Check out the photos as they do not lie. Gerhard gave us a lovely welcome and provided us with some very helpful advice on arrival. He booked restaurants as our stay included a Friday and Saturday night and there is a very efficient taxi service available to take you back and forth. We were shown to our room when dolphins were surfing the waves. The rooms are generous and very clean. Our room looked immediately out to sea with a patio offering a grand panoramic view. There is a well stocked fridge in the room offering drinks at very reasonable prices. Breakfasts were also top quality and I enjoyed the special, which was on offer every day. We slept very soundly in a very comfortable bed to the sound of the waves. Tip top!

Mes Amis is a lovely guest house, beautifully situated directly on the beach on a slight hill with a fantastic view of the sea and the miles of sandy beach. Our room was very spacious and equipped with everything you need (just a little note: there is no air conditioning). Minibar with various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at fair prices. Fantastic breakfast, individually and lovingly prepared for each guest. Gerhard was one of the most friendly hosts of our entire trip. He took care of everything and gave us tips on everything we could wish for. When once a privately booked driving service had charged us by mistake too much, he has called immediately there and with our next driving one has apologized and has given us a suitable discount. We felt totally welcome and would stay there again any time!

We loved staying at Mes Amis and would definitely return. It is perched above the beach with amazing views of the ocean. The room was bright and comfortable with French doors onto those views of the stunning beach. It is peaceful, all you can hear at night is the sea. The breakfast is delicious. Gerhard is very friendly and welcoming - he booked us into a great restaurant for dinner and gave us tips on where to go.

Location is incredible and it was the perfect setting to watch sunsets, walk on the beach and relax. We had a sea facing room which was clean and spacious. The king size bed was very comfortable and comparable to those found in 5 star hotels. Gerhard is an attentive, friendly host and went out of his way to assist us with reservations and recommendations for activities around the area. There is also a decent a la carte breakfast served between 7-9 every morning. We would happily stay at Mes Amis again.

Mesamis means my friends and truly, Gerhard and Anna treated my husband and I like their friends, by taking the time to get to know us over our six night stay. We appreciated their personalized friendly greeting every morning over breakfast and the great advice they gave for exploring Wilderness and the surrounds. They also went above and beyond to assist us in storing my husband's hang glider.

Breakfast was well portioned and there was a great variety of options each day. The Scotsman, oats with honey, cream and whiskey was a massive hit. The coffee was great.

Our room was exceptionally clean, it had all the amenities we needed and had amazing sea views. The beach was just a stair case away and we enjoyed many beach walks and beautiful sunsets.

We will definitely be returning again soon.

Stayed one night at the end of a 6 day Garden route tour. Firstly, wanted to extend a special thanks for allowing me to stay with my granddaughter, who was slightly below the minimum age of guests. I think the owners were slightly concerned that we might be a bit noisy in the pool, but we chose the gorgeous beach for some fun instead! More of that - access to the beach is straight from the room, down some slightly steep steps (not an issue for us, but be aware). Perfect for a stroll and a dip of the toes, but caution for swimming. Added bonus of dolphins! Great view from the room, with an ocean side view, gin and tonic in hand (from the well stocked muni bar).Wonderful to be able to sleep with the door open, and just the screen locked, and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Woke up refreshed, comfy beds, great shower and then to breakfast - what can I say. Best one of my week. Fantastic choice, gorgeous produce, delicious. Lovely daily printed menu with fun facts and quotes. My granddaughter loved it!

Mes Amis is in an excellent location and has a special "summer beach house" feel with spectacular ocean views and welcoming staff. The breakfast served in the morning is delicious and can be enjoyed while spotting whales out at sea. The rooms suit the easy, breezy, beachside holiday aesthetic. We will definitely stay again and recommend to those looking for a comfortable, clean and memorable experience.

We stayed two nights in this excellent guesthouse while visiting friends in Wilderness for a birthday party. We had seen the photos on line, and wanted to be overlooking the sea, and the place really lived up to these images. We had a very comfortable and quiet room with a little patio and sliding glass doors overlooking the gorgeous long beach below. The owners couldn't have been nicer, and they have obviously worked very hard to renovate this guesthouse and turn it into the gem that it now is. The room had a mini-fridge and coffee/tea makings, a big modern bathroom (also with views), and plenty of space. Breakfast was really excellent, with everything you could want, including fruits, muesli, yogurt and breads, as well as omelets and other hot food to order. There is parking in a secure parking lot at the property. There is direct beach access down some wooden stairs just off the parking lot, highly recommended to do long beach walks when you visit. We look forward to staying again in future! Thank you, and sorry for the delay in posting this review!

This was the best place we ever stayed, the place is beautiful & clean, décor excellent, sea view from both bedroom & patio breathtaking, the hosts Gerhard & Annatjie made us feel at home from the time we arrived, I would go back anyday. Lovely breakfast with a personal printed menu daily with added quotes, loved the idea. Lovely place.
