Detailed Reviews
Wow what and amazing place. We stayed in Hope Cottage which sleeps 4 comfortably.
The cottage is well appointed and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
Lesley and her staff are friendly and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
There’s lots of things to do in close proximity to Meadow Lane from fishing in the dam on the property, to riding, trail running or walking in the Sami Spoors Trails or visiting many of the attractions in and around Underberg.
We’ll definitely be back.

We absolutely loved our stay at love cottage. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed.
It was very peaceful sitting on the veranda in the trees watching the birds and friendly peacocks.
Lesley was great and we were so lucky that there was a cancellation, as we had been double booked down the road. As it happens we were thrilled.
The Sani spoor trails are right on the doorstep for mountain biking.

Great location. The holiday homes are located in an oasis of peace. Excellent base for South Drakensberg. Nice holiday home with everything you need (e.g. kitchen, fridge, braai). Good communication via telephone.

We recently spent 5 nights over Christmas at Meadow Lane Country Cottages. We stayed in Grace Cottage which has everything you need - only thing that could've been better was a bigger fridge.
Lesley was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful and well cared for. We spent our days going over Sani Pass - 50km's away to the very top, Hiking Drak Gardens - 25km's along the same road and exploring the local area.
I was surprised how lovely our cottage was considering how reasonably priced it is, had expected less - fireplace worked like a charm!
Close enough to Underberg Spar - 5-10mins drive - to pop in for the occasional grocery shop.
Highly recommend Meadow Lane Cottages.

We had a 2 night self catering stay in the Hope cottage at Meadow Lane Country Cottages.
When we arrived the rooms were clean. The kitchen has all the essentials: fridge, oven, stove, microwave and even a coffee plunger with grounded coffee on the house.
We did some bass fishing and hiking at Drakensberg gardens which is about 2km away. There are about 5 different hiking trails. The Sani Spoons mtb trails passes this venue.

If you just want to get away and relax, feel close to mountains and rivers and enjoy a good braai/evening fire, then this will suit you. Cottages are all joined together so neighbourly love is a must!
The small dam provides fishing opportunities to a dedicated angler targeting bass.
Meadowlane is close to Underberg and other Berg attractions so there is plenty to do during the daytime.
Make sure that you ask detailed questions about your cottage before you book:
ie: does it have a fireplace, does the cottage have a verandah that opens onto the dam side, is your braai facility facing the dam or the car park.
Overall the experience was very pleasant and the owner Leslie was very accommodating.

Breathtakingly beautiful scenery, peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, superbly spotless and clean interior... Some of the things to describe the best holiday destination. Meadow Lane left a mark in my heart, from the surprise of seeing the beautiful peacocks to meeting two cute loving puppies, Meadow Lane was a refreshing, memorable experience. The cottages felt like home with subtle touches of love, grace and spirituality, everything was so convenient. Highly recommended to everyone who needs to unwind and find ones true self, gain utmost rest and experience nature at its best.

What a wonderful place and the great hosts who made us feel at home. The cottage was clean and the property looks like a picture garden. It was great spending time at the dam with my daughter and she caught her first fish.

my partner informed me we going away to underberg and staying at Meadow Lane for 3 nights. we arrived on Mon 24th Sept and the setting is absolutely stunning with very neat well laid out cottages. the atmosphere is very relaxed and at reception our keys were hanging on the hook outside. we checked into Joy Cottage which is a two sleeper and everything in place for a pleasant get away. Lesley the owner popped in later in the afternoon just to check up on things and the whole atmosphere is so relaxed and pleasant with no stress. the dogs came to say hello and the resident peacocks/hens love taking bread from ones hand. the staff are all very friendly and courteous and it is extremely affordable. we will definately be going back.

This was our second visit to Meadow Lane. We love Grace cottage as it is ideal for a family. The cottage is lovely, clean and welcoming. Beds are extremely comfortable and it's lovely to sit in front of the fireplace in the evenings. The kids can run around freely and you know they are safe. There is a lovely walk that can be accessed and is just right for younger children to be able to manage. We love the friendly doggies, horses, donkey and peacocks. Very tranquil surroundings and the perfect place to go to unwind.
