Hmmm where do I start, I have stayed at Raptors rest 4 times and this is the 5th, this place is amazing, let's start with the the owner, Eddie, thee most welcoming, caring host, full of life, always enjoy a conversation with him. The rooms are amazing, it's like a home from home... The food is just delicious that i even clean the plate lol that it does not need washing after, if you get what I mean 😋 you know the thing that touched my heart the most was.. I told the owner that I had to leave at 5 the next morning, so I won't make it for breakfast.. He offered to come to where I was working to drop it off.. Now you tell me if that is not excellents in motion... I would vist this place again for surw 😁😁

Fair value. Secure. Host Eddie very helpful and hospitable. Shady garden allowing for coolness in summer particularly. All night security guard was reassuring. Ideal stopover. Not going to look elsewhere.

I stayed at Raptors Rest over the last weekend in March. I was amazed by how clean and lovely it was. The host Eddie is an awesome person. He goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I can wait to go back.

I have been staying with John & Eddie for most of the past 9 weeks - they are very welcoming & make me feel very comfortable.
Eddie cooks all the meals from scratch & the food is great, such a refreshing change from chips!!
The rooms are comfortable & there are always a few little extras.
This place is so far removed from the sterile atmosphere of the chain hotels, it is a very nice place to come back to at the end of the day. I would recommend for both business & recreation.

On first arrival was the small parking area but soon forgot all about it when stepping inside. I was amassed at all the detail and collectibles. a Good portion was from John and Edwards own history! The chats at morning at breakfast was always welcome and eased off the days worries ahead. The room i had was so comfortable it was difficult to choose between in or outside with a lush green garden. All in all i would definitely return on my next business trip. Thank John and Edward for a pleasant stay.

We phoned as we drove into Empangeni, and we were lucky to get a room for the night. A warm welcome, pretty suite with double bed and bathroom overlooking the pool, clean bathroom with clean towels, plenty of supplies for tea and coffee - even little biscuits on the tray and a sweet for each of us at bedtime. Nice touches. And then breakfast was served where we could see it being made - just like being in a friend's home!

Home away from home. What a pleasure to spend time at Raptors Rest. I have tried many hotels and B&B's, but Raptors Rest is simply the best. Eddies' home cooked meals are far superior to restaurant fare. Eddie and John and their staff are always friendly and helpful and the rooms are always sparling clean.

I just came back from Empangeni and I stayed at Raptor's Rest for three nights with my two kids and my sister. Eddie and John are the best hosts in every way possible. Their bnb is very beautiful and homely and I vowed to always stay there whenever I'm in Empangeni. The breakfasts were prepared nicely and our hosts were very accommodative of our needs.

We stayed in raptors rest for one night during our 3 weeks travel through South Africa. It was a wunderful stay, friendly host(John&Eddie) - they gave us helpful advices. Nice room, amazing breakfast, great pool for the hot days;-) we absolutely enjoyed our stay!!
