What a total disaster …

From checking in, to room cleanliness and breakfast, a total huge disappointment.

To focus on some positives:

The bedding was fresh and clean and the room smelled good.
The bathroom was stocked well with soap, shampoo, ect.
The pools are beautiful and well kept with beautiful lawns.

Unfortunately, this is where it ends.

We had our share of having a decent size spider in the room, lots of dirt behind the beds.

Breakfast was appalling.
The kitchen staff made re-toast and when complaining about it, and ask for fresh toast, they were not friendly at all.

The All Bran Flakes were not fresh, even the coffee was not enjoyable.

Asking for bottled sparkling water, we were told they don’t stock it.

The Sibaya lodge is imprinting a very negative image on the Sun International group as a whole.

We will certainly not be back at the Sibaya Lodge and it is surely not value for money.

My view of a Sun International lodge would be an awesome factor, this lodge is below average. Rooms are standard but clean.
Breakfast is standard bacon, eggs sausages and two sides- but quiet expensive in comparison to other hotel offering a continental breakfasts. Kids under 18 are not free.
No room service.
My parents are elderly and cannot walk a distance, I have also noticed the hotel does not have wheelchairs

Breakfast staff are very inhospitable and arrogant

We stayed at this hotel for one night because it is not very far from the airport.
We appreciated the availability of the staff upon our arrival who gave us good advice. In particular, they dissuaded us from going where we had planned to go, because it was a Sunday, therefore less crowded and less secure.
(They helped us find our way elsewhere).
The rooms have everything you need and it's clean.
There are several dining options in the building next door (the Casino), which is convenient.
We didn't use the pool, but our room had a nice view of the outside and the pool which is large.

The Bed is broken. You only recieve two bath towels, despite them knowing u are 4. No fridge available. No draws on the dressing table. And they advertise rooms that are not the same and smart in person. V old furniture. Very untidy sleeper couch bed made by two ladies that were v lazy to dust and tuck in.

We recently stayed at the lodge and was very disappointed with the service, there is NO customer service at all at this place. Asked for an iron at 7 am waited for an hour no response. Eventually walked around and located an iron left in passage. Went to reception at 10:30 asked them about the iron was told all are out, noticed a iron and a board kept close to the reception area. Questioned this and received a blank look. On our arrival we had a trolley full of stuff, the guy saw me battling to hold the door open and push the trolley into the hotel he just sat there smiling, the security guard stood there trying not to look. Looking at all the comments on this platform it seems it is a norm at this hotel and nothing is done about the poor service.
Found ants full on the seat at breakfast , notified the waiter all she said was we will get someone to attend to it. We had our breakfast and still no one addressed the issue. Reminded her again and all she said they are coming . Terrible service

There is not much to do on the property itself except you can spend a day pampering yourself at the Mangwanani Spa, relax by the pool with a drink or two, try your luck at the casino, or indulge in some delicious food. My favourite was the award-winning steakhouse franchise – Butcher Block.

Butcher Block was so good that I had to visit it twice to try more items on their menu. Also, ask for Pam. 😊 She is amazing!

So good company is a must. 😉 I have so many special memories at Sibaya with family and friends.

Very run down. No fridge in the room. Holes on the curtains and carpets were very worn. Not recommended at all. We had an interleaving room with a door between us and the people next door. We heard everything they were saying. We heard their child crying at 12 o clock at night. So flippen frustrating when you are trying to sleep. A very expensive place for so few nicities

The Lodge is very clean. It is located in a very serene and beautiful area in Durban. The view by the pool is awesome and the greenery is a sight to behold. The breakfast is delicious and nice and fresh. The staff are also very warm and friendly.

It's a great bed and breakfast hotel. And they have a beautiful spa if you want to spoil yourself.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The rooms have a damp and mouldy smell. The carpets look old and outdated. There is mould growing in the showers.

We went out in the morning and went back to the room at 3pm and the room was not serviced. We went out again on our return that evening the complimentary coffee was not refilled. When trying to call reception the call did not go through. We went to reception to ask for the refill and the receptionist said she can hear us talking but we can not hear them. We ask them to look at the phone they said it is working. The next morning we called reception again but had the same problem.

We asked for a iron they said there is no staff and we need to come collect it from reception.

As a Hotelier myself this was the worst experience I received from a 3 star establishment.

Surely sun international can't be proud of this
We couldn't get hold of reception so had zero service
Our shower and bathroom were just NASTY , need a good clean
The passages and rooms smell damp and musty
I hope travelers arriving from other countries don't think that this standard is normal in South Africa

It helps if you are a platinum card member at the casino. Otherwise it depends on the hotel management .

Hi Abimakin , there is no gym available. there are gyms in Umhlangsa about 10km away at the Gateway shopping centre and crescent Shopping centre. These are private gyms and you will have to pay for this
