I have recently had the opportunity to stay at Umhambi Lodge. The setting was superb, with all one could ask for.

Prior to making the booking we googled for accommodation in Richardsbay and Umhambi was the place to stay. Being involved in International Tourism with inbound tourist going on Safari with Shingelani Safaris (www.shingelani-safaris.com) we always are looking for those hidden treasures around South Africa for our clients to stay.

I stayed for two nights in the Presedential Suite, which overlooks the pool when lying on the bed and makes a very beautiful setting at night with the reflection of the flaming torches around the pool area on the water. The dining area is also just a few steps from this room.

Without giving everything away I must say that the room interior appealed to me with being a lover of nature and outdoors, wildlife and good accommodation. The bed was good with high quality mattress, spacious and everything you might need. This room is a must if you intend to go and kick back and take a well deserved break from your work.

The food was excellent each evening I had supper with an equal friendly service at the bar. Lovely flow between the units with wooden passage ways.

I will without thinking twice book at Umhambi's Presedential Suite whenever I am in Richardsbay

Great service, food, stay and pricing. Well done keep it up.

We went to Umhambi for a team building event and we loved every bit of our stay. We always felt welcome at the lodge and the ambience was beautiful. We got what we bargained for - a great stay amidst nature and a peaceful setting.

Lovely African themed decorations with rustic feel and wooden sculptures set the mood. Cosy and comfortable rooms with guarded parking. The breakfast was delicious too! All the staff are friendly and welcoming... it's the sort of place you feel happy to visit!

A wonderful place with super friendly staff I'm definitely coming back in December with my whole family this time around, if I were to rate the place out of 10 with 10 being the highest I would definitely give it a 9.

It feels like you're in an enchanted African forest, so lush & woody. Everyone has been friendly and accommodating. The room has a natural...organic feel to it and is comfortable and well-provisioned. It's conveniently close to the main road but feels unrushed and secluded. Definitely a lovely place to stay!

A friend of mine recommended this place and we made reservations with Vanessa who was absolutely amazing throughout. I would recommend it to anyone visiting, who wants peace and quiet, a getaway with friends, we stayed in the self catering unit and it was absolutely clean. I always prefer guesthouses or lodges over fancy hotels because they give you that home feel and I experienced exactly that here, I also love nature, the place is surrounded by beautiful trees and the units are wooden made which makes it even more cool. If you are looking for a home away from home, and happen to want it in NRB, this is the place, will certainly come back when in KZN again. Thank you Vanessa and staff.

I stayed in room 12. It was grimy and linen needs replacing. The bedside light was broken. The food was very average. I was disappointed. Ive stayed here a year ago but it has since deteriorated. The pool area is pretty but vrry kitch and cluttered. I wont stay here again. This entire lodge could do with a revamp. BEV MOORE

Good location, lovely pool area and if you get the right room you will have a great stay.
Service is good, but if you don't ask you don't get. I was assigned the room next to the reception which was somewhat noisy with no view at all. Room was cluttered and smallish and somewhat conjested,
The reception could do with a dusting down - may help it it was not overcrowded with all the skins and clutter.
