We had booked another establishment but for some unknown reason were moved to Fish Eagle.
Conveniently located but very close to the airport so quite noisy.
Rooms small but clean and comfortable and shower/toilet a bit too small.
Very limited Television channels but suppose not there for the movies.
There are lots of facilities like swimming pool (very clean) and lovely garden. There is a bar but I could not find a barman maybe he was eating supper🤔
Like the rest of the city it could do with a injection of interest.
A completely changed city😢

I have noticed that some establishments attempt to dress up cheap and nasty as rustic...

The sofa in the room left me traumatised... It's probably the ugliest sofa I have ever laid eyes on...

The fridge in the room is charming. It has a glass door and the light stays on permanently which is great to keep an eye on your food in case it decides to misbehave during the night. It also sounds like a tractor so I decided to rather not make use of this fine piece of previously owned retail equipment...

The breakfast wasn't too bad. It also wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination...

If you have other options to stay at, perhaps consider those...

My husband and I spend a long weekend at Fish Eagle Inn. The room was small, but had everything we needed. This family run B+B was a lovely place stay. The owners and staff were so helpful and friendly. The location is very handy to Richards Bay CBD, but is in a quiet, peaceful suburb. It is very child friendly, with a sandpit and nice swimming pool.
Breakfast was good and well presented. It was good value as it is reasonable and comfortable. We will definately go back when we are in the area.

Firstly, Fish Eagle inn is NO LONGER registered as a guest house or accommodation. The owner informs me they de-registered. SO TRIPADVISOR.. remove them from you website. They only accept private guests, they will take your money but do not offer what is promised. Rooms where NOT serviced for 5 days at all, NOT my problem, Im a paying guest, Don't ask for ice or coffee sachets, Its like u asking for gold. Overall the owners keeps referring to u as a guest invading their privacy.. The place is beautiful and has lots of potential, but the management needs to re-think their attitude towards guests. Personally it was not a pleasant experience and we felt completely uncomfortable.

Firstly, the room is quite spacious and the staff who serve the food are very friendly. That's all the positive that I can offer. The food itself is mediocre at best. They claim to offer free WiFi, and technically they do, but the internet is so slow that it's not workable. The mismatched crockery and cutlery leads me to think that they are all the leftovers from a lifetime of camping and losing things along the way. Everything is obviously the cheapest they could find, from the supermarket brand condiments to the shopping bags lining the toilet, to the cheap chicory blend in the room. Proximity to the airport makes for a disturbed time. For the same amount of money you can find something significantly better.
