Nice central location near Umhlanga village. The host, Greg, was friendly and helpful. Small but cosy and comfortable room with great shower! Coffee & tea making facilities and small fridge. Lovely garden and pool area. We found it a great base from which to explore the area.

I booked this accommodation about a year ago when my son decided that he would like to be married in Durban. The wedding was taking place at Coastlands Hotel ,in Umhlanga ,on the 13June 2015, so it was most convenient for us, being 5 minutes away, as all the final preparations were being done for at the house. The booking was from 10 to 16 June 2015. When we arrived in Durban, I asked Greg as to what is the earliest time we can book in, as we had a number of service providers to meet with, and he very obligingly said that it would be ready by 12 noon. When we checked in, Greg's mom Jess was there to welcome us and said that Greg would be there soon. He arrived just then, showed us around and was very accommodating when I asked him if it was alright for us to have a big family lunch on Sunday 14 June, as most of our guests from Johannesburg were flying back in the evening. On Sunday morning he was there to ensure that we had everything we needed for the lunch. I rented out the whole house including the Granny cottage, so there was no disturbance to anyone else. The house and cottage is very upmarket, well furnished ,clean and is serviced everyday except Sundays, but Greg got the cleaner in for us on Sunday at no charge. We were very comfortable there for the week, and will most definitely go back. My family and friends were most impressed with the property, and are also looking to use the accommodation as well in the future. Thank you Greg.

Wow, wow and wow is all I can say. Speechless, yes! Place is fantastic . Owners Greg , Jess and Bruce , best hosts ever. House is huge and can accommodate a large family easily , all rooms are big with TVs and aircon for your comfort. Big comfortable beds and cleaned on a daily basis by the two ever so lovely house cleaners . I have been to so many self catering houses/apartments on my holidays and No 8 gunda crescent tops it 100% . Going to the beach by umhlanga village is only a 5 min ride by uber , taxi or your own car . The village itself is very beautiful with so many restaurants to eat and dine. I would 100% recommend no 8 gunda crescent . I know where I am going to stay again when I visit umhlanga rocks/Durban . The house is situated at the perfect place in between the magnificent gateway shopping mall and village . The kids enjoyed the swimming pool everyday , which is kept clean regularly . To Bruce , your lovely wife Jess and Greg . Thank you so much for making us feel at home. Your hospitality made us feel so welcome , please continue your marvellous work . We will be back soon . Most memorable holiday ever.

Had to make a booking in Durban at last minute...according to Booking.com at 99% occupancy rate. Usually dont go the guesthouse route, but this was the best of the 3 places that still had a room.
Had to make arrangements about keys/entrance etc as it was evening, but a friendly lady waited for us.
Showed us to our little room and suggested that we do payment next day. They do have card facilities. Smallish room but high class decorating, compact bathroom with shower and high quality bedding. Felt safe and secure, area peacefull and quiet. You do need a car for getting around, and there is safe parking. Full dstv bouquet and free wifi. Close to shopping and ocean.

The accommodation was comfortable, neat and clean. Linen fresh and crisp, lovely towels just a pity that it was an open style bathroom. The amenities in the bathroom made me think of my "grandmother" good old plastic bottle with hand wash -
The little kitchenette had all the necessary, just a bit of lived in feeling with no dish cloths to dry dishes and no teaspoons, an absolute minimum coffee/tea provided.
It was wonderful to have a full bouquet when it came to TV programs. Lovely open veranda with ample of seating. Close to the shopping center and a short drive to the beach.

This B&B is just up the hill from the village, a R20-30 ride to Gateway and the beach if you don't want to walk it, especially up.
It is very clean, comfortable bed and lovely shower. It offers complementary soaps and coffee /tea but not breakfast, which i advice to have in Mug and Bean at Gateway shopping center or down by the beach at Vovo Telo.
My room was the smallest on the right and the wifi did not reach, despite this i ended up staying three nights , one extra than planned , because owners are very friendly and kind and make me feel at home. There are some pool side rooms, with view of the sea, which are bigger and i suppose the wifi will reach. I maybe advice owners to price the small room on the right where i stayed a bit less than others. All rooms are very tastefully decorated so this is not your basic B&B it feels a little upper class :D
Overall a great stay and highly recommend , i will go myself again next time i am around.
