I had a great welcome and assistance all along my stay thanks to Idah and Gomo, food was elaborated by Solofelang and Mothusi, what a pleasure in our plates, game drives led by Solo our knowledgeable guide. What else to say, don’t change it’s perfect, a bit far from high end things but so enjoyable. Thabi you for making my first game reserve experience a successful one!

We have just vreturned from 2 nights at this little lodge.
It is run by the community and wow do they do a great job.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and very eager to help wherever they can.
The food is delicious too.
We saw 4 of the big 5 on our drives.
Lots of elephants and rhino's.
The other game vehicle saw a lot cheetah but we missed them.Did see wild dogs though.
Getting to the lodge is a bit tricky as they are busy with roadworks in the little village just outside the reserve but we just stopped and asked.
There are 12 glamping tents in total and all dotted along the river.
We were in tent 12 which is quite a walk from the main area- probably 400metres .
Wake up calls were at 5am- coffee/rea at 5.30 and by 6h00 we were on our way searching for game.
The lodge has a really nice waterhole - you can sit and watch the elephants and buck all day long.
There is a small swimming pool at the main lodge too.
We would recommend this lodge to anyone- we absolutely loved it!
Thanks to all the staff- we will be back for sure!

It is hard to sum up how amazing our stay was at Thakadu, from amazing hospitality and food, friendly staff and rangers (Tshiamo was brilliant), clean rooms and attention to detail, Thakadu offered the most magical stay for me and my family! We really struggled to leave!

Initially we were delighted by the what we found an amazing bush camp in the middle of Madikwe game reserve. We arrived late at 6pm and had missed most activities for the afternoon that we were entitled to from check in at 2. We were checked in with no problems and had a great first evening. The Next day at breakfast we were summoned to an office and rudely told and accused of lying about the booking.
Via booking.com I had incorrectly put 1 person, instead of 2. I had apologize to them and asked for a break down of what was owed.(this was strange as we had been checked in without any notification) Initially they wanted to charge us double and when we enquired about this on booking.com they had said it is double what they’re recommended. At this stage are trip was beginning to become soured and the new rates seemed rather high considering we had only checked in at 6 the previous day and we decided to check out early. Aha and the camp still went and charged what they believed was the full price of my account without authorization. We then contacted Booking.com and they agreed with us and sent an email to the lodge in which they remained silent! I would not recommend this camp or any camp that is run by aha.
