We recently enjoyed a weekend away at this guesthouse. We had noted all the great reviews it had received and decided to see for ourselves.

We were warmly welcomed by host and owner Bessie, who quickly processed our arrival and undertook all the necessary Covid protocols. Thereafter we were shown how to get to our room, which was situated on the top (second) floor of the building.

Whilst there are a number of stairs to contend with if parked on the lower parking level, it is more than made up for by the great views experienced from any of the rooms on any level. The room itself was clean, comfortable and of a decent size. We had all the necessary items such as DSTV, a wall safe, coffee station and a good sized bar fridge (for your own items you may want to keep cold). It should be noted that whilst there used to be a pub facility on the property, the license has been removed due to a creche opening on the next door property. However, you are permitted to bring your own drinks to the room, which from a cost perspective, in a plus.

The swimming pool situated directly in front of the property was crystal clear and provided a stunning outlook both day and at night. What is quite unique, is that there is an undercover braai area, which can be booked for exclusive use by any guests to enjoy. This is an extremely well catered for facility, with a coal braai, gas braai, full sized fridge and a number of iron pots that can all be utilised to make for a great braai occasion and being all undercover, no issues should it rain. We also noted a sauna, pool table and board games to help keep entertained in need.

The breakfasts are also excellent, with a good variety of self service items to select from and a full hot breakfast of your choice chosen off a menu, which is served directly to the table.

All in all, this is an establishment that is definitely worth a visit. Great hosts too that stay on the premises.

My husband and I stayed at the Guesthouse in December 2019. The owner (Bessie) and the staff welcomed us warmly and our two night stay was amazing. The breakfast is amazing, the rooms are clean and the staff is always willing go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. Thanks for the chats Bessie, some of your stories are hilarious 😂, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves 💐

It's a beautiful Guest House in a decent location, with a quick drive to get to the beach. The balcony's have beautiful views of the ocean and sunrise/sunsets. The problem was that the owners reside at the guest house, in fact the whole family lives there which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't make you feel as though you intruding into their home.

The jacuzzi was empty and when we asked about using it, the owner said it takes a day to refill and as we were only there for a day it wasn't gonna happen. The air conditioning for the rooms was a problem too, they kept going off and some didn't work at all. The power kept tripping too and when we told the owners they said not to use the AC as it draws too much power, in March its not pleasant to sleep in a hot room with no AC.

We decided to have a BBQ in the evening as we had a early flight to catch the next morning and wanted to chill by the pool but we were told a couple of times to keep the noise levels down, we were a small group of friends and definitely not a noisy bunch so we were not impressed when we had to whisper to each other over dinner.

Over all we did not enjoy our stay there, we kind of felt like school kids being told what to do all the time and whispering to each other.

Besides all the rules the place is lovely and relatively priced.

Indefinitely the worst guesthouse experience ever. Too many rules and unpleasant hospitality. Was confronted by owner at gun point for setting the alarm off by mistake.

Not a good choice or a choice at all!

We arrived in the evening as part of a wedding group on a tour of SA, ages ranged from mid 20s to mid 30s. The rooms were lovely but the A/C in ours cut out if too many people were using lights A/C etc which made for an uncomfortable and hot night's sleep.

As it advertised "BBQ and hot tub for use at guests' leisure" so we bought some meat for the BBQ only to be told we would be charged 20 rand per person, so 200 rand in total!! We then felt quite unwelcome as a couple of us tip-toed around the guest house and kitchen (trying not to disturb the owners who were watching TV) to prepare for our BBQ.
Once outside, the BBQ and facilities were fantastic, however we were told at about 8pm "not to make any noise" despite the fact we were just having a few drinks and civilised conversation. At 9.30pm we were told by the owner that a guest had complained about the noise, even though we were just talking quietly, trying to enjoy the BBQ. We had an early start so went to bed soon after.
Not suitable for groups or people who would like to stay up after 9.30pm. Oh and as for the hot tub, we were told "it takes a day to fill up" so wasn't available.

Stayed at the guest house in June with my husband and son. Bought a Daddysdeal coupon - so good value for money. My son had his own room with a wonderful view of the sea. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Braai facilities are available, at a small fee for use. Experienced load shedding during our stay - but small torches were provided.A good English breakfast is provided. Although the Andre and Bessie were not available during the weekend we were there - the lady who was in charge was efficient enough. Wifi is not available in the room - but can be accessed from the dining room only. Short drive to shops, restaurants and the beach.

What a fantastic Guest House. Bessie and Andre and the most hospitable people who really have their guests comfort and peace at heart. The welcome when we arrived was amazing, as were the welcome treats. The Guest House is so beautifully clean and well decorated. Our room, the honeymoon suite, was to die for with a stunning view (which all the rooms have I might add). There are family units there too.

The breakfasts are out of this world, and it's so nice to sit by the pool looking out over the sea whilst having a leisurely meal. We enjoyed playing pool when it was too windy outside and made use of the honesty bar for cocktails. The beach is about a 4 minute drive away but you can also walk there if you want to.

I can't recommend it highly enough to anyone and will definitely be going back there. I will be sending family and friends down there for sure to sample probably the best guest house I have ever stayed in.

I have passed by accidently. I´m a flight student from Europe and I went to South Africa to build up my hours for the commercial licence. I nearly finished my stay but I decided to go to the east coast of South Africa to see J-Bay, Paradise beach, etc..
Initially I have planned to stop there for one night only, but I got stopped due to weather 3 days. Thanks for extending my stay so easily.
I can´t say any negative, the rooms are very big including all luxury you are looking for, air-condition, Flat screen TV, fridge, water heater including tea, coffee tray etc. Everything is very clean a well maintained.
Next to the pool table you will find a self-help bar, which is stocked up with different brands of beers, alcohol, water, etc…
The breakfast is very good and can be enjoyed on the “main deck” next to the pool, which offers a beautiful view over the ocean.
Special thanks to the hosts Bessie and Andre for the time provided, good restaurant tips recommended and providing your private car to make small trips the city centre and neighbour villages!!
I´ll definitely come back
I wish you all the best in the future.
