had a wonderful stay, very relaxing. Lots to do and see in the area.

We have stayed in many self catering cottages over the years . Boscobel was one of the very best. The cottage is beautifully appointed. The views are spectacular, our host, Margie was friendly and so helpful. We had four wonderful days and we will most certainly go back. Eating breakfast outside on the little patio was very enjoyable too for nature lovers like ourselves, we found ourselves in a piece of heaven. Don't change anything please,

Boscobel was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed at. With the most beautiful rooms finished off with the finest details. The owners were so very accommodating and helpful in every way possible. The morning after the wedding it had rained and our cars got stuck in the mud and the owners helped pull us out the mud, and on top of that drove us to Haenertsburg to pick up our friend. They truly went above and beyond with helping us out and making us comfortable. A big thank you to Margie and her husband for being so fantastic.

After confirming the booking at Boscobel, we promptly received simple and accurate direction from Margie on how to find this cosy hideout.

Upon Arrival, Annie warmly welcomed us and showed us around the cottage. We stayed in the Royal Cottage for 2 nights.

The cottage had all the basic necessities in the kitchenette. The fireplace is ice and cosy when the evenings get a bit chilly. Firewood and firelighters are provided.

There is a "main lodge" which has a full kitchen and a big lounge, and guests are welcome to use the facilities here.

Margie, the owner met us during the course of the afternoon and showed us what to do in the area.

Ideas on how to spend your day(s):
- Take a walk along the roads behind the cottages. Take a bottle of water, a hiking stick, binoculars and a camera
- Relax in the gardens of Boscobel
- Visit Kuhestan Farm
- Visit Kurisa Moya
- Visit Dap Naude Dam

A sedan vehicle that is not too low will be able to survive the small dirt road to access Boscobel.

Arrived on a very cold evening, to be met by very warm and welcoming owner, Margie. We were shown around the Royal Cottage, which was beautifully appointed, with tremendous attention to every detail. Home made rusks, a decanter of sherry, plenty of wood for a nice fire - even a little jar of honey and some fresh farm milk! The bedding, furniture, fittings and appliances were all top class. The following morning I went for an early walk in the beautiful gardens - it was a great time to visit, with all the cherry blossoms and roses just coming into bloom! The Weber braai was cleaned every time it was used. There is plenty to do in the area and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. Margie and Neville are the perfect hosts, and - having lived in the area for most of their lives - they know all the right places to go! Although the kitchen was a bit small, there is access to the main lodge kitchen, which has a beautiful double gas stove & oven, plus a freezer for those who are planning a longer stay. We really enjoyed our stay and can see this becoming a firm favourite for regular visits!
