I really think that Margate Sands Resort has a false star rating by the tourism industry. We waited at the gate for a long period to enter the parking which is understandable due to the Covid regulations being followed..... That was a total front and pretence if I may put it lightly... When we got into the reception it looked like a flee market total disarray (No Covid standards in place) .... Apartments were not ready for a number of guests in front of me. It's was after 15h30. I received my keys after awhile and went upto the room where the floor was wet from a leaking fridge. The toilet did not work properly. The apartment had a strange odour.The Air-conditioning did not work. I called reception and brought it to there attention. The duty manager came up and tried to assist. There was no maintenance guys available. The aircon company refused to come out. They moved me to another room after 21H00 cause I requested to get a refund and leave. I spoke to Mr Gomo over the phone cause he is away on a family matter. This establishment requires training and staff. I await meeting Mr Gomo on Monday if he decides to speak to me face to face.…

That is not our norm, we want all our guests to feel at home, enjoy their holidays, and to be part of our Margate Sands family. we booked 6 nights at margate sands. Terrible experience on the first day. We arrived from jhb and it was raining. Eager to get to our room we noticed that the bedroom light was not working, the WiFi codes they gave us didn't work, the TV was not working at all. The glasses on display were mismatched and there was a missing cushion on one of the chairs.we were told nothing could be done that we should wait for Monday. We assumed there would be tea and coffee sachets with the room, we didn't find any and went out to buy some. On Monday they came to sort everything out, however I've never experienced so many things wrong with a place. On Wed we got a call saying that there was no cleaning service on Thursdays and Fridays. We were not aware of that at all. We expected a fully serviced apartment,had we known it was partially serviced we wouldn't book there. All in all not a pleasant experience hotel wise. The beach and location is great. However even with that I won't choose this hotel again. During my stay they even tried to sell me timeshare or membership and when I refused to give my personal details the lady seemed upset. I heard good things about this place hence I booked it, this was probably in days gone by since I didn't experience any of it.…

Well equipped unit with clean linen and prompt housekeeping service. Stunning panoramic views from the balcony and good braai and swimming facilities. My positive contribution stops there as our experience has shown us that rules are not reinforced at this establishment. Firstly, many fellow holiday makers were having a merry time around the pool area with glass tumblers and alcoholic beverages, despite signs prohibiting them from doing so was visible. The unit below us had rowdy patrons whom did not bother turning down their music, the whole night despite us advising the establishment of the problem at hand. Beautiful family holiday tainted by disrespectful residents whom management had no control of. Sadly, won’t visit again

It has been 11 mths since i posted a review of my travels. Arranged a beautiful get together at Margate Sands. We booked 4 x3 bedroom apartments. I was taken aback by the many changes and revamp done to this resort. The apartments newly fitted with beautiful digital ovens and new bathroom fittings and fixtures. Beautiful summer feel colours in decor. It has a lovely feel homely yet stylish appeal. Amenities nearby and on site very commendable. Plus plus point are beaches proximity and tidal pools. Amazing place and right on beach. We had load shedding but they had back up generation Thank you margate sands awesome weekend away.

We stayed at this resort last week, our booking was with trail membership with CLC World The apartments are spacious clean and to a high standard of equipment and maintenance. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this resort to everyone. There are a lot of excellent restaurants a short drive away or Larry's on the next corner. Thank you Margate Sands for making our stay so enjoyable
