Love this place! The facilities are warm and tastefully put together to help one unwind at an amazing price. In addition to the lovely accommodation, the food, staff and game drives are great. Not only does the game farm house a wide range of unique wildlife, but it is perfectly located near the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park! We will be back (again) soon

The camp and staff were exceptional. I took my 17 year old grandson on his first holiday to South Africa. We started at Duiker because I knew they only take 12 guests and I wanted somewhere relaxed and cosy. Megan and Gemma were wonderful hosts making us feel at home. The game driver Mr J. was very informative and knowledgeable. He made a point of passing his knowledge on to Luca and made the trips out to see the wildlife very special. The chef/barman (I apologise for not remembering your name) was great. We felt at home there sharing the meal table with the staff and exchanging conversation. The rooms were lovely, the swimming pool and bar also. I must also mention “Happiness” a twin who kept our room tidy each day and I believe grilled our fillet steaks on the first night. We really felt at home here and it proved to be the ideal place to start our trip. I would recommend the camp to anyone starting a trip or to use as a base for visiting nearby game reserves.

We stayed at Duiker Lodge for two nights. The villas are stylishly decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean.
The lodge does not appear to have an onsite manager, so small issues are not noted or dealt with. The lodge felt as though it was being run on a shoe string budget, with a small number of staff covering a multitude of roles.
On our first night we wanted to order a bottle of wine. The first three bottles were not available (despite being easily available at nearby supermarkets). In the end the barman simply brought 2 glasses of wine to eliminate any choice! It was not the wine I would have chosen but we were still charged for it. On the second night we wisely avoided the wine list.
Three course dinner was included in the price. Whilst the food was nicely cooked, there was no choice at all. This is not what you expect for the price that is being charged and the image that the lodge portrays. We were the only guests, so it would not have been difficult to ask for food preferences before preparing the food. Having a cold starter available, a bread roll or even a tub of ice cream would have been a big improvement. Of our family of 4, only one person ate the dessert on each night. The same was true for the starter on the second night. There seemed to be no awareness of what type of food may be popular for a mixed age range group. The nearest shop was a 20 minute drive away so there were hungry children after dinner!
As there was no manager at the lodge for our duration (or if there was, they didn't appear once, despite only having one set of guests) there was no one to flag this to.
The staff were mostly exceptionally hard working but in need of guidance and support. The maid tidied the room but forgot to replenish the tea, coffee and water, again lack of management.
Note that the pool is a plunge pool, rather than a swimming pool!
To sum up, a beautiful lodge in a lovely setting, with animals roaming the grounds and friendly, hard working staff. However, let down by a lack of food choice and day to day management; not what you expect for the price being paid.

We spent 5 nights at Duiker Game Lodge, primarily in order to visit Hluhluwe Game reserve. our expectations were more than met. Accommodation spacious, very comfortable and clean, and quiet; maximum 12 guests which we view as a plus. Excellent food, and the kitchen readily adapted to our particular needs. No Big 5, which means its safe to take a run, but we were very glad to have taken the free game drive as we saw white and black Impala, and sable, which we haven't seen in Kruger or elsewhere despite several visits.
its about half an hour's drive to Hluhluwe Memorial Gate, a couple of km on a good dirt road, then the N2 for about 12km, then a potholed tar road to the gate where you have to watch out for cattle, goats etc as well as a couple of serious speed bumps.
We had excellent service at Duiker including a stormy day which wiped out any outdoor activity and when we stayed at the Lodge for the full day (there's a handy library)

We stayed 2 days in Duiker Lodge and we enjoyed every minute. Perfectly situated between Hluhluwe and Manyoni in its own wildpark with kudu, nyala, zebra, girafs, etcetera, and even an own domestic giraf, who loves to interact with the guests. The rooms are little houses with all comfort you can imagine. As well as the breakfast and the dinner are excellent with all local ingredients. We had 4 safaris, hluhluwe and Manyoni and 2 complemantory by their own great guides on their own property. All amazing and great organised. We do not mention any staff member seperately, because they all were fantastic. If some lodge was worth the best value for money, it is Duiker Lodge. Thanks a lot!

We really enjoyed our stay at Duiker Lodge. From the warm welcome on arrival, variety of dining, helpfulness of all staff and particularly the game drive experience by the ranger Sifiso. The property was of an extremely high standard, thank you Ruzaan and your whole team.
