I was here for 3 nights. This place was absolutely amazing, from the camp staff to the Guide and tracker they were there to make your stay as close to perfection as possible. My tent was simply perfect and the short walk from the tent to the main area a delight with Impala resting in the under growth a few metres away as you passed by. The food dishes during my stay were varied and top quality and always served by someone with a smiling face and there was always a cold beer or wine on hand should you want it, included in the package. And sundowners on the afternoon Game Drive were absolutely sublime making the end of a day perfect. My guide and tracker were very at the top of their game. And we did have some wonderful sightings.
However Thanda seemed to me to have a very Limited amount of Wildlife. And whilst I totally understand one cannot be guaranteed sightings this park definitely does not have an abundance of Wildlife it advertises. No leopards, Hyenas,Cheetah were found this I found very disappointing. If this is your 1st Safari you will enjoy this place if your main priority is Wildlife other than Impala and the softer animals you will not. So in conclusion the camp itself and the staff was perfect. But the wildlife was not.

This was my first time at the tented campus. I stayed at the lodge 2 years ago. The tents over exceeded my expectations. The beds are heavenly. You sleep in peace as the iNyala and other game walk by happily.

The privacy is well respected by staff who warn by whistling as they approach your tent in case you're not aware. The views are magical, sunrise to sunsets. My room was so spacious and fully equipped for my stay including an outdoor shower which I liked to jump into in the mornings.

They take great care with food. You are well fed throughout the day, snacks and a coffee stop when you go for the game drives in the mornings and evenings. The guides are knowledgeable and spot the game from a mile. Majority of the staff are locals so it feels good to know that the lodge is empowering the community it is located in.

So, save up and treat your self to this amazing majestic experience!

Welcomed by a massiv rain, totally wet within 30 secs.... nice and friendly staff with covered cars which picked us up at the entrance of the park, great done. 2 nights with great service, good breakfast and 3 course dinners with selected wines.
The tent was extremely comfortable with in- and outside shower, wc, king size double bed with mosquito net. Big terrace.
Extremely skilled trackers and guides, which really learned us about sense of wildlife. We also had a great lecture around Rhinos. This place is situated right in the Reserve, we where not allowed to go out alone in the dark, need to call the reception to have escort :-)
Small pool and a great bar. We could see all the Big Five, thanks for that.
This place need to be visited and seen, description in full is almost impossible, great thanks to all service minded personell that made our visit so great.

Let me start by saying that this trip has far exceeded my expectations. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I could sleep in a tent for over a week and not once miss my own bed which I am quite fond of. The accommodations were superb: pillow just the right amount of fluff, mattress super comfortable, and the refrigerator was always stocked with cold beverages. The staff is absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived and every day following we were greeted with not only a warm smile, but a warm lavender face cloth as well. The hospitality is top notch and everyone is so responsive to your needs. The food was fantastic, shout out to the chefs who prepared such a wonderful spread throughout the entire stay.
As I mentioned, the "entire" staff is great but the best trackers EVER are Mr. Winneth and Mr. Buselaphi. They have been dubbed the A-Team and now I see why. Do yourself a favor and request them early, you can thank me later. When you come back from your game drive see if you can get a massage from Angel.......... Need I say more? I had more massages there (with Angel) than I have all year long back at home. She's the absolute sweetest and a master massage therapist. I will forever be on the hunt for someone as good as her.
I have nothing bad to say about Thanda. This was an experience that I will cherish forever. I hope you love it just as much as I did.

We are absolutely thrilled with our two night stay in Thanda Tented Camp as it offers luxurious accommodation with a bush themed feel and great experiences on game drives and during free time exploring the main restaurant and reception area. The staff are so welcoming and friendly especially guide Peace, tracker Zeblon and restaurant manager Lucas. We had fabulous game drives and spotted 4/5 of the big 5. Our meals were well accommodated for especially as I am a vegetarian and the chefs were consistently aiming to please with varied meal options that were delicious and nutritious. I highly recommend this reserve as they make it your home away from home. Well done, Thanda 👏

We have stayed at the tented camp twice. We unfortunately had a couple water issues during both our stays, however the sightings and overall weekend was such a treat, we quickly forgot about the chilly shower. Bronwyn and the reservations team are an absolute dream to deal with, and on every visit we have celebrated something special (anniversary, birthday and the next trip is also a birthday) and the staff go out of their way to make it that much more special! The Chef always accommodates my dietary requirement of no red meat with a smile on his face, and goes out of his way for me (unexpectedly). Each and every meal is an absolute taste sensation. Sabelo our Ranger, we have had twice, and his tracker Madid are the kindest most hospitable men with an incredible knowledge for the bush and the reserve (Sabelo has been there 17yrs if I am not mistaken). We are looking forward to our third visit to this camp, since May 2021.

Thanda Tented Camp is highly recommended. Luxury tents, and excellent food and service.
The camp offers safari drives with very experienced and skilled ranger/tracker. Good chance to spot all big 5.
Recommended also for families with older children.

Linda and his team are excellent, friendly very service orientated and excellent hosts. The game reserve is absolutely brilliant, wonderful bush and the density of game drive vehicles lower than other reserves in the area. The tented camp provides an authentic bush experience, and the food is truly delicious. Three visits now to Thanda and a firm favourite, easy drive from Durban or King Shaka airport. The reserve itself has the big 5 which you see, with the exception of leopard who remain elusive despite three trips. Birding is very good, perhaps my only criticism, the rangers are perhaps not at the same level as the Phinda rangers when it comes to birding. Good specials in the winter season

The team at Thanda made this "Covid" delayed trip memorable. We celebrated a 50, 60 and 70th birthday. The team laid on Zulu dancing, birthday cakes and the "Best Braai/Barbecue ever'' The Brits on the trip loved it, the tents are really great and they got to experience under canvas in Africa. We were a party of 8 and each couple made to feel special. Peace made our game viewing memorable with 4 of the Big 5 delivered. Thank you all at Thanda for a great stay.

We were promised an afternoon safari which didn't happen. The food on the first evening made my wife ill. No variety in wine only one very poor quality red and white. Not the experience we expected or were led to believe we would get. I would recommend that if you are looking at safaris, chose a bigger reserve with more animals and better accommodation.
