Beautiful location and place. Had a lovely sea view from our rooms and enjoyed being close to the beach. All rooms were cleaned well and nicely decorated. Thank you for having us, Karen and Porsha, much appreciated.

We spent one night here as part of the Outenique mountainbike tour and arrived in the rain.

After a warm and friendly welcome we spent the night in the River Sanctuary cottage with a warm fireplace and the sound of the river just outside the cottage.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with basic amenities. It sleeps 7 people in two rooms with one bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and dining area.

We explored in the rain and found the typical beauty of the surrounding areas with beautiful flowers, dams and scenery.

Nice, comfortable self-catering cottages that's perfect after a long day out in nature.

Well located, close to Malls and other shops, unfortunately no signal, only at reception, but good to get away from technology, if you want that.

Accommodation is pleasant, with great nature walks, very enjoyable.

We stayed at Kingfisher so can't speak to other locations at BTM

We have stayed a number of times at Beyond the Moon, always appreciating the peacefulness and the location, however it has to be said that over the years things have deteriorated a fair bit.

The supply of utensils is woefully inadequate. No decent knives....no decent anything, Pathetic cutlery.

There is very little useful clothing storage space as the cupboards lack proper shelves -they basically just have hanging space.

The loungers that used to be provided have seemingly vanished.

We found unwashed pots and pans on the shelves together with the clean items.

There were no provisions for load-shedding, just a very few candles (with broken candlesticks).

Like many other holiday accommodations poor quality dish-washing liquid is provided and little to no accessories such as sponges/dishtowels etc.

The shower still floods after about 3-4 mins of showering.

In this day and age its also just not feasible to be cut off from all electronic communication. You can get a (weak) cellphone signal and possible 3G Data near the entrance to the farm but absolutely nothing in the house itself.

At the very least WiFi should be provided as one of our children was sick and it was impossible for us to search for an appropriate doctor from where we were located.

I understand that no much can be done about cellphone reception but there are a myriad of ways to provide WIFI in awkward locations.

Despite all this we enjoyed out time there - and the complaints come out of frustration with the potential of the location not being fully realized. There are simple and affordable fixes to these and other problems.

The place is a hidden gem in the Outeniqua mountains! We stayed at River Sanctuary en enjoyed every minute of the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. One can sit outside or inside next to the fire while enjoying the bush and birds!

Beyond the Moon, a place of such tranquil beauty hidden in the hills of Hoekwil, Wilderness was the perfect venue for our nephew's wedding. The ceremony was held in the forest surrounded by trees and birdsong, followed by the function in the beautifully restored barn. Our cottage was pretty, clean and spacious, and overlooked a dam filled with waterlilies and birdlife. We will definitely stay there again.

Beyond the Moon has changed owners, and the cottages have all been revamped and furnished with great care. We stayed in Froggy Lodge for a long weekend in July - we had lots of rain and with two young explorers, lots of mud! Froggy Lodge has a lovely fireplace in the living room which was put to good use, and the gracious hosts provided wood for the first evening (more for sale on the farm if needed). The cottage is well appointed and spacious, and any queries we had were quickly addressed. The pond and small boat were enjoyed, although it was too cold for a swim. The baboons in the area are quite large - but did not make too much of a nuisance of themselves. The cottages are located out of the hustle and bustle of town, but you can reach Knysna or Sedgefield in just a few minutes, still perfect for a day trip.

The owners are lovely people. 10/10 hospitality - Loved the fact that they supply you with all amenities even firewood (as much as you need) The fresh, white linen and super comfortable mattress was one of the best night's sleep in a long time. I got to experience the freedom and peace I had been longing for and now I know exactly where to go when life gets too overwhelming! Absolutely stunning venue!

First this place is not in the Wilderness it is 14 km from the wilderness.
All though this place is in a picturesque setting, the forest walks were amazing ,the cottage itself is very manky, and not equipped to handle the heat , being in the forest , it would be advisable for them to put nets on the windows and doors so in the extreme heat, you can open the windows without having a bugs and mosquitoes in the cottages , They should also look at putting some fans in the cottage and at least letting there be clean running water from the kitchen tap , as using river water to cook and clean your self cant really be hygienic . We had to cut our holiday short by 4 days due to this .
My husband really enjoyed the out side shower , the staff were very kind and the outside of the cottage was well maintained and stocked with fire wood .

A few (15?) k above Wilderness, this is reached on good roads until their estate where clearance was nearly an issue

We stayed in the Riverside Sanctuary, enough beds for seven but just two of us.

The room has all you need without getting ott and has a great braii next to a chattering river. There's an outdoor shower that is perfect and a woodland walk on site that was gentle and gave us the chance to spy baboons and antelope. At night we saw fireflies, but sadly no monkeys but we did hear them!

What a great spot - braii wood included! There is an internal fire place for the Winter too.
