The hotel is convenient located. However the breakfast was not ready at the stated time as per 06:30 and at 07:00 we still waited for pastries and hot food to be ready so we can eat. As we checked out early could not enjoy breakfast as it was not available and fully functional at stated time. The airconditioning in the room was also not fully functional, and the housekeeping will come and service room even if you still present when we asked for a few minutes to leave ao she can have full access when we out. The Lake/ river next to the hotel also left a bad smell hanging the entire time which was not enjoyable or pleasant.

A comfortable hotel with smart, well laid out rooms. The room included a kettle with supplies of tea/coffee, a heater and a good sized tv.

The public areas of the hotel were particularly lovely - the first floor lobby with a roaring fire led onto a cosy bar and a well sized restaurant that rustled up some decent food at short notice. Nice decoration too - such as the paintings of cricket grounds in the hallway leading up to the restaurant (quite appropriate as many rooms look out on Centurion Park cricket stadium).

Overall, a good place to stay in the area.

Stayed for 3 nights in Centurion lake hotel on business trip
good:
- service
- close proximity to mall
- .free WLAN

Downsides:
- risk of flooding from nearby lake - river when heavy rain
- area at night not advised to walk outside the hotel (so you need to have a car /driver to get around, except for mall)
- restaurant not so nice, better check out the restaurants in the nearby mall

We selected the hotel based on its rating and proximity to Pretoria for a one night stay. Generally an edgy experience in a tired city hotel located close to the cricket ground. 3 stars would be a more appropriate rating. Amenities were basic but effective. General safety was a concern, and while nothing happened we were always careful around the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only stayed one night so wasn't a big issue.

I used to stay here many years ago and was surprised on my recent visit how this hotel has gone backwards in terms of its excellent service. Also a lot of alterations were made since my last stay. One of the main features of this hotel was the bar and for some reason its location was changed. Not a clever move in my view. I was informed that the new manager was responsible for the changes. Definately not an improvement. Service not the same. Staff slow and it seems supervision is lacking. Hotel could not provide undercover parking due to flooding in the parking basement.

I stayed two nights for business. The hotel does not have great facilties. Looks a little bit old and lack of maintenance. Restaurant buffet does not include the desserts. If you would like to have one be prepared to pay extra $$. The rate is expensive compared with other hotel at Sandton area at Johannesburg that are new and with much better facilities.

at the grand price of £170 (R1700) a night room only I was expecting something a little bit better. As other reviews have said the rooms are of a good size but very out dated. Considering the number of staff you see standing around the service was slow and not the friendliest.

I've had better stays in budget Hotels and Guest Houses.

This is not the first time I stayed at the Centurion Lake Hotel. Located close to a main road the room was relatively noisy but nothing to be alarmed of. I stayed 2 nights last week and noticed a noise coming apparently from the floor above. I did not imagine that rodents could be crawling above the false ceiling. I did complain to the reception at check out and noticed the great embarassment of the staff. When I informed them about this unpleasant experience, the clerk asked me if was not staying at the first floor. I did not but this unfortunately showed they were aware of it. Any way, the staff was fine. The room was OK in general and the breakfast good and the choice adequate. I paid over 100 US$ a night and did not expect this experience to happen. I left my contact details and will see if they attempt to get in touch with me...

I would stay here again. This is mostly a business hotel, but has a very good restaurant, and is reasonably priced. The hotel is situated next to a big shopping mall that includes doctors offices, post office, book stores, and good selection of shops. The pool is tiny, the hotel staff nice enough. Rooms with a view of the lake must endure the noise of the weekend bands until at least midnight.

This hotel is nicely positioned at the head of small lake and has other commercial buildings nearby (office blocks with some restaurants at street level and a large shopping mall within walking distance). The staff were friendly and responsive to customer requests and the terrace restaurant and bar over looking the lake was very pleasant. I would be happy to use this hotel again.
