From checking in, to room cleanliness and breakfast, a total huge disappointment.
To focus on some positives:
The bedding was fresh and clean and the room smelled good.
The bathroom was stocked well with soap, shampoo, ect.
The pools are beautiful and well kept with beautiful lawns.
Unfortunately, this is where it ends.
We had our share of having a decent size spider in the room, lots of dirt behind the beds.
Breakfast was appalling.
The kitchen staff made re-toast and when complaining about it, and ask for fresh toast, they were not friendly at all.
The All Bran Flakes were not fresh, even the coffee was not enjoyable.
Asking for bottled sparkling water, we were told they don’t stock it.
The Sibaya lodge is imprinting a very negative image on the Sun International group as a whole.
We will certainly not be back at the Sibaya Lodge and it is surely not value for money.
Breakfast is standard bacon, eggs sausages and two sides- but quiet expensive in comparison to other hotel offering a continental breakfasts. Kids under 18 are not free.
No room service.
My parents are elderly and cannot walk a distance, I have also noticed the hotel does not have wheelchairs
Breakfast staff are very inhospitable and arrogant
We appreciated the availability of the staff upon our arrival who gave us good advice. In particular, they dissuaded us from going where we had planned to go, because it was a Sunday, therefore less crowded and less secure.
(They helped us find our way elsewhere).
The rooms have everything you need and it's clean.
There are several dining options in the building next door (the Casino), which is convenient.
We didn't use the pool, but our room had a nice view of the outside and the pool which is large.

Found ants full on the seat at breakfast , notified the waiter all she said was we will get someone to attend to it. We had our breakfast and still no one addressed the issue. Reminded her again and all she said they are coming . Terrible service

Butcher Block was so good that I had to visit it twice to try more items on their menu. Also, ask for Pam. 😊 She is amazing!
So good company is a must. 😉 I have so many special memories at Sibaya with family and friends.
It's a great bed and breakfast hotel. And they have a beautiful spa if you want to spoil yourself.
We went out in the morning and went back to the room at 3pm and the room was not serviced. We went out again on our return that evening the complimentary coffee was not refilled. When trying to call reception the call did not go through. We went to reception to ask for the refill and the receptionist said she can hear us talking but we can not hear them. We ask them to look at the phone they said it is working. The next morning we called reception again but had the same problem.
We asked for a iron they said there is no staff and we need to come collect it from reception.
As a Hotelier myself this was the worst experience I received from a 3 star establishment.
We couldn't get hold of reception so had zero service
Our shower and bathroom were just NASTY , need a good clean
The passages and rooms smell damp and musty
I hope travelers arriving from other countries don't think that this standard is normal in South Africa
