The guesthouse is located in the suburbs but close enough to the CBD and to the main roads. We were a group of 20 cyclist that stayed here for 1 night. From the start of the booking process, Dominique was super efficient and made the whole booking a seamless process. We were all impressed with the place. It is spacious, clean and has a beautiful deck area just outside the restaurant that overlooks the golf course. The rooms are nice and spacious and beds are super comfy and some of the rooms have little fridges. The food was superb - Dominique catered to our every request, which just made the stay for all of us amazing. It would be nice for the place to have a bar though and staff to serve drinks, although it was not a problem for us as we were more then happy to bring in our own drinks.…

We stayed at the lodge for one night over the weekend. We called a few hours ahead of time and booked. The booking was painless and accommodating as we wanted to drop our stuff off before check-in and continue our shopping. Our room was spacious and clean and overlooked the golf course, with secure and safe parking. We told there was a night porter which was super so there was no problem in coming home late at night. The next morning we had a lovely breakfast which was a combination of a continental and english breakfast. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. The Lodge is based very conveniently in Hayfields, you are close to Liberty Mall and all attractions in town but have the feel of the country. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We were visiting family friends in Maritzburg and they suggested we base ourselves at Thorn Tree. Situated in a quiet are and yet close to the main roads and services we needed it was ideal. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, our welcome genuine and helpful and breakfast very good. We would happily stay there again.

We stayed at this Lodge while my son was participating in a swimming championship and had the most wonderful experience. Large, beautiful, comfortable rooms, a beautiful setting overlooking the golf course and friendly, helpful staff. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning. A true oasis in Pietermaritzburg.
