Arrival was met with a smiling, great attitude, accommodating front desk experience, which can essentially, be the difference between a fair stay and a great stay! The rooms have recently been renovated, and it was quite refreshing to step into a laminate-flooring room, where your suitcase wheels don't have to battle carpet hairs...they also made the room appear "lighter". With the basic amenities provided (thank goodness, because I forgot my soap at the previous place), a crisis was averted. The bed was firm, yet comfortable, and there was no shortage of pillows on the bed, which was nice to see. Besides the air conditioning requiring an upgrade, and the corner shower being designed for skinnier people, the room cannot be faulted. Breakfast appeared to be only "buffet", and although freshly prepared and fairly tasty, it would be nice to have other menu options, such as an omelette or eggs benedict, or even French toast with syrup/honey. All in all though, a good, value-for-money stay, with friendly and accommodating staff. …

The stay was good. Friendly reception staff, the rooms clean and tidy. Breakfast not so great needs some review of what is served daily. Not many options for a person who does not eat pork. The restaurant staff wow, never seen such unfriendly angry staff.

However, we are truly sorry that our restaurant staff and meal offering fell short of expectations. We will follow up with what went wrong during your stay so that we may correct our shortcomings. Just a note, all of the City Lodge Hotel Group properties are able to offer non-pork, Halaal-friendly dishes for breakfast upon request. We need a little warning – the night before is sufficient – so that we may prepare the dishes accordingly. The Road Lodge is best located and closure to amenities. We had a pleasant stay. However, the noise from adjacent student accommodation places if left unchecked have a potential to spoil a pleasant stay

The stay was pleasant. The rooms are very clean and tidy as well the pool. The vending and coffee machine are my favourite. Staff are also friendly and quite helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone for a few nights

Spent a night at this hotel for a quick business trip/meet. The rooms are very neat and clean, the towels were very clean with a nice smell, I had a good night stay at this hotel, continental breakfast was very nice, service was good and prices are not so bad.

we stayed there for a week, the room was serviced daily i.e bedding and towel but was not cleaned for 2 days, and had a challenge with the toilet report it and the person who was supported to fixed never come.

Not the greatest place but was sufficient for a one night stay as we visited a family member at the Bay hospital. Instead of driving 2 hours back to Durban, staying over at the Road lodge was convenient. Check-in and check out was really easy. Also located close to a mall.

We stayed here for the weekend. On night 1 the guests where making so much noise at 02:30 that I had to phone reception to ask them to quite down. The next morning I spoke to the one lady and asked which company the guests works for. She replied that it was a private group. When I spoke to her about the noise she said that she can't do anything about it. Very rude. We waited to have breakfast. Finally when we got to the front there was no food left and we had to wait 10 - 20 min for food. We asked for a refund and went somewhere else. The next morning the breakfast was horrible. Boerewors cooked in chakalaka water. It tasted awe-full. I then ate muesli and yogurt. The most expensive muesli and yogurt I've ever had. We were so disappointed, because the receptionist told us it is a continental breakfast. The other Road Lodges is very nice place to stay.…
