Spent a week staying here. Friendly reception.
Large rooms, comfortable, clean and neat, and serviced daily.
Fully equipped for self catering.
Large grounds with lovely trees to stroll around in.
Will definitely stay there again.

Sakabula country lodge was a beautiful setting for my sisters wedding. Nice and rustic out in the country. Rooms were ok and service could have been better - Food was excellent and good value for money.

I was residing at sakabula country lodge during my business trip in may for the first time. I was deeply disappointed when i realised that their is no cell phone signal and they dont even have wifi so i was cut off from the world every time i was at sakabula. There is not even a swimming pool. My personal opinion is that the place is a little over priced at R300 pppn. They at least cleaned the room and washed the dishes. It is only a place to stay over and there is no activities to do on the premises.

A warm welcome from the owners, beautiful venue, clean rooms & crispy fresh linen, comfortable beds and a seriously yummy breakfast including freshly picked fruit by the owners adding a very special touch to our stay.
Fast WiFi, clean pool, jungle gym for the kids & plenty space for them to explore.
Thank you for having us & we hope to join you again soon xxx

We spent 2 nights in Sakabula over the December and can truly say it was beyond amazing. The rooms are incredible - so spacious and clean and the hosts went out of their way for our family. We will definitely go back. We were treated like royalty. Riaan, Kotie & Percy - WOW - incredible hosts and great food.
This was a wonderful memorable experience to our entire family.

Wow I must say the reviews from years ago don't reflect the amazing place, hospitality and venue. The new management has definitely made a difference. My entire family loved our stay. Friendlier staff you will not find anywhere else. Always ready to assist. Lovely clean facilities. Also good location as it is close to pmb and durban. Will definitely be back as often as possible. Thanks Sakabula!!

What an Amazing experience. Came her for a business trip and after a hard day's work Sakabula is the place to be. So peaceful. Really enjoyed my stay. Everyone went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Will definitely return in the not to distant future.
All the best for your future endeavors.

Sakabula is misleading from their website!

According to their website “all rooms are comfortably furnished and include air conditioning, a hospitality tray & a hair dryer”.

This most certainly wasn’t the case and when we checked in and were shown to our room we found that there were 5 additional beds in our unit (there was only two of us), there were no bed side tables, the air conditioning was broken, the place was covered in Gecko faeces, there was only 1 mirror in the entire unit which was the size of my hand hanging in the bathroom, there was no plug in the shower just a hole, the curtains weren’t hanging on the rods properly and the bedding looked dirty and not clean.

And to top this all off, when we came back after attending a wedding in the area, we pulled back the bed cover and found a frog under the covers!!

As you can imagine we were disgusted, and promptly packed our car and left the same night!

I booked a stay at Sakabula country lodge as on its website the address indicated it was a few minutes away from Eden Lassie wedding venue where myself and my boyfriend were attending a wedding. Much to our dismay the GPS coordinates/ address we searched led us to a school. After many calls to the lodge itself asking for directions, the staff could not direct me successfully to the actual address - she could not give me the proper address, only a street name which is kilometers long and not even a landmark to assist us to the actual lodge. She said the address on the website was wrong and she was new to the area so couldnt help. It took us over an hour driving back and forth looking for the venue before we abandoned the mission and drove directly to the wedding for which we were now late. After the wedding at midnight it took another hour of driving around and calls back and forth to the lodge to attempt to get directions!! what a nightmare. Eventually I suggested they come and fetch us so we wouldnt be stranded in the middle of the countryside at 1am! The location which we eventually reached after being fetched at a petrol station was miles away with no road signs at all - we would never have located it from their useless "advice". The lodge didn't even apologise or offer anything to make up for this terrible experience.
