I can honestly say the Bushbaby Lodge is an awesome place to stay, it is close to the game reserve and affordable. Although this is a budget lodge and there are no frills, the accommodation is comfortable and clean and the staff were awesome and friendly. We will definately be back here soon.

Lovely setting - road there needs a bit of grading - friendly staff, swimming pool, basic rooms with shared bathroom but it was clean and we had a pleasant stay. There is a short hike you can do but it needs better signposting. Overall a lovely place and good value for money.

We intended to only stay a few days but ended up staying much longer at this quaint lodge and campsite. The main lodge and dining area is tastefully welcoming and the pool area is really lovely. Kitchen area is sufficient for a few campers, not sure whether it will be enough if the place is full. The bathrooms older but spotless. However, when camping a person comes for the bush feel and this lodge definitely has that. One morning we counted 30 Nyala plus a few zebras at the waterhole. Of course highlight of our trip was the feeding of the bushbabies at 19:00 every evening. Value for money, excellent! Strangely enough the only negative for my husband was trains passing very near. For me this was wonderful.

The staff welcomed us in true Zululand hospitality. It's a birdlover's paradise and feeding of the bushbabies was a definite highlight. Our one-bedroom lodge was comfortable with communal bathroom and kitchen close by. I love the little town of Hluhluwe! Will visit again and again.

The lodge has a nice Tropical feel and interaction with Bush Babies was super. Thembi and staff is super friendly and they clean the chalet on a daily basis. The chalets is better the Kruger park. .The pool is lovely and my grandchild enjoyed it so much. Downfalls is that the camping sites ablution block needs a serious update there s 2 ablutions blocks and the other one is super nice and clean. I also feel the owner can maybe mingle a bid more with South African guests. You can go walk on trails but they did not offer us a map so we turned around in the middle of the trail as we were scared to get lost. I will definitely go again as it was super nice place to stay.

The bungalows are simple but comparable as to what you will get in the Kruger park. The bungalows at the fence by the waterhole are guaranteed of an amazing Wild park feeling. The owners are super helpful! Great brake away or stop over.

Staying over night we enjoyed sitting on the little patio taking in the stillness. Loved the sound of the bush babies playing around during the night. Unfortunately that is where it stopped. The toilet had to be turned off as it kept running. The next morning in day light we could see dirty shower and toilet mats. The shower tiles needed a good scrub as they were black with grime. The one bath towel should have been cut up for rags. Swimming pool was green. Reported this to management who said he would tell the staff. Surely you should go and check yourself? We weren't even offered a reduced rate for our stay as an applology! It would be better to camp!

At last we found a camping experience where you don’t have demarcated sites and you camp on grass under trees. No sand! Campers have full access to all facilities and the hiss are warm and friendly. Well situated near Hluluwe. Many game options around and some game on the site.

Easy to find and get to and very well positioned for all North KZN attractions. Stayed 1 night in a budget chalet which was spacious with a fridge and patio as benefits. Mattress was very soft and could do with attention. The garden security lights which are on all night shone through the glazed upper panel to the door to Unit 7 (and probably several other units) and would definitely not permit a light sleeper any rest. Bedside lamps equipped with 2-pin plugs whilst all socket outlets were 3-pin only! The ablutions are 'tired' and do not compare well with competitors although marginally adequate. Caravan sites are fine (would accommodate my large motorhome easily) although lacking water points generally
