This is one of our favourite places on earth. My partner and I love it and each time we stay, we wish it could be for longer. It is an experience for anyone wanting to get away from it all and reconnect with their roots. We’re already thinking when we’ll go back.

We first stayed in April 2008 and again in April of this year. When we found this place initially, we thought it was an undiscovered gem. Since our first visit new owners, Nick an Colleen, have taken over and have invested in the place considerably, time wise and financially which makes it more alluring and comfortable than before.

The gorgeous rustic cottages are individually designed with warmth and comfort, affording incredible ocean views. We spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony chilling out with a drink looking at the ocean. What more could you want?

It says a lot for a place if you return to it from 10,000 kilometres away and it says even more if the whole experience is enhanced by the obvious love, time and effort put into the place by the new owners. Nick is a warm and helpful guy and we wish him and Colleen all the best.

This is our 4th return visit to Vulamanzi and we were were very happy to return as we love it there.

It retains a simple and relaxed charm. We have stayed in two cabins during our stays and both of these have been comfortable, clean, with their own private facilities and stunning views. Sitting on the balcony, looking at, and hearing, the ocean is wonderful as is walking to the beach, just a few minutes away.

Guest facilities are good and there are plenty of nice braai spots and benches, as well as play equipment for little ones. The outdoor area is attractive and well maintained.

Nick and Coleen are helpful and friendly, as are their staff team. If there is anything required, they are always happy to assist.

I wish we lived closer so we could stay more often.

Loved Vulamanzi!!
Stunning, rugged looking cabins, nestled in amazing vegetation. Loved watching all the beautiful birds in the camp. The monkeys are very sweet, and it was a real treat to see them in the camp!! The service we received from Nick & Colleen was superb, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The place is very well kept and clean. Vulamanzi is a few meters away from the beach, which is great!!

This was my first visit to Vulamanzi and Im very disssapointed, the place itself is very beautiful, however the owner of the place couldn't be bothered about his guests. My friends and I stayed there over the weekend and on our last night an incident happened where two of my friends were badly hurt by other people staying there, the owner was nowhere to be found to deal with the situation for a long period of time, and when he did arrive he had no interest in his hurt guests he was more concerned about his money and never once asked us if he can do anything to help, I had to call the cops myself and take my friends to hospital to get stitches. The next day the owner never once asked if the boys were okay, he just reminded us to pay for anything we broke, we hadn't broken anything!

The owners lack of concern was very shameful and I will not be returning.

I haven't stayed in a while, but it is an incredibly amazing and relaxing place. Being able to interact with those who visit is wonderful, and just the peace and quiet and serenity are amazing. The monkeys crawling on my roof in the morning were adorable but a little alarming until you get used to them!

This place is a piece of heaven on earth. I’ve been going here for about 4 years and Colleen and Nick are so hospitable and there staff are very helpful. We love the rugged layout and the “In the bush” feeling you get when you there. I would recommend this piece of heaven to anyone who just wants to get away from it all. Make no mistake they have air-conditioning and TV’s so you have all the luxuries of home. Do yourself a favour and give this place a try it really worth it. Thanks Guys Love it!!

I have been to Vulamanzi twice now, and am going for a 3rd time this weeknd. Each of the times we have gone as a group of about 30 people and booked the entire place out. The accomodation is brilliant for this type of thing, birthdays etc. Because making noise is not an issue. (in moderation) Ocean views with a cold beer in hand, bonfires on the beach and a fully equiped bar area makes for one banging weeknd away. The accomodation is so well priced I would suggest this place to anyone who is tired of doing the same thing week in and week out in their hometowns. Take along some music and plenty of bacon to cure that hangover.

This was a nice experience, Nick and Colleen are very friendly and really helpfull. The cabin we stayed in was comfortable and had all the necessities to make your stay relaxed. The view was really amazing. Only thing that bothered us was the train passing by early in the mornings.... not nice to wake up to that.... Otherwise it was amazing!

It was the second time we visited Vulamanzi , we found this on the internet and the first time we arrived in dec 2008 we just were in the process of loosing everything we owned in life.
Vulamanzi then was smaller then in dec 2010.It has got still the same "no nonsense ' owners Colleen and Nick. You can see they are the owners and work virtually non stop to keep the place in good condition.
If you want to stay the same as the cabanas in Sun city you are at the wrong spot. The cabin we stayed in overlookes ( past the railwayline)the sea and beach. The stay has got everything you need , even an airconditioner which works.Do not expect 5 star accomodation, this is a sort of a logcabin with the (private) ablusion block at ground floor( this gets challenging after a few beers)but is spotclean.
We weren't aware of it but Vulamanzi forces you to do soulsearching and gave us hope again for life.We now own our own guesthouse in Nelspruit, and we have to thank Nick and Colleen for their contribution.
Away from evrything, safe,a train that passes at your front door and a clean beach ,what do you want more.
Tip, you can stay and do not go off the property if you stock up on food, drinks etc otherwise the shops are about 7k's away, difficult without transport.Or visit the hotel next door for lunch and dinner

Well what more can be said than this is truly as must visit.

We spent a weekend at Vulamanzi and had the most amazing time, Nick and Coleen met us on arrival and showed us to our Cabin the friendly faces and positive attitude really made us feel happy to be there.
They place itself has everything you need such as full serviced kitchens, Air conditioners which work well especially in summer, great Braai facilities and even a jungle gym for the kids, the Bar is comfortable and full stocked so if you feel like having a party you can really have fun.
We will for sure be back and will invite our friends with us next time so they too can experience this Gem hidden away down the south coast.
