All the units are classified as wheelchair friendly and in essence they are. The only problem is that the bathrooms can only be classed as tiny, with no chance of a wheelchair fitting through the door. On the 5th and 9th floors, there is a disabled bathroom outside in the passage, located between units 1 and 2 on those floors, that provide spacious facilities and a shower with a built-in shower chair.
The lounge and outside space are accessible, with a disabled bathroom located on Floor 0 where the lounge/restaurant/spa/hairdresser are. The pathway outside to the beach and promenade is a little steep but quite do-able in a wheelchair. Likewise with the wooden pathway to the Hawaan forest, although there are some steep areas that require a push.

For Eco-tourism enthusiasts the location of Breakers is ideal alongside the Umhlanga Lagoon Nature reserve (Bird Park/protected lands), were you can view amazing flora and fauna while lounging on the hotel property. The Umhlanga board walk is a must for incredible walks with spectacular Indian ocean views. A large selection of great resto/bar options within close proximity.

With regards to the amenities, these are the major issues that we experienced:
Firstly, our unit was advertised as a 6 sleeper, but in actuality it could only fit four people. The sleeper couch was made for small children as anyone taller than one meter would not fit due to the base of the couch ending far shorter than usual. We contacted reception to enquire about this matter and they simply advised us to use the couch cushions at the end of the sleeper couch to provide support for the legs and feet. This is totally unacceptable as this did not solve the underlying problem and as a result to two people who had to sleep on the sleeper couch were not able to rest comfortably. Over and above this, they don't provide a duvet for the people sleeping on the sleeper couch and reception refused to give us one upon request.
Secondly, the floors in the unit were absolutely disguising and clearly no one bothered to clean them before we arrived. We asked reception to clean the floors, however failed to do so time and time again.
Thirdly, with regards to the kitchen, we only had 5 plates for a 6 person unit, the resort failed to provide us with a dish sponge to clean the plates (we ended up having to buy our very own sponge, on our own dime of course), there was not cutlery holders in the draws to organise the cutlery and the dishes weren't properly cleaned when we first arrived.
Fourthly, the bathrooms are far from luxurious. The one bathroom at the entrance of the unit is so small that you couldn't swing a cat in it. It is soo tiny, yet the cost to stay at the Breakers is so high, this simply doesn't add up.
Fifthly, we wanted to purchase uShaka tickets with the Breakers, however after numerous attempts to try and buy such tickets, we were unsuccessful as the leisure office was always closed. Honestly this is so unprofessional and we just ended up buying them online.
Lastly, the marginal WiFi offered to guests didn't even work throughout our entire trip, so sad!
Therefore, it is safe to assume that I wont be coming back to this resort and I don't recommend anyone else to do the same. There are far better resorts and hotels in the area that are superb and cost the same or less.
What a shame!

Lifts are slow and during my stay one was always out of service.
I have been staying at Breakers for more than 20 years, in the last 5 years there has been a steady decline in service and value for money.
The room was quite spacious and had all the necessary amenities (Glasses, plates, microwave, fridge etc.)
Lee, the owner continuously kept in touch at the start and end of the stay to make sure everything was good. Much appreciated
The only downside was that the towels are only washed every 3rd day! I understand the need to conserve water but towels need to be washed daily for hygienic purposes.
I would definitely stay here again.
