We stayed for one night at the Pink Lodge on our way back down the Garden Route to Cape Town. Tim was incredibly helpful and accommodating and the view from our room over the Ocean was outstanding. It is very conveniently located in Wilderness and well worth a visit.

The location is the best. Tim is the best. The breakfast is the best and the view is the best. I have been coming here for over 10 years now and cannot thank Tim enough (and his staff) for my wonderful stay. Nothing is too much to ask from Tim, everything dished up with a smile and professionalism. I look forward to the next 10 years. Thank you again for accommodating me and wishing you the best for 2022!

The host Tim was truly a magnificent host. Friendly and supportive and most of all he loves dogs. However, I found his staff to be incompetent. When you have a pet friendly place I would assume there is someone tending the lawn and outside area. For the entire week that I was there I saw not a single person clean outside. I asked the inside cleaners on numerous occasions where the bins are. They asked me to leave the bags and they will take it away. It remained outside for almost the entire period we stayed there. Every time we went outside we had to see this unpleasantness. It was hard to enjoy the spectacular beach views when nobody is cleaning up. We are always responsible to clean up after our pets but others weren't. Plus the front of the unit had a disgusting pile of unpleasantness that we had to pass a few days to get into our apartment. I actually asked Tim to get his staff to clean up but till we left nobody had bothered.

Response from Tim Marthinusen, General Manager at The Pink Lodge on the Beach
Responded 21 Jan 2022
It was a great pleasure to have May and her family to stay. Her comments about cleaning uo after pets are welcome, in that I have taken steps to ensure that this situation does not repeat itself. We are a pet friendly establishment, and only ask that owners look after their own pets. It is unfair to ask our housekeeping staff to attend to issues outside, and in many cases they would not understand what is being said . We do have a gardener, but he only works on weekdays, and that is when most of these issues occurred. In future there will not be a cause to complain, as this issue will be sorted out.... Thank you May

The lodge is excellently located right on the beach. Tim the owner was friendly and always up for a chat. However, the lodge itself is extremely outdated and old fashioned and is in serious need of a revamp. Couches were stained and when we asked the cleaner, she just said it wasn’t wet and left the room. There was mould growing on the chair in the one room. The bath tub was rusted and as a whole was not appealing. Definitely does not meet the 4 star standard and was not worth the money spent! Would not recommend!
