This is the only place to stay when you are in Empangeni. You always feel welcome when you arrive and relax the moment you walk into this beautiful garden and tranquil space. The meals were absolutely delicious and prepared with care. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and spacious.

You feel at home the moment you walk into Yellowwood guesthouse. Home away from home. The hosts go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast is the best that I have experienced in a SA guesthouse. The rooms are well equipped with nice size TV, Aircon, wi-fi and roof fans. Juice and water is provided daily. The interior decoration is stylish but still homey. The rates are affordable and provide value for money. Highly recommended.

I loved staying at Yellowwoods, and when I need to return to Empangeni, I will certainly stay with them again. The owners and management are so welcoming and make you feel at home. The rooms are very good quality, and the cleanest I have seen. Great job Tannie Amanda and JayJay!

I was lucky enough to have to base myself at Yellow Woods Bed & Breakfast in Empangeni for a week The ROOMS are spacious, immaculately clean, well maintained and serviced to a very high standard on a daily basis. The room I stayed in had a view of a beautiful, lush garden. The personal touches are well thought out and consistently supplied: home-made rusks on the tea & coffee tray, enough fresh milk in the milk jug in the fridge for a few cups of tea, a choice of mugs and cups on the tea & coffee tray, fresh flowers or greenery in the rooms … The WATER PRESSURE in the shower is great. All rooms have showers and baths apart from one room I believe The communal DINING setting makes one feel as if you are eating at a family table. For BREAKFAST there is a variety of fresh fruit on offer, a cereal and toast and juice station, a varied hot selection with eggs made to order. DINNER is as varied and as delicious as breakfast WIFI is good AMANDA is the most perfect Hostess and goes out of her way to make sure that one feels at home. JJ adds a touch of humour and can’t do enough to assist with any request If you ever want to experience true hospitality this is the place to come to!…

I’ve stayed in this guesthouse before and really liked it. So when we had a family event (first one in 2 years) during August in Empangeni, this was the obvious choice. We booked and confirmed 3 rooms for us so that the family could stay together. We all traveled at least 1000km from all over SA to be there and much to our disappointment arrived at the guesthouse, only to be told there was a mixup with the booking and that there’s only one room available for us. Obviously we expressed our displeasure and disappointment but all the owner/manager did was to say how sorry she was. We understood that she was sorry but still, our whole family weekend, well planned weeks ahead and looking very much forward to, was spoiled. We had to find a decent place to stay (not many in Empangeni) and the family stay, as planned, couldn’t happen. I would recommend the management of the guesthouse get decent help with the admin, checking of rooms etc.…

From the moment I arrived I felt at home in Amanda's beautiful B&B. It was a perfect stay and the breakfast was incredible ( The smell of freshly baked scones greeted me as I approached the breakfast area!!) I was reluctant to leave, I felt so welcome and at home. I loved the finishing in the room, the linen, the placement of the furniture - everything carefully considered. I highly recommend Yellowwoods! Thank you Amanda, you are a hostess par excellence!!!

Thankyou Amanda, once again a perfect stay and great breakfast. Those mushrooms. Although Amanda's breakfasts are mostly standard there is always that little bit which makes it not-boring, unlike most other Guesthouses. The room was impeccable with fresh milk, rusks, water and a juice. TV is excellent (the picture, not the content. That's mostly rubbish). I'll be back! Hast a la vista baby. 😂

My second stay at Yellowwoods and once again Amanda was the perfect hostess. I was welcomed back like an old family friend. Although I was unable to book my previous room due to a long term guest staying in that specific room - I was allocated a lovely room with a separate and spacious bathroom. Breakfast at Yellowwoods is an absolute delight on the eye and a wonderful treat - that should not be missed. Yellowwoods come highly recommended for any travellers to the Empangeni area.
