I stayed at Leriba for two nights recently on business. Hemingways Restaurant was a disaster with very bland steaks, underdone pork belly and inflated prices. Lighting in the restaurant is so bad that I had to use my cell phone to read the menu. It was then that I noticed the dirty tablecloth and cutlery with the paper menus dirty and torn. The waiters really try hard and did well at service but they are rudderless in a sinking ship to my mind. The business suites located above the restaurant are dated and not clean. The carpets were sticky and in need of a good wash. Air conditioning was a struggle and had to set temperatures to 17 deg C to get any sense of cooling in the room. Then the main reason why I will not go back. I noticed a VERY inebriated person in slops and shorts making a nuisance of himself at dinner and at a wine-pairing that was held at the restaurant. I was told it was the owner of Leriba Lodge but I cannot confirm this. The person treated his restaurant managers and waiters really badly and guests were visibly embarrassed by his antics - so was I. I cringed while watching this person stumble through the tables to eventually take control of the microphone to interrupt dinner service. This was a real shame. He was back the next afternoon after which I promptly left... I suspect when management gets involved in this manner it won't be long before customers will stay away.

I stayed here previously. This was my previous review: The rooms are very rustic and they sure can do with an upgrade. My shower were also gruby with soap scum. Does not feel like 4 star. The breakfast was lacking in variety but they accommodated what we asked for(vegetarian and vegan). Outside the rooms it is a stunning venue. When i gave the feedback i was told they were going to renovate. This time i stayed in a renovated room. Only 10 rooms got air-con and out of my party of 4 i was the only one who got a room with air-con. Bathroom still gross. Same furniture and old carpet? Old rusted fridge. Renovated? If adding 10 air cons counts as renovating then i don’t know. It is a stunning venue during the day but we felt unsafe walking back to our rooms after dinner with the garden being very dark and not signed showing where to go. My friends had to ask for different rooms as their rooms where dirty. Reception was very unfriendly and unhelpful. I will make sure my company does not stay here again. Will give always give a second go but Leriba failed horribly. Not recommended!

We booked and arrived on Christmas Eve after a bad experience at another hotel. The Leriba is a gem. Our rooms were large and comfortable, the grounds are huge and immaculate, the pool is lovely and the restaurants and food are great. We were in Centurion to watch cricket and we used the complimentary car to take us to the ground and pick us up. The driver Barry was great and when we left early to fly to Cape Town he arranged packed lunches and drinks for 5 of us. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Attended a half day work conference. The venue was nice and busy. Food was good and service was great during our time there. Pity I couldn’t stay for lunch but I was also concerned about the number of people at lunch and whether quality would be maintained. Good overall experience

Some friends and family decided to reserve a table for Christmas lunch at Chapters Restaurant at Leriba Hotel. What a mistake. They obviously just wanted to make a quick buck. The planning for the occasion was appalling. We estimated that there was at least 300 people there and they had one barman on duty which caused a major backlog with all the drinks orders. Then the tables were shocking. Absolutely no decorations at all. No salt and pepper and cutlery was also dirty and not enough for all. We saw three people break the plastic chairs that were used for the seating. I am afraid the food was also shocking. We had to wait on numerous occasions for the food to be replenished and it was out in the open with no protection for the flies. Not hygienic at all. I am afraid, all in all, it was extremely disappointing and we heard a number of people complaining about the same things as us.I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or colleagues.

We went as a group to an indaba at Leriba Lodge, the venue has lots of open spaces, you can walk around on the property, and there are lots of wild birds. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious.

I have asked to be removed from their database at least 10 times and I continue to get their junk/spam emails. If this is how they run their marketing I would hate to see how they run their hotel. Guess I would never stay there

This was my first visit to this venue, However the visit ws nearly spoiled by lack of good visible directions around the area. Anyway, the venue is nice, with an attractive garden, and suitable for family outings. We were there fo buffet meals, there was an option of fish and different meats ad salads, as wellas desserts. While we were waiting for the other members to join us , we orderd some drinks, and one of us odered tea, however, it never arrived, until we reminded the waiter about the order, but we decided to cancel it. All in all, the set up both indoors and outdoors is well laid out. The inside seating was more appealing to me, It wa just a pity that, it was fully occupied. We enjoyed the food and the desserts, not forgetting the cakes. The weather was also cool and warm. I hope to make a return visit and spend more hours. there. On Sundays, I suggest that one arrives early to avoid struggling for parking.
