Could be little more friendly and breakfast was a joke, everyone was trying to grab food at the same time. If they prepared before hand it would have made a big difference. The entertainment area wasn't always accessible.

Very nice back packers.
AWESOME location and view.
Linen was new and clean, beds were comfy.
Would have appreciated a box under the beds to keep valuables, but otherwise it was great.
Also, maybe have a few more signs along the way.

If you want a cheap place to enjoy Wilderness, you will have a good value for money at Wild Farm with breakfast included. But the vibe is really weird with some old drunk men roaming around and specially roaming around young women. I would definitely not recommend for a solo female traveler

Yes man, this place has a view for days!

Unfortunately it end there. While enjoying the scenery; I was hit by a sewage smell that turned my gut. This was blowing up the valley directly onto the camping area.
The other thing is that the bar draws some strange characters from below that didn't help with the vibe or turd smell.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Wild Farm in Wilderness and it was one of our favourite stops along the Garden Route. First of all, this place is located on a beautiful spot atop a hill with great views of the beach. It's a little ways outside the town, but that's the beauty of it - you're surrounded by nature! We usually hitched a ride into the town if the staff had errands to run, but otherwise you can just walk downhill - distance was never a factor.

In terms of the room, we stayed in one of the little cottages with an en suite bathroom and it was perfect for a couple - we had hot showers and the room was spacious enough for us. Breakfast was available every morning and you also had the option of signing up for dinner and having a communal meal with the other guests. The food was great, affordable, and we especially enjoyed the braai on our last night. The staff was super friendly and easy going - we really enjoyed getting to know them and hearing their stories. They're all free spirits living the life they want.

If you enjoy the outdoors, this area has lots to offer. We went canoeing, hiking, and also followed the train tracks out to the caves. We seriously loved this area and could have extended our stay had we not had a flight to catch!

This backpackers can be such a gem, but bad management and not caring about the business & facilities makes it awful. Dirty (actually filthy) kitchen and bathrooms, cob webs everywhere in rooms, rude managers. They really need to go on Hotel (Backpackers) Nightmares / Hell...

I dont usualy write reviews but this was my favorite back packers that I stayed at along the garden route! Breathtaking views, clean lodging, amazing free day trips and most of all amazing people!!! My friend and I felt at home our first night and spent the next three days exploring waterfalls, beaches, forests, and an incredible cave in the surounding area, all trips led by Chris who is THE MAN and cooked two of the best meals I’ve ever had (braii and sea food). Just go, do it

We had a wonderful experience at Wild Farm. Surrounded by nature with an amazing view and happy people :)
This place is perfect for relaxing and feeling connected to nature.

Especially the adventurous hikes and delicious braais with Chris made our visit very enjoyable. He took us to beautiful waterfalls, went to the shop with us and then prepared a huge dinner for around 10 people. This service you can't find anywhere... We just felt very welcome!

We would definitely recommend this to anyone :)

Ever shown up to high school house party a little late? That one girl who was kinda friends with your younger sister is stumbling around telling people how "free and alive" she feels. Meanwhile, three guys in the corner, most of which are pushing 18, are taking shots and chanting. Now imagine all those party-goers decide in a drunken stupor to run a hostel. You now have a picture of the staff running this establishment.

The place is run by young, international volunteers who seem to have no clue what they are doing. The staff that shows you to your room is the same staff you’ll see stumbling around late into the night shouting and singing an off-key rendition of ‘Hey Jude.’

However, as for the actual accommodation, it wasn’t bad. The view, as other reviewers have noted, is quite beautiful. The rooms are acceptable (aside from the fact that our door wouldn’t properly close) and seem to be regularly maintained. Cleaning and maintenance appear to be fulfilled by local staff while the international volunteers lay around the couches and nurse their hangovers.

It should also be noted that there are two roads to the destination. If, Odin forbid, you decide to stay here, do not follow the Google maps route. It will take you up a road that is highly inadvisable with a 2X4 car. The road is not so bad but it is littered with potholes and jagged rocks. Perhaps ‘management’ could encourage their vast collection of volunteers to spend a day or two to working on the road. Otherwise, there is a road on the other side that is much better (although still questionable with a 2X4).

Long story short: good views, okay accommodation, bad roads, unqualified staff, and awkward vibes. Unless you travel with a beer funnel and four ‘Sun’s Out, Guns Out’ tank tops, this probably isn’t the place for you.

Room Tip: The blaring EDM music probably isn't as audible in rooms away from the common area.
