My wife and I stayed here in 2018 on the recommendation of friends who visited Hilltop Country Lodge in 2017.
We booked another stay in 2020 on our way from George to Plettenberg Bay.g
When our host showed us our room (room #5), I exclaimed that we should have booked for a week!
Standard part of the introduction, while standing on the garden in front of the house, is that Hennie Schoeman points to several restaurants in Wilderness.
The breakfast is one of the most sumptuous breakfasts that I have ever seen. Fruit salad, eggs made to your preference, freshly toasted bread, jams and delicious tea.
While we enjoyed our breakfast, the owner brought us up to date on several South-African historic and contemporary facts.
Should we decide that we want to play again at the George Golf Club and in need to stay somewhere, there is absolutely no question of choice for me. It will be at the Hilltop Country Lodge.

Christine is the ultimate host, making sure we were pampered throughout our stay with such attention to detail. The kids loved the big garden, the pool and the tv area. Breakfast was delicious. If we didn’t have to go to our next reservation, we would have stayed longer. We will definitely come back one day!

We stayed at the Hilltop Boutique Hotel for 4 nights with 3 kids and we could not have asked for a better place to spend our holidays. The location is stunning with amazing beach view, the garden is beautiful and well-maintained, the rooms spacious for parents and kids. However, what made this place truly magical is the personal touch put in every detail by the owners. They made us feel very welcome, spoilt us with a delicious breakfast, helped us with restaurant reservations and shared some insider knowledge about the area and offered our kids even a movie night with popcorn and hot chocolate. It was a special stay which we will always remember.

We spent four nights here at a very busy time of year. Loved it. It was the best bed (firm and large with quality linen) and shower (instant hot water and a solid grab rail) we have ever had away from home. The country was on stage 6 load shedding, but Hilltop has full solar power - what a pleasure. The view from the room is magnificent.

This is a beautiful spot, with good, friendly service. A lovely place to hang out, and a good base for activities in the area. Minor glitches with the room were fixed immediately. Extra touches like beach umbrellas for a day on the beach were very helpful.

My friend and I stayed at Hilltop Boutique Hotel In February. We had had a long
and difficult journey from Cape Town in misty rainy weather in an under-powered
hire car on mountain roads, so we arrived very tired and hungry. We were greeted
by Christine and Shane who were so welcoming and helpful, and went out of their
way to arrange dinner for us and anything else we needed.
We could not see the view from our room as the weather was so poor, but what a
surprise to wake up the following morning to the most magnificent view of Wilderness
Bay and the surrounding mountains. Absolutely breathtaking. A beautiful part of
the world.
We visited George and Knysna and the Cango Wildlife Sanctuary at Oudshoorn where
we interacted and stroked the cheetah cubs, lemurs, and the adult cheetah.
It was a truly memorable experience. The following day we went to the Ostrich Farm
and had a tour around the farm and held a baby ostrich. The drive to Oudshoorn was
spectacular – so mountainous and green.
On the day we left we had a very early flight to Kruger at 5am. Christine and Shane
were there to say goodbye and had packed a substantial breakfast basket for us.
We can’t recommend their hospitality highly enough.

Clean and comfortable accommodation with the most amazing view of the coastline. Hennie is an excellent host. Make the time to take the walk on the property, takes about 30 minutes, beautiful indigenous gardens and breathtaking views.

My wife and I stayed at Hilltop Boutique Hotel for a long weekend. We truly enjoyed the visit and we could do some serious resting!.

The Hotel is beautifully decorated, and the hosts (Shane and Christine) are very attentive and helpful. It seems they are never NOT there and they always have a hand to help, and a tip or two on restaurants and wine farms to visit. A wonderful experience.

What a wonderful place to go when you need a break from it all. Situated within a comfortable enough distance to feel like you're escaping, but still accessible to shops and restaurants and other amenities. The view is absolutely spectacular and the rooms are tranquil and very comfortable. I honestly cannot wait to go back!

Good day, We are a few kilometers out of town. A rental car is advisable because there are beautiful things to see and lots of activities and walking trails to do. There are many reatarants within 10 min drive from us. We do offer breakfast. Warm regards Magda Schoeman
