Enjoy your stay in Wilderness!
I booked a family room on the ground floor but were given a double room on the first floor. After a heated talk with the manager it was rectified. The blame was put on Booking.com. So next time I will make sure that what I booked is what I want.
Had a wonderful two night stay, The room was really comfortable being able to sit on the waters edge. Enjoyed a day out on the hired canoes where the service was also excellent. Will definitely stop over again, or better spend a week.
We had a wonderful stay, beautiful newly-revamped rooms and great new restaurant. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Enjoyed kayaking and swimming. Helena, you are doing wonders with the hotel and thank you for making it wheelchair-friendly too!!
This was such a special spot....the breakfast was great, the staff was amazing and the room was really clean with comfortable beds. I just wish I had chosen to stay in the rooms overlooking the river..... next time I will know to do that.
It is such a good feeling returning to a hotel, that was always the gem on the Tour River in Wilderness, however, the hotel was run down and tired. To my surprise the owners have spent millions on restoring/refurbishing this gem. Currently they are only using the river-front rooms, however, the Rondavel Rooms won't be far from completion, then they only have the rooms in the hotel to work on. A new restaurant too, with a lovely deck serves a great buffet breakfast too. It is also open for lunch and dinner too. I can highly recommend this hotel, and I will definitely be back soon.
