We stayed for 4 nights and hired both Sunbird and Loerie cabins. Accomodation was very nice and views of the lagoon and garden from the Sunbird cabin was spectacular! Belinda was very helpful and the cleaning staff made sure the rooms were kept clean with fresh towels daily. I would highly recommend staying at Waterside lodge and will definitely be back.

I absolutely loved my stay here! It was incredible! The place is beautiful cosy and spacious and perfectly secluded. The host is really sweet and helpful throughout the stay even with suggestions of what to do and where to go.
Across the property is a beautiful river that leads to the ocean which is amazing. The river has this beautiful track around it that you can follow for a short scenic stroll.
The area is friendly and safe and I loved everyone I met there

The room was as described. All was clean and tidy. Belinda and staff were helpful when required In.future we would probably choose the cottage on the road, as the view is superb. Easy walking fist ancestral to local restaurants Our dog was happy as the property is safe and secure for dogs.

We were indeed welcomed with a very warm heart by Belinda. But sadly that is where our four star experience stopped. Having worked in both 4 and 5 star guesthouses in Wilderness myself I was rather disappointed. I did not expect 4 instant coffee sachets. Luckily the Waves is around the corner where we could purchase coffee until Spar opened so we can purchase a big jar. Btw the coffee was never filled up for the next morning. A four star establishment should have some sort of turn around service. Definitely not just a call to find out if we need clean towels. The mattress is very warn out. The shower extremely small for what is called a honeymoon suite. The hole in the drain simply annoying. The basin by the toilet drained very slowly. The mirrors are spotty and can do with a replacement. Lightening also quite poor. Earbuds would have been a great addition- not for ears but my mascara that was all over due to the mirrors and light. I am not sure when last Waterside Lodge was graded but the four star claim is definitely very outdated.

Exquisite garden and water views from the deck gave a Mauritian feel without the humidity! The honeymoon suite was spacious and clean with an enormous bathroom. Hein was an attentive host and recommended an excellent restaurant within walking distance: Serendipity.

What a pleasant experience! Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Beautiful garden and view of the lagoon and ocean. Hospitality of the staff and Belinda, the Manageress, excellent. As a solo traveller she made sure I was happy and comfortable. Thank you all☺ The guest house is within walking distance of the village with its many restaurants, catering for every taste. I will for sure be back.

My partner and I stayed in the Blue Crane apartment from 30 December to 2 January 2024 and loved the experience. The lodge is close to all the restaurants, beach and Fairy Knowe backpackers, which made our activities very accessible.
The apartment itself was very modern, spacious, and clean. We especially enjoyed the braai area!
We will definitely be back this year and send a big thank you to the kind hosts, Sue and Hein!

Pet's welcomed and a lovely safe enclosed garden for them to play in. Does have a pool but we were stopping over for one night only. Short safe walk along the lagoon to good restaurants and shops. Would be a great venue for a big family holiday. No meals are provided and the room we were in didn't have any facilities for food prep. The other rooms however looked from the outside more approprate for longer stays.. So please ask. This is just over the road from the lagoon so please note their are mosquitos around!

Stayed for 6 nights in Loerie cabin. Excellent location for walking out to the many restaurants in Wilderness. Lovely setting for bird life but did not appreciate the doves calling at 4am every morning nor dogs barking in property behind! Found the room a bit on the small side for our length of stay but it was as described. Lighting was also poor but nice to be off grid so no issues with load shedding. Had a problem with the safe not opening but Hein was immensely helpful in getting it open so we could rescue our passports!

My 2nd stay at Waterside Lodge was as great as the first. Unit was slightly smaller but perfect for a solo traveler. Even though it was cold during the week that I stayed there, the Team made sure I had the necessary to keep warm. Thank you once again. Already looking forward to my next stay at Waterside Lodge.
