Ebandla Hotel and conference venue is not far from the free way, so it is very accessible. Beware of the short distance gravel/dirt road you have to travel after leaving the main road. It has all your standard conference facilities. Their staff is very professional and helpful, especially Bongani who assisted the Sanlam team during the South African Funeral Practitioners' Association's annual conference from May 11th to 13th. He received all the material that we had sent before the conferenced and assisted in storing all our branded material until our courier came to collect. The food was spot on, and there was a wide variety and enough to cater for a diverse group of people. I did not stay at the hotel since they are not on our company's suppliers' list so I can only comment on their conference facilities.

I chose this hotel for our quarterly NEC meeting because of its proximity to the King Shake International airport and rhe idyllic setting away from the bustling crowds. To my utter disappointment this choice is probably one that will blot my copybook. There is no cohesive management at all and I cannot for the life of me comprehend how this hotel functions....
1. reception staff are not at their posts on check-in one of our party waited 10 minutes whilst a staff member was searching for a competent person to check in.
2. Upon check-in I was allocated a room which, once I entered, was found to be in the process of renovation.... The check-in clerk accompanying me did not know!!
2 there was no-one in the bar and once again there was a scurrying around to find anyone to man the bar.
3. The beer was so old that the sell by dates were a full year over. See pic..
4. Ice was not available... And we waited 30 min whilst ice was purchased elsewhere!!
5. A number if the rooms do not have showers and this is not mentioned anywhere in the promotion documentation.
6. The conference facility did not have the correct input cables for connecting and once again we were delayed whilst the connectors were being purchased... Despite being forewarned two weeks prior to our use
7. WiFi and TV reception is non existent anywhere on the premises despite being boldly advertised

All in all I cannot believe that this establishment holds a 4 star rating and clearly the total lack of any cohesive management is blatantly evident

Stay away is my advice!!!

I loved the venue and the food but the treatment we received from Nelly and the security guards was very disappointing and unpleasant. We were informed 3 hours before the dinner that some of the food on the menu was not available, we ate part of the dinner in the dark because we had lights switched off in the middle of our event. Its a lovely place to book and sleep at but not for an event. Was really disappointed as this was a very special occasion.

We stayed at Ebandla hotel for 2 nights. We are a vegetarian family and upon requesting for non- dairy milk and more vegetarian options, the staff made sure that we were catered for. Keep up the good work and making your guests feel welcome and comfortable!

Worst experience of our life! Electricity tripped in room after 23h00. Duly reported to night manager who was really very helpful. DB drenched in water in control room - no one can touch anything. Electricity will not go on. Duly informed at 23h30 we must pack all our suitcases and belongings (we are 2 working adults with laptops, 2 kids and a baby) take my sleeping children and move to the otherside of hotel because thats all we can do now. Obviously declined offer because moving sleeping children and repacking is a nightmare in its own after only arriving at 20h30. Not enough towels, not enough cups, no fridge, and toilet flushing system thats faulty in pitch black room with no aircon is no joke with 3 kids and tired travllers. DB box has hanging and loose wires, is wet and generally in a poor state in hotel is a fire hazzard and will not comply to fire regulations at all. After been told to wait in dining hall from 6h30 and have breakfast we are duly informed pay for your breakfast (bear in mind we could not even drink coffee in our room -) here is your refund but pay for your breakfast because you had to wait until the manager came on duty to try resolve this matter. That does not sit well with us after a evening that was not well spent.

Attended a a adding mar 2015 and I have to say Ebandla hotel has the best garden and a piece of mind condition. Driving at the gravel dropped my hopes until I entered the gate .... I have to admit that it a little harven with the north coast .

Very disappointing experience. The few hotel employees onsite tried to assist as good as possible, but the venue is not a full run hotel. Still wondering how they got 4 stars
No wi-fi nor good network reception. Road leading to the hotel is a gravel road with terrible potholes. No briefing at checkin, no proper information how breakfast works. Once we had a an ‚ok‘ buffet, other days a poor breakfast a la carte, which took forever to be served.
We left a day earlier than planned.. no refund or anything similar to accommodate or meet us half way.

Very nice hotel, amazing room with big bathroom! There is also free car park, secured and safe. Rooms are cleaned and tidy. Breakfast was quite good, although it wasn’t busy when we were there, we have been served a good breakfast!
