The guest house has only a few rooms and so the welcome and service is very personal. It is within walking distance of the town centre with easy shuttle transport back from any restaurant. The views of the river and sea are breathtaking. Breakfast at the guesthouse is of a very high quality with freshly baked goods etc.

One of the best Guest Houses we have stayed at in S. Africa. The room was excellent, with views over the lagoon to die for. Nothing had not been thought of. Our hosts Gerald and JD have made this Guest House a pleasure to stay.

My wife and I were very impressed by Wilderness manor - superbly appointed, welcoming and with an excellent breakfast. The chance to enjoy some conversation with the witty and engaging hosts was an extra bonus.

We stayed here for 2 nights and wished we'd stayed for longer. This place is truly fabulous and a must if you're staying in Wilderness. Everything about the place is perfect. As good as any 5 star hotel we've stayed in. The attention to detail is phenomenal. The best bit though is the service. Take their recommendations. They will be...

This place was simply fantastic and deserves 5 stars (official rating is 4 stars). Everything was perfect: from the free welcome drinks to the room, breakfast and location. The mattress and bedding was better than ours at home and the two owners incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The place was so comfortable and well appointed, and there is so much to...

We have stayed at Wilderness Manor several times over the years and it's always been a superb and spoiling experience, which we truly didn't think could be improved upon, but it just has. The owners launched a huge renovation program over last winter and have taken the guesthouse to new heights. All new bathrooms with fantastic power showers, super comfy...

We traveled as a couple and a close friend and had two spacious rooms. Stunning, inviting style and owners, impeccable cleanliness, relaxing furniture in open indoor areas. First class personal service and attention. This is definitely a guesthouse you would like to return to.

Another lovely stay with Gerald and JD in their fabulous guest house. We love Roon 4 with its balcony overlooking the Lagoon and the sea in the distance. The bathroom has been modernised this year and it's lovely. The attention to detail is amazing and we just love to be looked after so well. We look forward to our stay...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Almost halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth on the internationally renowned Garden Route and nestled between mountains and golden beaches, you will find one of South Africa's most favoured holiday destinations, the seaside village of Wilderness. Wilderness Manor is an elegant and refined guest house overlooking the beautiful Wilderness Lagoon, in the heart of the scenic village of Wilderness. Step out of the front door and cross the road onto the boardwalk for an easy and safe stroll to beaches, restaurants and village shops. Relax in the spacious guest lounge or reading lounge, with superb views from the balconies overlooking the lagoon. Wilderness Manor is luxuriously decorated in an African colonial style with fine oriental rugs, heirlooms, antiques, art and collectables which contribute to a refined and stylish ambience. Retire to the serenity of four stylish en-suite bedrooms: three luxury and spacious lagoon facing rooms on the second floor with superb views of the lagoon and one standard garden room on the ground floor with a private garden / patio. Look forward to our Continental buffet and English breakfast served in our breakfast room, opening onto a sunny balcony overlooking the indigenous forest where the Knysna Loerie often comes to feed... Whether you are passionate about water sports, hiking, extreme adventure or animal encounters, the Garden Route and Klein Karoo has something for you.
