I stayed here for two nights. The room is very spacious, the bathroom offers two basins, a bath and shower. Our room overlooked the pool. Very comfortable stay and the hospitality made our stay here even better. We will definitely be back.

On my recent holiday my accommodation was booked from the 3 April and I have decided to leave earlier than plan therefore I needed place to stay for 2 nights. The Ridgesea was the right fit for us (hubby, me and the 2 grandkids). It is well maintained, staff is friendly and helpful. The best was the manner in which they handled my grandkids in meeting their needs in the morning at breakfast. Breakfast was excellent and well served. Will visit again.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here as my boyfriend was running the Comrades marathon for the second time and we weren't overly impressed with Durban last year. Umhlanga was a much better location for us and Ridgesea Guest House is perfectly located for the beach, bars and restaurants - all within walking distance. The guest house is adequately equipped, spacious, light and airy. Our room was particularly spacious and comfortable. But the main reason we would stay here again is Felicity's hospitality. Before we arrived she had helped me with recommendations on places to eat in the area. We then received a warm welcome upon arrival and Felicity was always on hand but not in any way obtrusive creating a very laid back atmosphere. She ensured we felt comfortable during our stay and even made my boyfriend a chocolate birthday cake as we were celebrating that during our stay. Breakfast, as mentioned in other reviews, was outstanding. We will be back!

Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly owner who showed us to our room.
Rooms are on point and very beautiful and spacious too. There is WiFi, bar fridge n couch. Pity it was a cold weekend so we couldn't use the pool nor chill outside.
Breakfast was nice and fresh.
Shops and restaurants are close by just a walking distance.
Overall my stay was beautiful and would recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet, affordable, safe stay around umhlanga

A beautiful little guest house, closely situated next to the beach. It is really quite lovely, with very friendly staff. The height of our stay, was watching the Owner/Manager, feed the monkeys. The breakfast is also quite yummy. There was however a mix up with our room. We spent our first night in a really tiny room. The staff went out of their way to ensure our next night was more comfortable on their own and moved us to a bigger, way more comfortable room. The refreshments are resupplied daily, which is great. There is no kitchen, so no way to wash your dishes, unless you take them to the bathroom. Otherwise a generally pleasurable stay.

Response from Felicity C, Manager at Ridgesea Guest House
Responded 13 Jul 2017
Dear Jarrod Thank you for your feedback on your stay at Ridgesea Guest House. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. I would just like to point out that you booked and were charged accordingly for a standard room on the Agoda website and were given a standard room. When a superior room was available we upgraded you at no extra cost to yourself to a superior room. Our listing on the website does not state that we are a self catering establishment therefore the rooms do not have kitchens but cups are replaced every day when the rooms are cleaned. We would be delighted to welcome you back to Ridgesea Guest House. Kind regards Felicity Cooke Ridgesea Guest House

Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed stay. Received a warm welcome and friendly service throughout our stay. Clean rooms and very comfortable beds, bathrooms are great. Felicity and her staff always goes the extra mile to accommodate any requests. Secure and safe parking on the premises with a security guard at night. Quick walk to nearby popular restaurants and trendy shops. Great breakfasts. Will return again and again. Felicity makes it feel like home with her friendly staff.

Ridgesea will, without a doubt, meet all your expectations. The place is gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and spotless. The breakfast was amazing and the staff super friendly esp. Felicity who made the stay that much better with her hospitality. The area is quite, walking distance to all amenities.
This guesthouse will definitely be my choice of accommodation whenever we go to Durban!

Absolutely Loved It!

Also the only Guesthouse I know of that caters Halaal Breakfast which was the cherry on Top
