I stayed at Emdoneni Lodge in late October for 2 nights as part of a 4-week tour of southern Africa. The lodge is wonderful! Beautiful, comfortable, spacious air conditioned room with large bathroom and plenty of hot water. Staff very attentive to detail and--for good reason--take pride in their work and the entire lodge. Common spaces are beautifully decorated and the food was excellent. Of course, the highlight of our stay was the hour or so we spent visiting the cats, learning about the Cheetah Project overall as well as each of the species currently housed at Emdoneni (African Wild Cat, Cracal, Serval and Cheetah)...getting our photo taken individually behind one of the cheetahs was an unexpected thrill! I highly recommend a visit to Emdoneni Lodge if you plan to be in the area and a stay overnight if time permits. …

We have been to various game parks and seen the sights, done the tours, all great experiences in their own right. This 2 night stay however was something else. Starting with the fact that it's a sanctuary, with the welfare of wildlife uppermost priority, allowing visitors to have a responsible up close experience while also protecting the space and needs of these beautiful animals. We booked a package, choc a bloc full with adventurous and culinary highlights, as well as highly educative tours. The lodge is a little pearl tucked away in the Bushlands of KZN, my special dietary requirements were well taken care of, the staff and proprietress always looking out for their guests and making sure they are comfortable, the chalet we stayed in absolutely living up to our expectations. Coupled with Bernie the game warden, who is a fount of wildlife knowledge, passionate about her job, very experienced and intuitively knowing where to go in Hluhluwe game park to provide for thrilling wildlife encounters, our only regret is the short duration of our stay. …

We visited this lodge accommodations as part of our Gate 1 tour, we each had our own little unit, the rooms were adequate, the beds were comfortable and so was the pillows. We had an outside buffet dinner which was very good, the atmosphere was welcoming. Breakfast had great variety of food. Service was very helpful. Part of this lodge, it offers opportunity to visit their cheetah reserve and get a picture of you very close to the animal..unforgettable experience!

From arrival to departure I was spoilt to the core. I travelled solo but never felt outcast, there were big international groups at the same time as me but I was never a lesser priority. In fact, the opposite happened. I'll definitely go back. Nothing is too much effort and the team always have smiley faces and warm "hellos"

I was so excited to stay at a cat conservation facility, but what I had not expected was the top-notch holiday accommodation on site. We had a gorgeous lodge set in beautiful gardens. The food was superb (brilliant chefs). All the staff were so welcoming that we felt sad when it came time to leave them. They took us on game drives (yes, we saw white rhino!) And it was an amazing privilege to get so close to their beautiful cheetahs, servals, caracals and African wild cats. And what better than knowing your holiday money is contributing to the hard work that Emdoneni does in preserving these incredible species.

We had an amazing stay! A unique experience getting close to a cheetah, this was definitely a highlight. Our guides were very knowledgable and got us the best footage at the cat sanctuary & on the game drives. The rooms we had were clean and comfy, the perfect place to rest after an eventful day. Fantastic weather allowed us to enjoy the pool area, a very relaxing spot. Amazing food and drinks and attention to detail was given to ensure all guests had a unique dining experience. ‘Dinner under the stars’ was planned for one of our evenings. All staff took amazing care of us throughout our stay.
