Detailed Reviews
We attended the Movies under Stars evening and opted to stay overnight. What a treat! From arriving and being greeted like family, to lunch under the beautiful oak trees, then to our stunning and spacious room, complete with deep claw bath. The movie was moved indoors due potential rains but this did not detract from the experience. The buffet supper was superb, with the desert table decadent. The waitrons are attentive, without being intrusive. After the movie we were ready for the super comfortable bed. Breakfast the next morning was simple but more than sufficient. What impressed me most about this venue were the beautifully presented meals, and small thoughtful touches in the rooms. A posy of herbs for the bath, fresh milk in the little fridge for coffee, large fluffy towels. Definitely worth a visit

Kleinkaap has a serene atmosphere and is extremely clean. The food was absolutely delicious every single day with staff ready to assist at any given time. I spent two weeks there and their best quality is consistency. They also respond well to feedback because we asked for the chairs to be changed and this was done.

This is a rating for the Kleinkaap restaurant. The setting is beautiful and very Cape Vineyard like. If you want to spend a few hours here because of the garden etc, then you won't be disappointing. I however rated it 4/5 simply because this rating is relevant to the Kleinkaap restaurant. The menu provides for a range of meals, including breakfast, light meals, main courses etc. My meal was 5/5 but I must mention that three of the six friends were not so impressed with their meals and I must take it into account. My recommendation is that you should consider the breakfast menu or the main dishes. But again, the setting and gardens are so special,,,,,

On Sunday we decided to visit them for lunch and should have been more concerned when we saw the parking area being near to capacity.
We were greeted by one of the waitresses and informed that there were no more tables available outside however we were seated at a very nice table looking out over the festivities outside (which included a live musician).
The waitress assigned to our table was friendly when we ordered our wine and we decided what to order.
For lunch we decided on a Beef Bowl (a combination of Beef Fillet and fresh greens, guacamole and nacho chips), a Greek Salad and Battered Hake.
After quite a while ( 1 hour 30 minutes) the Food and Beverage Manager approached our table and asked about our order and ventured to investigate in the kitchen and report back that it is being plated, another 5 minutes to wait.
While we waited for our food, there was no shortage on entertainment as the party guests kept rolling in (they were hosting 4 to 5 different groups, who were throwing events from baby showers to birthday parties). And then one party organizer would complain about the facilities not being set up as requested and another guest would come and complain about the tables being too close to the musician (who really was so loud, that other guests also complained about the noise. Why one needed a blaring musician in such a lovely setting I could not understand), while platter after platter was paraded to the various party groups outside.
Some time had passed when the Manager returned to triumphantly announce that our food will be with us within 5 minutes as the kitchen is busy plating the food.
Our waitress also approached us after he left, apologizing about the delay with our food (an apology she was repeating to numerous tables outside).
After another 30 minutes (following the 5 minute announcement) our food still had not arrived and we decided that if we were to still have lunch to rather visit another restaurant (ironically while we were walking out, a fresh-faced waitress – who I assume just came on duty – asked us if we would like a table !?!).
We have visited this restaurant previously, as part of Restaurant week and as part of a year-end function with them. With both visits our servers were attentive and the food being well prepared and tasty (and it arrived!).
After this experience, it is clear that their main focus is on catering for functions, and I would have really appreciated it they told me at the door that unfortunately they were unable to accommodate walk-ins or serve anything of their ala carte menu.
I fully understand that businesses need to cash in as much as possible, following the severity of lock downs, and people being unable to pay extravagant prices for food, but making visitors sit for an hour and 55 minutes, without any food has left a bad taste in my mouth, and if we were in the vicinity again, we would definitely opt to visit another restaurant.

Was very disappointed. The outside area is beautiful but the room we stayed in was terrible. It felt like we were squished into a room they don't care for. I lost something so looked under the beds and it was clear that the beds haven't been moved for a while to be cleaned underneath. The floor by the bath also hasn't been cleaned in a while. The tap fixture to the wall by the sink was loose and looked unprofessional. One of the worse things was that the towels we received were stained. There was a broken fingernail in the safe as well which is really gross.
The service at the buffet breakfast was also disappointing as we never received the sugar and milk we asked for. The couple at the table next to us also never received their cappuccino.
So glad we slept over as we wanted to get married there but now I will never spend a cent there again. Definitely not worth the room costs we paid.

Checked in at 5pm 03.12.22, was given the keys to room 18. The room had not been serviced (bed not made, towels on the floor etc. Was then given keys for room 13. Someone's g-string was under the basin on the shelf with towels, event/wedding right outside our window + lots of echoed noise in the passages, rooms are not sound proof as advertised. 10pm I called reception for another room and was told there aren't any available, 11pm I went down to reception to find a manager and spoke to a gentleman that was very helpful. He asked the lady why we were given a room near the wedding and she said that the other rooms hadn't been cleaned yet, a house keeper was called in and we were given room 23. No issues from there on but had already spent half the night moving from room to room.

I had the most wonderful week at this hotel - definitely like turning the clock back to real service and a very warm and genuinely friendly welcome. The hotel is so well laid out that even though there were events on when I stayed - a jazz festival with a mouthwatering braai on the day I arrived and a wedding celebration on the last couple of days - not once was I disturbed or impacted by noise or lack of service.
Although I was there due to work and was travelling solo, it is very definitely somewhere I would love to return to with my husband. The food was excellent and attention to detail fantastic. I would have loved more free time to enjoy it and really hope I have the opportunity to return!

We had a conference at Kleinkaap and were blown away by this stunning venue! We attend many conferences and got super tired of the same old stuffy venues inside hotels!
At Kleinkaap we felt like we are very far away from the city! The natural finishes of our venue made us forget about the difficult topics we had to discuss. The staff are all so extremely helpful and professional. Nothing was too much to ask! Even making the reservation was a pleasure!
We will most definitely be back but this time we will sleep over to experience the rooms!

Very nice historical venue and nice garden and vegetable garden where the restaurant go and fetch what they need for their menu...
I like the concept "from the garden to the plate", and considering that, I picked two vegetable dishes : The black mushroom (delicious), and the falafel (made out beetroots). Very fresh and filling.
I was obviously full after that, and skipped the dessert. Very nice early dinner with walk in the property.
